Radios let you play music IDs out loud in Murder Mystery 2 lobbies, and the radio skin you carry is its own little status symbol. The catch sits up front: owning a radio model is not enough, because actually broadcasting music takes the Radio Gamepass. After that one purchase, every model here is pure cosmetics, from cheap coin-shop picks to event radios that have not been obtainable in years.

The gamepass rule
The Radio Gamepass (475 Robux) is what unlocks playing music at all, and it comes with the Default radio. The Elite Gamepass bundles its own radio alongside other perks. Every other radio in the game changes how your radio looks, not what it can do, so buy the gamepass first and treat everything after as decoration.
Radios also only work in Casual and Assassin style lobbies, and they are one of the systems switched off in Disguises rounds. If your radio button is missing, check the mode before assuming something broke.
Spending Coins or Diamonds
The shop keeps two shelves. Coin radios run from Dubstep at 1,200 Coins up to the pricier patterns, cheap enough that a few evenings of rounds covers one. Diamond radios cost premium currency and mostly exist for the look, with the Sparkletime family as the flex tier. One oddity: Overseer was a Diamond-shop radio that got retired, so it now floats around only in inventories of players who bought it back then.
Event radios
Halloween and Christmas events handed out radios through battle pass tiers and event-currency shops, and those routes closed with their events. They are marked Unobtainable on the cards, and unlike knives and guns, radios are not tradable, so there is no market route to a missed one. The year-stamped candy canes exist because the same design came back in a different year as a separate item.
Which radio should you actually get?
- Just want music: Radio Gamepass, done. The Default model broadcasts the same as any of them.
- Have spare Coins: pick whichever coin model you like; there is no functional difference.
- Chasing looks: the Sparkletime family and the Halloween radios are the recognized rares.
FAQ
Do you need a gamepass to use radios in Murder Mystery 2?
Yes. The Radio Gamepass (475 Robux) unlocks playing music and includes the Default radio. Without it, owning radio skins does nothing, since every other radio is only a cosmetic shell.
How do you play music on an MM2 radio?
Equip your radio, then enter a Roblox music ID while in a lobby that allows radios. Radios work in Casual and Assassin style rounds and are disabled in Disguises.
Are Murder Mystery 2 radios tradable?
No. Radios sit outside the MM2 trading system, so event radios from past Halloweens and Christmases cannot be bought, traded, or gifted afterward. If you missed the event, the radio is gone unless it is rerun.
What is the cheapest radio in MM2?
Dubstep at 1,200 Coins is the entry point among shop radios. Since all radios play music identically once you own the Radio Gamepass, the cheap ones are a perfectly good pick.
Why does the Overseer radio say unobtainable?
Overseer was sold in the Diamond shop and later retired, making it the one shop radio you can no longer buy. Players who purchased it while it was listed keep it.
