Hero’s Hairstrand costs 500 Returned Dungeon Tokens at the Returned Dungeon Raid Shop, and only Traitless (Vigilante) can use it. For that unit, the headline is a 5,000% damage increase. The Familiar also has passives that reach Anniversary-type units and any unit a passive or ability moves, so the rest of your lineup matters too.
How to Get Hero’s Hairstrand in Anime Vanguards
Hero’s Hairstrand is sold in the Returned Dungeon Raid Shop for 500 Returned Dungeon Tokens. It was introduced with the 2nd Anniversary Event, and whether the shop keeps selling it after that event isn’t confirmed. Check the shop in-game before you spend time farming tokens for it.

Hero’s Hairstrand Passives for Traitless (Vigilante)
Two of the three passives are built for Traitless (Vigilante). The third, Inspiring Vigilante, reaches the rest of your roster.

Number One Hero’s Protege
This passive gives Traitless (Vigilante) a 5,000% increase in damage, the biggest number on the Familiar. It only applies to Traitless. Other units get their damage boost from the movement effects below, not from this passive.
Inspiring Vigilante
Inspiring Vigilante is the passive for Anniversary-type units. It raises their critical rate by 45% and cuts their upgrade cost by 40%. The discount matters most when you’re paying to upgrade several of them, and the higher critical rate gives each one more chances to land a critical hit.
Effects When a Unit Gets Moved
Inspiring Vigilante also reacts when a passive or active ability moves one of your units. The moved unit gets a 50% damage boost for 30 seconds. Right after the move, Traitless (Vigilante) hits enemies in that unit’s range with Sourceless Damage equal to 50% of Traitless’s current damage. That hit has a 10-second cooldown.
The same effects apply when Traitless (Vigilante) gets moved, except when Dark Tendrils teleports Traitless.
You’re Not Going Anywhere
When an enemy enters Traitless’s range for the first time, this passive pulls the first enemy on the path to the point on the path closest to Traitless. Only one pulled enemy can exist at a time. When Traitless defeats that enemy, Traitless’s next attack is a guaranteed critical hit, and the buff ends after that attack.
How quickly the pull can happen again after that enemy falls isn’t clear, so don’t plan around back-to-back pulls.
Is Hero’s Hairstrand Worth 500 Tokens?
It depends on your lineup, and it starts with Traitless (Vigilante). The Familiar only works with Traitless, so skip it if Traitless isn’t on your team. If Traitless is on your team, this table shows what each part of your roster gets.
| Your lineup | What applies |
|---|---|
| Traitless (Vigilante) | The damage increase, the enemy pull, and the Sourceless Damage hit after a move |
| Anniversary-type units | Higher critical rate and cheaper upgrades |
| Any unit a passive or ability moves | A temporary damage boost |
How often your setup moves units shapes how much of the Familiar you’ll use. If abilities and passives move units often, the movement effects give it more reach. If they rarely do, the Anniversary-type effects are the part to count.
