Traits are the single passive each unit carries in Anime Expeditions. You spend one Trait Crystal per reroll at the Trait Reroll stand (between Crafting and Evolving in the lobby upgrade zone), and the new roll fully replaces whatever was there. Match the bonus to the unit’s job: damage and speed for carries, crit for crit kits, DoT for burn/poison style units, and income only on farm.

Mythic Traits

Common Traits
Early placeholders and one leveling tool. Enlightenment helps a unit catch up on EXP, then should go. Strength 1, Speed 1, and Range 1 are fine first rolls, not end goals.

Rerolling is the long grind after you already summon and evolve. Farm Trait Crystals from story star missions, quests, challenges, tournaments, dailies, events, codes, Time Chamber AFK, and shop bundles, then dump them into the units that actually stay on your team.
Where to spend crystals first
- Main DPS / carry: Chase Unbound when you can afford the long pity climb. Primordial is the flexible multi-stat stop if you want damage, SPA, and range without waiting for the rarest roll.
- Crit units: Forsaken is the big crit package. Precision 2 is a strong rare stop; Precision 1 is only a temporary step.
- DoT units: Draconic is the specialist pick (DoT damage, solid DMG, lower unit cost). Generic damage traits waste a lot of what those kits want.
- Farm units: Investor (+25% Income) is the one trait that belongs on economy units. Putting Unbound on a pure farm unit looks flashy and still hurts your early economy.
- Leveling only: Enlightenment speeds EXP while a unit is catching up. Replace it once the unit is leveled and ready for real content.
Pity and how rerolls work
Pity only applies to the mythic band: Draconic (300), Forsaken (500), Primordial (750), and Unbound (1,500). Treat pity as tracked while you roll that unit, and check the in-game counter before you switch targets. Auto-reroll plus filters help you stop when a preferred trait lands so you do not burn crystals past a good keep.
Every roll costs one Trait Crystal and overwrites the current trait. There is no dual-trait slot. Traits stack with equipment; they do not replace the unit’s kit or role.
Keep vs reroll
Commons and most uncommons are early placeholders. Strength 1 / Speed 1 / Range 1 are fine for a day, not forever. Limit Breaker, Bolt, Optics, and Precision 2 are real mid-tier stops by role when mythics are still out of reach. If a trait does not match the unit’s job (for example range on a pure farm unit, or Investor on a carry), reroll even if the rarity looks nice.
| Situation | Prefer |
|---|---|
| Long-term main carry | Unbound, then Primordial |
| Crit-scaling kit | Forsaken, then Precision 2 |
| Damage-over-time unit | Draconic |
| Income / farm unit | Investor |
| Temporary leveling | Enlightenment, then replace |
| Need more range or SPA without a mythic | Optics, Bolt, or the matching uncommon |
Common mistakes: parking crystals on bench units, treating every high rarity as “best,” leaving Enlightenment on a maxed unit, and ignoring pity so you soft-reset progress on a unit you already pushed deep.
FAQ
How do you reroll traits in Anime Expeditions?
Go to the Trait Reroll stand in the lobby upgrade zone, between Crafting and Evolving. Select a unit, spend one Trait Crystal per roll, and the new trait replaces the old one. Auto-reroll and filters can stop you when a preferred trait lands.
Which traits have pity?
Only the mythic traits: Draconic at 300, Forsaken at 500, Primordial at 750, and Unbound at 1,500. Other traits have listed chances but no pity counter.
Should every unit aim for Unbound?
No. Unbound is the main-carry damage chase. Crit kits often want Forsaken, DoT units want Draconic, and farm units want Investor. Matching the trait to the unit’s job beats chasing the rarest name on everyone.
Is Investor only for farm units?
Yes. Investor raises income, so it belongs on economy or farm units. On a pure damage dealer it wastes the slot that could hold damage, SPA, range, or crit.
When should you replace Enlightenment?
As soon as the unit is leveled enough for the content you care about. The +50% EXP gain is great while catching up and poor once you need real combat or income stats.
How do you get Trait Crystals?
They drop from story star missions, quests, challenges, tournaments, daily rewards, mailbox and events, codes, Robux bundles, and Time Chamber AFK. One crystal equals one reroll.
