The quickest early payout in Crimson Desert is stealing the Gold Bar hidden in Lioncrest Manor, in the north of Hernand town, and exchanging it at a Bank for 500 Silver. Silver is the game's main currency, and it runs short early on, so a fast boost goes a long way. For income you can keep coming back to, mine Diamonds and sell the loot and animal parts you pick up while exploring.
| Method | Best for | What it pays |
|---|---|---|
| Steal the Gold Bar in Lioncrest Manor | The biggest early payout | 500 Silver at a Bank |
| Rob the Hernand Bank | Extra early Silver | Loot from chests and the room, varies; costs Contribution |
| Mine Diamonds | Income you can repeat | 2.28 Silver per Diamond |
| Sell bandit loot and animal parts | Steady income while exploring | Masks, spare gear, and animal parts sold to vendors; Coin Purses opened for Silver |
| Duo and Five-Card | Optional extra income | Depends on the hands you win |
Start with the Gold Bar, since it's the biggest early boost, and rob the Hernand Bank while you're there if you can spare the Contribution it costs. Diamonds and loot take longer to add up, but you can repeat them as you explore. Card games can pay off when you win, but the results aren't dependable, so treat them as a bonus.
How Money Works in Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert uses three kinds of money. Copper is the small change, and 100 Copper makes 1 Silver. Silver is what you'll spend on most things, including weapons, armor, food, and camp upgrades.
Gold Bars are worth the most, but you can't spend them directly. You exchange them at a Bank for Silver, so every Gold Bar you find should go to a Bank.
Steal the Gold Bar in Lioncrest Manor for Fast Early Silver
You can do this within your first hour in Hernand. The Gold Bar sits in the ground-floor fireplace, and you need a Mask to steal it. A regular merchant only pays 190 Silver for it, so the Bank is the better stop.

- Buy a Mask. The Back Alley merchant in Hernand sells them. You need one because the steal option only appears while you're wearing it.
- Get inside through a window. Walk around the manor, find a window that's open or can be opened, and climb through.
- Head to the ground-floor fireplace. Stand in front of it and turn off the fire.
- Put on your Mask and steal. Interact with the fireplace to take the hidden Gold Bar. If the option doesn't show, adjust your camera angle until it does.
- Leave before the guards catch on. Don't steal in front of the guards who walk around the house. Wait for the crime bar to go down and the red search area to clear before you leave.
- Cash it in at a Bank. Trade the Gold Bar in for Silver.

Doing this at night makes the job easier. A guard does patrol the area, so being noticed can still happen. If it does, the fine is easy to cover once you have the Silver from the Bank.
Rob the Hernand Bank for Extra Silver
The room to the left as you enter the Bank holds strongboxes and chests worth looting. Anything you take can be sold to any vendor, since the items don't carry a stolen tag.
The cost is Contribution. Every object you steal lowers your Hernandian Contribution Level by 5 EXP, and that level mostly unlocks items from Hernand's vendor, so it matters most early. If this is one of your first moves in Hernand, consider gaining a few levels with the locals first.
- Bring a Mask and a Key. The Back Alley merchant sells Keys for 30 Copper each, so buy a few.
- Enter through the main door. Unlock the door on your left with the Key, and make sure it's closed after you pass through.
- Loot the strongboxes and chests. Take the strongboxes on the shelves and the chests on the ground. Keep your Mask on while you open them.
- Wait for the crime meter to clear. Stay in the strongbox room until it's gone, then leave.
Mine Diamonds in Crimson Desert for Steady Income
Mining is what keeps money coming after the early boosts. You'll need a Pickaxe, which you get during the "Rhett's Request" side mission. Once you have it, head into the caves around Hernand, where Diamonds are usually deep inside and harder to reach.
Each deposit usually holds 6 to 8 Diamonds. Once you've found one, it stays marked on your map, so you can return to it. Deposits refill slowly, though, so spread your visits out rather than trying to empty one cave in a single trip.
Sell Bandit Loot and Animal Parts While You Explore
Fighting is where you'll spend most of your time, so it's an easy place to earn. Bandits on the roads outside Hernand and in nearby camps drop Masks and Coin Purses, and each one has a clear use:
- Masks: Sell them to merchants, where they sell well.
- Coin Purses: Open them from your inventory for Silver.
- Spare weapons and armor: Sell them to merchants when you return to a town.
- Animal parts: Hides, meat, and horns from hunted animals sell to vendors.
For a focused run, the area around Fort Perwin has dense enemy groups, and you can loot dozens of Masks in one session. Every major settlement also has a Bounty Board near the guard captain. Bring a wanted bandit to the jailers in the city to collect the reward.
Hunting pays out the same way. Deer in the woods drop hides, meat, and sometimes horns, so skin them and sell the parts to vendors. Spare materials can also upgrade leather armor at a blacksmith, and the better armor sells for more. Carry space limits how much you can haul back, so buy bags from vendors when you can.
Win Silver at Duo and Five-Card Tables
Card games are optional. They can add up when you win, but results depend on the cards you're dealt and the players you face, so don't plan on them as your main income.
Duo is the simpler, lower-stakes game, and you'll find its table upstairs at the inn in Hernand. You're dealt five sticks and combine three of them to total 10, 20, or 30. The other two sticks set your hand strength. From best to worst, the hands rank like this:
- Pair of 10
- Any pair
- 9 points
- 8 points
- 7 points or less
- Zero or failure, which means folding right away
Five-Card is the higher-stakes version, found in northern settlements. It adds card colors into the hand rankings, and the buy-ins are higher, so get comfortable with Duo before you sit down.
