Skins are pure cosmetics. Damage, SPA, range, and kit behavior stay the same after you equip one. The only real choices are which unit the skin binds to and which limited route still has it.
Unit locks and evolved forms
Most skins name a respective unit. If the wiki lists both a base form and an evolved form, treat that as the family the skin belongs to, but equip on the evolved unit when you place it. Some skins skip the base form entirely and bind only to the evolved name (for example 8th Sword (Aztec) on 8th Sword (Berserk), or Elf Mage (Ranni) on Elf Mage (Unleashed)).
Global skins are the exception. Hazmat Skin and Player Skin list unit as Any, so they work across your roster without a matching unit pull.
Where skins come from
Routes stay limited and rotate by update:
- Limited store bundles for several Exclusive looks and Reaper (Cyborg).
- Named events such as Villain Hunt, the Villain Battlepass, MASTRR: True Love, and Tournament / Global Tournament Season #1.
- Villain Bundle #3 for 8th Sword (Aztec).
- Villain Banner for Legendary, Epic, and Rare skins such as Puppet (Biker), Hollow (Hellblade), String Demon (Badboy), Forbidden Teacher (Curse Queen), and Stone Alchemist (Boss).
If a card only says "limited store bundle," that is as specific as the sources get. Do not expect a permanent shop shelf.
Easy mistakes
- Expecting a damage buff: skins never change combat stats.
- Buying a unit-bound skin before you own that unit: the cosmetic sits in inventory until the matching unit can wear it.
- Confusing Hollow (Hellblade) with a Hollow (Hellblade) unit: the skin binds to Hollow (Blaze).
- Searching "Soul Reaper (Cyborg)": that hub label points at Reaper (Cyborg).
