Witch's Staff is not a random event drop in Anime Vanguards. You buy it for 1,000 Wrath Coins from the Wrath Event Shop, then equip it on Medea (Witch of Betrayal) to activate the familiar's effects.

What Is Witch's Staff in Anime Vanguards?
Witch's Staff is a Vanguard-tier Familiar introduced with the Wrath's End update. It is tied to Medea (Witch of Betrayal), so it is not a general familiar that you can freely attach to any unit.
You first need to purchase the item from the Wrath Event Shop. After that, equip it to Medea and place her in a stage to trigger the placement-based parts of the familiar kit.
How to Get Witch's Staff in Anime Vanguards
You can reach the Wrath Event through the center-lobby NPC or the Events menu. Follow these steps:
- Go to the center of the main lobby and interact with History's Strongest, near the Group beacon tower and The Doctor. Choose Wrath Event from the NPC menu.
- If you prefer a menu route, open Events, choose Special Event, select Wrath Event, and press Play.
- Enter Shining Castle, then choose Normal or Hard and select one of the available Sins.
- Clear all 15 waves of the event. A completed run awards the base Wrath Coin payout for the difficulty you selected.
- Repeat the run until you have at least 1,000 Wrath Coins. Open the Wrath Event Shop and purchase Witch's Staff.

How Many Wrath Coins Do You Need for Witch's Staff?
Witch's Staff costs 1,000 Wrath Coins. A full Normal clear pays 100 base coins, while a full Hard clear pays 200, so starting from zero you need 10 Normal clears or 5 Hard clears.

How to Equip Witch's Staff on Medea in Anime Vanguards
Buying the familiar does not automatically apply it to a unit. Equip it through the familiar menu:
- Open Units and go to Familiars.
- Select Witch's Staff, then choose Equip.
- Select Medea (Witch of Betrayal) as the target.
- Confirm with Select or the matching equip confirmation in the panel.
Some interfaces let you begin from the unit instead: select Medea first, open her Familiar panel, and choose Witch's Staff there. After a successful equip, the panel should show the familiar on Medea, change the control to Unequip, or display the familiar passives on the unit card.
Witch's Staff is unit-bound, so another unit should not be accepted as its target. If Medea is not selectable, check that you selected Witch's Staff and are in the Familiar panel rather than trying to equip it from a general unit screen.
What Witch's Staff Does for Medea
The exact figures below are the Wrath's End values documented for Witch's Staff. Familiar tooltips can change with later balance updates, so compare these numbers with the passive text in your game if it shows a difference. Place Medea after equipping the familiar because the summon and Oathbreaker effects depend on her being on the field.
Witch of Colchis and Teeth of the Dragon
Witch of Colchis gives Medea +3,000% damage. Teeth of the Dragon grants Dragon Fang Army when Medea is placed, summoning the following units at a chosen point on the track:

If one of these summons is killed by the enemy it is attacking, that enemy is afflicted with Rupture. The effect is therefore tied to Medea's placement and includes both the summon composition and the damage scaling shown above.
Witch's Staff Upgrade Discount with Sokora
While a Sokora is placed, all Crimson Moon units at or below the highest Sokora upgrade level cost 70% less to upgrade, including Sokora itself. The highest placed Sokora upgrade level sets the ceiling for which Crimson Moon units receive the discount.
A unit receiving this discount cannot have its upgrade cost reduced by another source at the same time.
Broken Oath and Oathbreaker
Broken Oath buffs Curse and Holy units by 40% Damage. When Medea is placed, Oathbreaker makes her damage count as ability damage.
Oathbreaker also deals damage equal to 10% of the current damage of every Crimson Moon unit to a selected area. Each unit is counted only once, regardless of how many copies of that unit are placed. If the attack hits an enemy affected by Nullified, it triggers a second attack.
Once the staff is equipped, the Medea familiar or passives panel is the quickest confirmation that the item is attached. Then place Medea in a stage or Sandbox to check Dragon Fang Army and Oathbreaker in play before relying on the effects in a difficult run.
