All 160 Swords and Blades and How to Get Them in Crimson Desert

Updated on November 8, 2026 (about 4 hours ago)

Swords and blades are the melee weapons you fight with in Crimson Desert, from simple branches and bamboo stalks to rapiers, longswords, giant longswords and daggers. They come from many places, including chests and ruins, quest rewards, shops, enemy drops and the smithy, where you can also craft and refine them. Knowing what each type does and where it comes from helps you pick a weapon that suits how you fight and put your materials into the one you'll keep.

Sword Types in Crimson Desert: Longswords, Giant Longswords, Daggers and Rapiers

The swords and blades fall into a few main types: Sword, Longsword, Giant Longsword, Dagger and Rapiers. Sword is the broadest group, running from humble bamboo and branch pieces up to ornate ceremonial blades.

Longswords range from noble-looking designs to a heavy shark-fin shape and a hooked blade that can catch larger foes and limit their movement. Giant longswords are folding greatswords, several made by House Spencer and built to fold up for easier carrying.

Daggers are short blades for close range, from ceremonial pieces to goblin treasure and the cook's kitchen knives. Rapiers are dueling blades, and many belong to noble houses. Charting the Unknown added a good number of these, so the range reaches well past the base game.

Sword and Blade Stats Explained

Every sword and blade has an attack number, which is the main damage it deals. Many also carry a second bonus. Critical Rate raises your chance of landing a critical hit, Attack Speed makes you swing faster, and the sturdy versions of the branch and bamboo pieces add Movement Speed, which helps you move quicker while holding them.

Stats change as a weapon is refined, so the fairest way to compare two blades is at +10, the highest refinement level. Even then, most weapons of the same type land close together in stats, so small differences matter less than the bonuses they carry.

Each type tends to have its own pattern. Daggers often lean on Critical Rate, while the kitchen knives add attack alone. Every rapier carries an Attack Speed bonus, and swords, longswords and giant longswords offer a mix, with some having no bonus beyond attack.

Some weapons also come with Abyss Gears already fitted in their sockets. These can change how a weapon is used, and their effects don't show up in the numbers, so attack alone never tells the whole story.

Most swords and blades work for every character. A few are locked to one, with Hollow Visage and Sword of the Wolf for Kliff only and the giant longswords for Damiane.

How to Get Swords and Blades

The best swords and blades are mostly placed in the world rather than dropped at random. Many turn up in the open world, and the better ones tend to sit in chests, ruins and boss rooms.

Quests are another route, since finishing some of them rewards you with a weapon. Shops also carry plenty, including Lederson in Hernand, Gunter in Pailune, Leore in Delesyia, Kathor in Demeniss, Omar in Varnia and Tranan at Greymane Camp.

Enemies sometimes drop them as well, such as the Fallen Noble's Rapier and the plain Bamboo Stalk. Many others can be crafted at a smithy once you have the right manual.

Early Weapons: Branches, Bamboo and Kitchen Knives

The lowest tier holds a large family of branch and bamboo weapons. The plain ones hit lightly, while the sturdy and sacred versions reach much higher. The plain Branch and Tree Branch are found across Pywel, the Sturdy Tree Branch comes from sturdy trees and the Sturdy Bamboo Stalk from sturdy bamboo, and many others are crafted at a smithy.

The cook's kitchen knives come from Charting the Unknown, and their names follow a cook's climb from apprentice to master. The plain Kitchen Knife is the simplest of the bunch, while the Master's Kitchen Knife has the most attack.

A handful of the knives can skin extra materials when you skin animals, with the Master's Kitchen Knife at 20% and the rest at 10%. Most are crafted at a smithy, while shops in Hernand, Demeniss, Delesyia and Bei sell some of them.

Swords and Blades Worth Chasing

The swords and blades most players chase are the unique ones tucked into chests, ruins and boss rooms. These are the ones that tend to be worth the detour, because they bring stronger bonuses than the everyday pieces.

Hwando is a strong early find, a longsword with a narrow point, and it sits in a chest at Lioncrest Manor north of Hernand. Frozen Anguish is a blue longsword that radiates frost, found in a glowing chest just inside the Spire of Frost northeast of Hernand. Darkbringer, another longsword, waits in far northwest Pailune.

Among the rapiers, Royal Oath is a coronation rapier once used by House Thorel and can be found in the open world. Sword of Starlight is a rapier said to be forged from starlight, and it carries one of the highest Attack Speed bonuses among the rapiers.

How to Craft and Refine Swords and Blades

Crafting starts with a manual, because by default the smithy only makes arrows and bullets. Equipment shops sell manuals, such as One-handed Weapons of the World, Vol. 1 at Rhett's shop in Hernand, and some quests hand them out. Open the book from your inventory to learn its recipes, then check your journal to see what each one costs.

Most melee weapons need iron and copper ore, which you mine from deposits on mountain walls with a pickaxe. You can buy a pickaxe at the Provisioner's Shop, the house across from the blacksmith in Hernand. Crafting also uses up one weapon you already own, so check the screen before you confirm and make sure it isn't a blade you want to keep.

Every weapon can be refined at a smithy, which you'll find in each major town, up to level 10. Refining costs materials instead of money, and the screen shows the stat gain and materials needed before you commit. Early levels take common ore or a second copy of the same weapon, though some gear sets, like the grey wolf set, can't use duplicates.

Later levels need bloodstone and an Abyss Artifact, and the last level needs Aeserion's Scales. The costs climb quickly at the higher levels, too.

A grindstone gives your weapon a temporary attack boost, which is handy before a boss fight. And if you change your mind, extraction at the smithy gets your materials back.

Aeserion Swords and Blades and the Serpent Shrine

The Aeserion weapons are crafted and named after Aeserion, the Great Serpent. The swords and blades here include the Aeserion Sword, Aeserion Longsword and Aeserion Dagger. They're mostly valued for their look, since they aren't much stronger than other weapons.

You'll want to visit the Serpent Shrine either way, because its scales are needed for the final refinement level on any gear. The shrine is an island between Delesyia and Hernand, near Three Brothers' Cliff. Use Axiom Force to pull the scattered scales up and seal them in your Kuku Pot, and you don't have to fight the serpent to get them.

The Aeserion blueprint is in a chest on the south side of the island. Look for ruins with a serpent mural, break open the suspicious rock there, and open the chest inside. The blueprint teaches one weapon per page, so keep turning pages and learning until you've learned every one, since picking up the book isn't enough.

FAQ

Q.

Which swords and blades come from quest rewards?

Several do. Savage Sawblade comes from the Masked Hunter quest, Shackle of Might from Demeniss Bound, Tauria Curved Sword from Black and White, and Sword of Starlight from Where Starlight Converges.

Q.

Which sword or blade has the highest attack?

At +10, the Lumen Longsword from Charting the Unknown has the highest attack number. It has no Critical Rate or Attack Speed bonus, though, so it isn't automatically the best pick for every player.

Q.

Which daggers have the highest Critical Rate?

At +10, the Aeserion Dagger, Crow Brothers Dagger, Dekarr Dagger and Varnian Dagger all reach Critical Rate Lv 10, the top level among the daggers. Attack is only part of the picture, so check the other bonuses before you choose.

Q.

What swords and blades came with Charting the Unknown?

Examples include the Lumen Sword, Soul Sword, Pirate's Sword, Veyrfin Sword, Longsword of Void, Gatekeeper's Longsword, Silverwave Longsword, Feral Claw and Depthbinder Rapier, along with the cook's kitchen knives.
