The Fisch Astral Observatory Bestiary is spread across six hidden pools, so start by reaching the right cavern before you cast. Use the GPS as a starting point, then match the landmark when the numbers land you nearby.
For a short explanation of Vega, the telescope, and Astral Anomalies, see how the Astral Observatory works in Fisch.
Where to find the six Astral Observatory pools
Astral Observatory is a distributed bestiary, not one normal fishing spot. Use the area, GPS marker, and entry clue below to choose the right route before you spend bait.
| Area | Region | Approx. GPS | Entry clue |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boreal Hollow | Boreal Pines | (21385, 249, 3816) | Reinforced crab cages, snowy climb, glowing opening |
| Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern | Cryogenic Canal | (20095, 520, 5415) | Third camp, large arched bridge, floor gap |
| Snowcap Island Astral Cavern | Snowcap Island | (2674, 145, 2578) | Active Blue Moon, Blue Moon room, hidden drop |
| Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern | Mariana's Veil and Abyssal Zenith | (-13800, -11230, 165) | Underwater Astral opening at the Abyssal Zenith layer |
| Everturn Forest Astral Cavern | Everturn Forest | (2520, 140, -2480) | Central pond and waterfall |
| Boreal Pines Astral Cavern | Boreal Pines | (21875, 110, 4255) | Frozen lake bottom near the Merchant's cabin |
How to reach Boreal Hollow
Start at the reinforced crab cages in Boreal Pines. Climb the snowy ledge and enter the glowing opening to reach the separate Boreal Hollow pool. Check the zone name before fishing, because Boreal Hollow and Boreal Pines Astral Cavern are different stops.

Cryogenic Canal Astral Cavern
Go to the third base camp and move beneath the large arched bridge. Find the gap in the floor and drop into the glowing cavern below. If the marker puts you a little away from the entrance, use the bridge and floor gap as your confirmation.

Snowcap Island Astral Cavern
An active Blue Moon is required. At Snowcap, use the Blue Moon Totem near (2717, 141, 2480), then find the blue-lit door around (2698, 188, 2563) and drop into the hidden cavern. Check the live prompt for the current C$ cost before activating the totem.

Abyssal Zenith Astral Cavern
Reach the Mariana's Veil and Abyssal Zenith layer, then look for the underwater Astral opening near the marker. Use the dark opening and the zone name together so you do not stop at an ordinary Abyssal fishing spot.
Everturn Forest Astral Cavern
Travel to the central pond in Everturn Forest and go behind the waterfall. The opening there leads to the Astral cavern and its separate fishing pool.

Boreal Pines Astral Cavern
Near the Merchant's cabin, dive to the bottom of the frozen lake and look for the cavern entrance. This pool is separate from Boreal Hollow, which uses the crab-cage and snowy-climb route.
Astral Observatory Bestiary: all 36 entries
Version 1.98 added 37 new fish across the update, but Ketchup belongs to the separate Pufferfish Party admin event. It is not an Astral entry, so the Astral Bestiary count is 36.
Weather, time, season, and bait below are preferred patterns that generally improve catch odds. They are not hard guarantees. Any listed means no restriction is recorded for that field. Main pool item marks a Glass or component entry, while Crab Cage and Hunt mark special catch methods.

Use the pool whose live weather, time, and season match, then use the listed bait to improve the roll. A matching condition raises the chance, but it does not guarantee a specific entry.
Magnet is listed for every Glass and component row, so it is the simplest bait to carry when your remaining gaps are item entries. The Fisch telescope lens guide covers the five lens recipes, while the Scavenger, Meteoric, and Rod of Singularity guide covers the wider component quest.
Tips for finishing the Bestiary
Finish one pool before moving to the next. Carry the preferred bait for its missing rows and use a matching condition window when practical. Snowcap is the access exception because the active Blue Moon controls entry.
GPS gets you into the right area, but the landmark confirms the pool. The frozen lake and Merchant's cabin point to Boreal Pines Astral Cavern, while the crab cages and snowy climb point to Boreal Hollow. In Cryogenic Canal, use the arched bridge and floor gap if the marker lands off target.
Goliath Hunt tip
Goliath is a Hunt catch, not a normal cast from the Boreal Hollow pool. Check the live Bestiary for its current bait preference, then use this order.

- Fish around the main Boreal Pines pool and the nearby crab cages until a natural disturbance begins.
- Do not use a Sundial Totem to start the Hunt.
- Return through the Boreal Hollow opening and fish there while the Hunt is active.
- Work within the 15-minute Hunt. It ends as soon as any player catches Goliath.
Quick answers
Why are there 36 Astral entries instead of 37?
Version 1.98 lists 37 new fish across the update. Ketchup belongs to Pufferfish Party admin-event content, so it is not part of the Astral Bestiary.
Which Astral entries need a Crab Cage?
Sea Angel is in Everturn Forest, Glacial Crab is in Cryogenic Canal, and Northern Krill is on Snowcap Island. The catch note marks each one in the tables.
Does Snowcap require a Blue Moon?
Yes. The Blue Moon must be active before the door and drop into the Snowcap Astral cavern can be used. Check the current totem prompt for its C$ price.
Is Goliath a normal Boreal Hollow catch?
No. It appears during a natural-disturbance Hunt that cannot be started with a Sundial Totem. The Hunt lasts 15 minutes and ends when a player catches Goliath.
Completion reward and version note
On the v1.98 ruleset, completing the Astral Bestiary awards the Comet Bobber, 50,000 C$, 35,000 XP, and the Astral completion badge. These route points, names, and conditions use an August 2026 reference, so check the live Bestiary and reward panel after a later update.
