How to get the Birthday Candle Rod in Fisch

Updated on October 7, 2026 (about 1 hour ago)

The Birthday Candle Rod was the final reward in Fisch's 2nd Anniversary event. It is an event reward, not a rod you buy or fish up directly. You need one of each of the 11 required Anniversary Fish, then you must submit those unique species at the Icing Pool inside the Giant Birthday Cake at Moosewood.

The reported event window was October 3 through October 6, 2026. No permanent method or rerun was documented, so treat the steps below as the limited-time event route.

How to get the Birthday Candle Rod in Fisch

Start at Moosewood and find the Giant Birthday Cake near the docks. The cake's Icing Pool is where you register your catches, and the Birthday Candle Rod is awarded after the 11th unique submission. Catching 11 event fish is not enough if some of them are duplicates.

You will need to collect six Anniversary Fish that can be caught around the map, plus five species that are tied to the pink Anniversary Pools. Bring one specimen of every required species to the cake, submit them one at a time, and keep going until all 11 species count.

Which 11 Fisch Anniversary Fish count for the Candle Rod?

The full 2nd Anniversary bestiary had 12 entries, but the Birthday Candle Rod route uses 11 of them. Birthday Profane Leviathan is the extra entry and is not required for this reward.

The event fish use Cupcakes as bait. Keep one of each required species instead of selling or submitting every copy as soon as you catch it.

Global Anniversary Fish

You could catch these six species anywhere on the map during the event, without waiting for an Anniversary Pool.

Anniversary Pool fish

These five species were tied to active pink Anniversary Pools. Birthday Profane Leviathan also appears in the wider event roster, but it does not count toward the rod's 11-species route.

Where to find Anniversary Pools in Fisch

Anniversary Pools were reported to appear about once per hour near one of four islands: Roslit Bay, Forsaken Shores, Snowcap Island, or Castaway Cliffs. When a pool appeared, global chat named the island where you could find it.

Go to the named island as soon as you see the announcement and look for the glowing pink water. The pool was reported to remain active for nearly 15 minutes, so waiting too long can cost you the catch window. Fish there with Cupcakes for the five pool-focused species in the checklist.

How to submit Anniversary Fish at the Moosewood Icing Pool

Once you have the required catches, return to Moosewood and enter the Giant Birthday Cake near the dock. Use the Icing Pool's Toss In interaction for each species you have not submitted yet.

  1. Bring one specimen of a required Anniversary Fish to the cake.
  2. Use the Icing Pool interaction to toss it in.
  3. Check whether that species is new to your submissions. A new species advances the unique count and unlocks the next milestone.
  4. Repeat with the remaining required species until you reach 11 unique submissions.

A duplicate does not light another candle or advance the rod reward. Reports say duplicates can still return Cupcake bait or XP, but you need a new species for progress. If your count stops moving, check your fish against the two tables above instead of collecting a twelfth species.

Fisch Birthday Candle Rod rewards from 1 to 11 submissions

Each new species unlocks the next event milestone. Use the unique-submission count as your checkpoint rather than trying to interpret the cake's visible candle layout.

Unique submissionsReward
1Birthday Title
2Cupcake Bobber
3Lit-Candle Lantern
4Fish Cake
5Anniversary Totem
6Birthday Cake Furniture
7Anniversary Popper Bobber
8Party Hat Lantern
9Cake Cruiser
10Birthday Cake Halo
11Birthday Candle Rod

At five unique submissions, the Anniversary Totem can summon an Anniversary Pool during the event. If you are missing a pool-focused fish, the Totem gives you another chance to fish for it while the event is active.

Birthday Candle Rod stats

If you unlocked the rod, its reported base stats are:

StatValue
Lure Speed60%
Luck105%
Control0
Resilience35%
Maximum weight500,000 kg
Line Distance105 m

The acquisition route does not depend on the rod's active effects, so this section lists only the repeated base stats. For broader rod reference data, see the Fisch rods collection.

Is the Fisch Birthday Candle Rod still obtainable?

The reported 2nd Anniversary event window was October 3 through October 6, 2026. The exact shutdown hour was not established. No permanent access method or future rerun was documented. If you are trying the route after that window, do not assume the cake, pools, or turn-in interaction are still active until the game confirms a return.

The key requirement was 11 different submitted species, not 11 total fish and not all 12 entries in the event bestiary.
