Anime Vanguards' Wrath's End update reset the previous Battlepass and put a new Exclusive unit at the end of the track: Wrath (Assault) is the standard reward at Tier 50. The useful part is knowing which activity advances the bar without guessing at a fixed number of matches.
Use the new Wrath Event on Shining Castle for its 3x Battlepass XP multiplier. You can talk to History's Strongest, choose Normal or Hard, pick a Sin before wave one, and clear all 15 waves. This guide covers that route, the Tier 50 rewards, what Premium changes, and the update's other main systems.
How to Unlock Wrath (Assault) in the Anime Vanguards Battlepass
Open the current Battlepass track and start earning Pass XP from gameplay and quests. Progress from the previous season has been reset, so returning players need to work through the new track again. The important milestones are:
| Battlepass milestone | Reward | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 25 | A Beast Plays memoria | An optional milestone on the way to the unit |
| Tier 50 | Wrath (Assault) | The standard Battlepass reward and the main unlock target |
| Premium track | Shiny Wrath (Assault) | The shiny version on the Premium track |
| Cosmetic Pass Tier 50 | Wrath (Assault) skin | A separate cosmetic reward, not the unit unlock |
The regular track is the one that gets you to Wrath (Assault). Premium adds the shiny version, while the separate Cosmetic Pass has its own Tier 50 skin. Premium adds a second reward track rather than multiplying Pass XP, so buying it does not change the XP route below.
There is no fixed XP total or run count to rely on here, so use the progress bar and reward panel in your current Battlepass as your authority for how far you are from the next tier. Once Tier 50 is available, claim Wrath (Assault) directly from the track.
How to Earn Battlepass XP in Anime Vanguards Wrath's End
The 15-wave Wrath Event on Shining Castle gives the update's 3x Battlepass XP multiplier. Gameplay and quests can also feed the Battlepass, so you are not limited to this event.

Follow this loop:
- Go to Shining Castle and speak to the History's Strongest NPC.
- Choose Normal or Hard for the Wrath Event.
- Before wave one begins, choose one of the seven Sins. Your choice stays active for the entire match.
- Clear all 15 waves. A completed match gives 3x Battlepass XP.
- Check the live Battlepass bar after the clear and repeat the route until the Tier 50 reward becomes claimable.
The 3x figure is a multiplier, not a promise of a particular number of XP points. Since the exact tier totals and match count are not listed, a fixed “runs to Tier 50” answer would be guesswork. If you are farming only Battlepass progress, track the bar after each clear rather than relying on an older season's XP chart.
Normal vs Hard Wrath Event Rewards
The difficulty choice mainly changes how punishing the event is and how many Wrath Coins you receive. Both difficulties use the same 3x Battlepass XP multiplier; Hard does not add a separate XP bonus.
| Difficulty | Enemy health | Wrath Coins per clear | Practical choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | The event's standard health level | 100 | Use this when you want the more reliable clear for steady Battlepass progress |
| Hard | Enemies have 10x health | 200 | Choose it when your team can consistently handle the extra health and you also want more Wrath Coins |
Hard doubles the listed coin reward, but it does not add another Battlepass XP bonus beyond the shared 3x multiplier. For the Tier 50 unit, a completed Normal run is the safer choice if the 10x health modifier would make Hard inconsistent.
Wrath Event Sins and Match Rules
Some parts of the map are no-placement zones, marked in red while you are placing units. Before wave one, you also choose one Sin that changes the rules for the whole match:
| Sin | Effect |
|---|---|
| Wrath | When a unit hits an enemy it has already hit, that unit gains 50% damage for 30 seconds. The bonus stacks without a listed limit. |
| Pride | You can field only one unit, but it deals 5x damage, has 50% more range, and can be placed anywhere. |
| Greed | The first non-farm unit you upgrade becomes the only unit you can upgrade that match. Copies of it deal 4x damage and can be upgraded past their normal maximum. |
| Lust | Selling a fully upgraded unit refunds its placement cost and leaves a copy behind. That copy cannot be sold for money or copied again. |
| Envy | Your strongest non-farm unit loses 30% damage, and your other non-farm units match its damage. |
| Sloth | All enemies move 30% slower. |
| Gluttony | Farms pay out a second time at the end of every wave. |
You do not need to memorize every Sin to start the Battlepass, but the choice can change how easy a 15-wave clear feels. For a deeper explanation of Sin choices, Wrath Coins, and event farming, use the Anime Vanguards Wrath Event guide after you understand the Battlepass route.
What Wrath (Assault) Does in Anime Vanguards
Wrath (Assault) is an Exclusive Curse unit designed around Evils teams. Its value comes from supporting those tags and creating stronger ability windows, so the Tier 50 reward is most relevant if your lineup can use Curse or Evils bonuses.

Wrath (Assault)'s kit gives you these effects:
- It buffs Curse damage by 50% and Evils units by 80%. Evils units also gain another 50% damage for each different element on your unit bar.
- It can be placed for free once another Evils unit is on the field. It upgrades itself whenever another Evils unit is upgraded.
- Its attacks apply Despair and Destruction, remove shields, and deal extra damage to enemies that are taking damage over time.
- When an Evils unit lands an elemental critical hit, 10% of that damage also hits every enemy in range. Wrath (Assault)'s own critical hits make the next Evils unit attack critically as well.
- Its active, The Power of Friends, multiplies an Evils unit's next damaging active by four and redirects that attack to the enemy with the most health.
There is a drawback to plan around: every three waves, Wrath (Assault) turns into a Mind Controlled enemy. It gains 80% more damage each time you defeat it. After you defeat it three times, it stops turning against you and gains 100% critical chance.
That makes the unit more than a passive stat boost. You need another Evils unit in play to place it for free, and its active and critical effects reward a team that can line up Evils abilities and different elements. The Mind Controlled phase is the main cost of using its power, so account for it when deciding where the Tier 50 unit fits in your team.
Other New Wrath's End Features in Anime Vanguards
The Wrath Event also gives you Wrath Coins, which you can spend on five new Vanguard familiars, Trait Rerolls, Memoria Shards, Phoenix Shards, Elemental Shards, and Corruption Crystals. That gives you another reason to run the event after checking your Battlepass progress.
The update also adds Apostles Vs Vanguards, the successor to Vanguards vs Skeletons. Up to four players defend five lanes on Land of the Gods, and surviving all 25 waves rewards 100 Wrath Coins. Its basic rules are:
- Tempest Pirate always occupies the first slot and drops coin chests that collect themselves shortly afterward.
- The other five slots rotate on a timer or when you pay to reroll, and you can lock one slot to keep its unit until you place it.
- Units can be placed after wave one starts. Dropping a unit onto a matching unit merges it up a tier.
- Each outer lane has a guardian that can clear that lane once.
- More units enter the shop as the waves continue, with Beast Pirate, Arin, and Lich Sovereign appearing as bosses.
For the Battlepass goal, start with the live reward track, then use the Shining Castle Wrath Event as the 3x XP loop. Choose the difficulty you can clear reliably, watch the current bar instead of trusting a fixed match count, and claim Wrath (Assault) when Tier 50 unlocks.
