All 7 Boats in 100 Days At Sea

Updated on (about 11 hours ago)

Boats are the vehicles you place or equip on water to hop islands, reach bosses, and move loot. Each usable boat is an inventory item (or a class starter) with its own top speed, cargo rules, and passenger count. Cosmetic and raid hulls that you cannot pilot as your own craft stay out of this lineup.

Use case

Early boats

2 items

Start here for your first real water craft. The free Fisherman Island Dinghy path beats grinding a Raft once you can reach that island. Both can haul items; the Dinghy is simply faster, seats more people, and usually costs nothing.

Dinghy

Best first boat for most runs. Faster than the Raft, seats three, hauls items, and is often free once you hit Fisherman Island.

Use case

Solo speed

2 items

Built for empty-handed island hopping. Jetski and UFO trade cargo for top speed and a single seat. The UFO equips from inventory instead of placing on water, so it stays with you between islands, but it still cannot haul loot or enter dungeons.

UFO

Fastest boat in the game. Stays as an inventory item you equip on demand, so it is always with you for pure island hopping.

Cargo & crew

2 items

Slower tops than the solo speed boats, but they haul items and carry a full party. Yacht is the mid-speed team pick; Galleon seats the most people and often comes from the Ghost Galleon green chest after a clear.

Class exclusive

1 items

Millionaire-only starter boat. Public boat guides leave speed, cargo, and passenger numbers blank, so treat it as a class perk vehicle rather than a craft-and-compare row.

Massive Luxury Yacht

Class-only luxury boat tied to Millionaire. Useful for early travel and economy starts, but public guides do not publish firm speed or cargo stats.

Your boat choice is really a job pick: free early travel, solo island hopping, or hauling people and loot with a crew. Speed wins when you are empty-handed and chaining islands. Cargo wins when you need to bring materials, chests, or teammates home without swimming the gap.

Anglerfish cruise around speed 40. Anything slower than that loses a fair chase, which is why the free Dinghy feels like a real upgrade the moment it replaces a starter Raft.

What to unlock first

Push toward Fisherman Island early. After you rescue the Fisherman, the Fisherman's Hut path often hands you a free Dinghy. Some runs also pull a Dinghy from island chests, so treat it as multi-path free loot rather than a guaranteed single spawn.

Skip pouring early Metal, Wood, and Goop into a Raft once that free Dinghy is in reach. The Raft hauls for one person, but it is the slowest usable boat and falls behind the Anglerfish band hard. Craft the Raft only if you truly have no other water craft yet.

Solo speed vs cargo

JobBest fitWhy
Pure island hoppingUFO, then JetskiTop speeds, one seat, no cargo
Everyday solo travel without UFOJetskiFastest craftable boat; cheap recipe
Free early haulDinghySpeed 42, three seats, hauls items
Team haulYacht, then GalleonMore seats and cargo; slower tops
Class giftMassive Luxury YachtMillionaire only; public stats incomplete

If you already run Alien Overlord, the UFO is your meta mobility tool: max speed 100, inventory equip so it never leaves your pocket, one seat, no item haul, and no dungeon use. Equipping it under a structure spawns the craft above that structure. Without the class, you can still find a UFO on the UFO alien island.

Without a UFO, craft the Jetski (15 Metal, 15 Wood, 2 Goop) or buy it from the MukuMuku merchant when you want speed. It does not carry items, so treat it as a scout and ferry for empty trips, not a loot truck.

For group runs, craft or buy the Yacht (35 Metal, 60 Wood, 10 Goop) when five seats and cargo matter more than raw speed. The Galleon seats six and hauls, but tops out slower; grab it from craft when ready, or clear the Ghost Galleon route and open the green chest after the fight. The Ghost Galleon structure itself is not your player boat, only the Galleon item from that chest (or craft) is.

Millionaire starts with the Massive Luxury Yacht (also called Jumbo Luxury Yacht or Luxury Yacht in class guides). Guides do not publish firm speed, cargo, or passenger numbers for it, so plan around the class economy perk rather than a speed table row.

Common mistakes

  • Crafting the Raft out of habit after Fisherman Island. Free Dinghy first; spend materials on Jetski or Yacht instead.
  • Using a no-cargo boat for a full loot trip. Jetski and UFO force multi-trips or swimming luggage. Switch to Dinghy, Yacht, or Galleon when the hold is full.
  • Expecting the UFO to work in dungeons. Keep a water boat for those runs.
  • Treating raid or NPC hulls as inventory boats. Sinister vessels, raid Ghost Galleons, the Cargo Ship island, the MukuMuku merchant raft, and Buku Buku attack craft are not the same system as the boats you equip from inventory.

Pick the slowest boat that still does the job you need right now, then climb speed once cargo is solved.

FAQ

Q.

What is the fastest boat in 100 Days At Sea?

The UFO at max speed 100. The Jetski is next at 80 and is the fastest craftable option if you do not have a UFO.

Q.

How do you get the free Dinghy?

Reach Fisherman Island and follow the Fisherman rescue path. The Fisherman's Hut often gives a free Dinghy, and some runs also find one in island chests. You can still craft one or buy it from MukuMuku if the free path misses.

Q.

Should you craft the Raft?

Only if you have no other boat yet. Once a free Dinghy is available, skip the Raft. It is much slower and only seats one player.

Q.

Which boats can carry items?

Dinghy, Raft, Yacht, and Galleon can haul items. UFO and Jetski cannot. Massive Luxury Yacht cargo is not listed in public boat guides.

Q.

How do you get the Jetski and Yacht?

Craft them at the crafting table or buy them from the MukuMuku merchant. Jetski costs 15 Metal, 15 Wood, and 2 Goop. Yacht costs 35 Metal, 60 Wood, and 10 Goop. Merchant Doubloon prices are not published in the main boat guides.

Q.

How do you get the Galleon?

Craft it when you can, or clear the Ghost Galleon (Ghost Raids / summoned galleon route) and open the green chest for the player Galleon item. The Ghost Galleon structure is not a usable inventory boat.

Q.

How do you get the UFO?

Pick Alien Overlord for the class starter, or find one on the UFO alien island. It equips from inventory, seats one, does not haul items, and cannot be used in dungeons.

Q.

What boat does Millionaire start with?

The Massive Luxury Yacht, also called Jumbo Luxury Yacht or Luxury Yacht in class guides. It is class exclusive. Public boat pages do not give firm speed or cargo stats for it.

Q.

Can every boat outrun Anglerfish?

Anglerfish sit near speed 40. Boats at or above that band handle chases much better. The Raft at 16 loses those races; Dinghy and faster craft are safer for open water.
