Inventory items power almost every step of Anime Expeditions. You farm currencies for shops and summons, craft sprites for evolutions, feed food for unit XP, and burn rerolls when you chase better traits, stats, or gear rolls. Special materials from unit quests unlock evolutions that plain farming alone will not finish.

Think of your inventory as the fuel tank for progression, not a pile of random loot. Gems buy banners. Gold covers shops, cosmetics, and many upgrade costs. Mode tokens (Event Coins, Expedition Coins, Crown, Spirit Tokens, Raid Tokens) only matter in their matching shops, so spend them there instead of sitting on a stack you never open.
Level, evolve, then polish
Feed food first when a unit is underleveled. Cursed Boba, Red Flower, Frown Fruit, and Delicious Pie come from the Gold Shop and story content; Bunny Candy drops from raids. Once the level is comfortable, open the Upgrades room and Evolve. Most recipes ask for colored sprites, Rainbow Sprites, Gold, and often one unit-quest material such as Burning Fruit or Student ID.
Grey Sprites are the craft base. Convert them at the Crafting Station into color sprites (Blue, Green, Pink, Purple, and similar) and Rainbow Sprites before you commit a unit to evolve. Rainbow is the expensive bottleneck on many recipes, so farm Grey early and craft in bulk instead of one-off crafts right before a trial.
Rerolls are for keepers
Save Trait Crystals, Stat Rerolls, and Equipment Rerolls for units you already plan to main. Locks exist so you can protect a good potential while rolling the rest. Equipment Reroll and Equipment Lock are inventory consumables used on gear; the gear pieces themselves are a separate system, not bag materials.
Mode loops worth knowing
- Story and challenges: steady Gems, Gold, Grey Sprites, and challenge rewards that include rerolls.
- Raids: Spirit Tokens, Raid Tokens, Bunny Candy, and Spirit City shop goods like the Spirit City Totem.
- Tournaments: Crown for the tournament shop.
- Events and expeditions: Event Coins, Expedition Coins, Fuel Cells, plus limited craft mats like Cursed Timber and Equipment Scrap while those windows are open.
- Beginner Path: Beginner Tickets for the Beginner Banner. Luck and Super Luck potions are Robux-shop summon boosts if you buy them.
Easy mistakes
Do not dump every Trait Crystal into the first unit you pull. Do not craft all Grey into one color if your next evolution wants a different palette plus Rainbow. Do not treat event currencies as permanent wallet money; spend them in the event shop before the mode rotates out. New unit quests can add more evolution materials over time, so check a unit's trial before you assume you already own everything it needs.
FAQ
What is the difference between items and equipment in Anime Expeditions?
Items are stackable inventory resources: currencies, sprites, food, rerolls, evolution mats, tickets, and mode buffs. Equipment is equippable gear with its own stats and potentials. Equipment Reroll and Equipment Lock stay in the items bag because they are consumables you spend on gear.
How do I get more Grey Sprites and Rainbow Sprites?
Farm Grey Sprites from story stages, challenges, and general rewards. At the Crafting Station, convert Grey into color sprites and Rainbow Sprites. Rainbow costs a large Grey batch, so stockpile Grey before big evolution pushes.
When should I use Stat Lock or Equipment Lock?
Use a lock when one potential roll is already good and you want to reroll the others without losing it. Without a lock, a Stat Reroll or Equipment Reroll can change every unlocked potential on that unit or piece.
Where do evolution materials like Burning Fruit or Student ID come from?
Most special evolution materials drop from that unit's own quest or trial. Complete the trial, then spend the mat with the required sprites and Gold at Evolve. Holy Pendant is tied to True Saint; its full farm path is still thin, so double-check that unit's Evolve panel before you farm around it.
Are Event Coins and Expedition Coins permanent?
No. They are event-track currencies for the matching event or Expedition Shop. Spend them while the mode is active. Permanent wallets like Gems, Gold, Crown, Spirit Tokens, and Raid Tokens stick around across normal play.
What are Beginner Tickets for?
Finish Beginner Path chapters to earn Beginner Tickets, then pull on the Beginner Banner. That banner is the early guaranteed path toward Mythic units once you have banked enough tickets.
Does the Spirit City Totem work outside Spirit City?
It is a Spirit City raid shop buff that increases unit damage during Spirit City raids. Treat it as a mode-specific helper, not a global permanent power-up for every map.
