All 22 Companions in 100 Days At Sea

Updated on (8 days ago)

Companions are passive pets you unlock in the Companion Shop by spending Pearls on chests. Each open rolls a random pet from that chest's pool. You equip one at a time, and its buff stays on for combat, movement, hunger, healing, or passive gathering while you sail.

Pearls are the currency that feeds the Companion Shop. You pick up Pearls from daily quests, island and map chests, achievements or badges, codes, and a later bonfire craft path once you are deeper into the run. You never buy a named companion directly. You buy a chest, open it, and hope the weighted table lands on the buff you need.

Chest prices climb as the pools get stronger: Fisherman's Chest costs 40 Pearls, Warrior Chest costs 80, and Ice, Pirate, and Magma chests each cost 120. Spend early Pearls on Fisherman's when you only need a small health, hunger, gun, sprint, or melee bump. Save larger stacks for the 120-Pearl chests when you want higher percentages, food timers, bandages, loot pickup, or crowd control.

A few companions sit in more than one chest. Shark can drop from Fisherman's or Warrior. Dolphin can drop from Fisherman's or Magma. Swordfish can drop from Warrior or Pirate. That matters when you are chasing one of those three: you can take the cheaper chest for a shot, or the alternate chest if you already planned to open it for other rolls.

What to equip for your run

Match the buff to the pressure you feel most often:

NeedStrong picksWhy
Melee fightsShark, Swordfish, Polar Bear, Magma GolemMelee damage from +7.5% up to +10%
Gun fightsCrab, Parrot, Pirate GunnerGun damage from +5% up to +10%
Speed and islandsDolphin, Cat, Arctic WolfSprint buffs for scouting and kiting
SurvivalTurtle, Snorf, Orca, WhaleMax health bumps so hits hurt less
Food and hungerFrog, Lava Snail, Seagull, CrowLess hunger, or food delivered every 120s
Passive valueOctopus, Salamander, Penguin, SnowmanMaterials, loot pickup, bandages, or enemy slow

Rare rolls with big utility (Salamander loot, Penguin bandages, Snowman slow, Pirate Gunner guns, Swordfish and Magma Golem melee) are worth keeping equipped once you have them. Common rolls still fill early gaps: a Turtle or Frog from Fisherman's is better than sailing with no companion at all.

How to spend Pearls without wasting them

  • Open Fisherman's first when Pearls are tight. You get cheap rolls and still have a path to Shark or Dolphin later from other chests.
  • Use Warrior when you want materials (Octopus) or a second shot at Shark and Swordfish without jumping to 120 Pearls yet.
  • Pick Ice when you want high-tier sprint, melee, or health commons, or you are hunting Penguin and Snowman.
  • Pick Pirate for gun damage and food (Parrot, Pirate Gunner, Seagull) plus another Swordfish line.
  • Pick Magma for food and hunger (Crow, Lava Snail), Magma Golem melee, Salamander loot, and the better Dolphin rate if you still need sprint.

Common mistakes

  • Saving every Pearl for a rare before equipping anything. A common Fisherman's or Warrior buff is free power while you farm more Pearls.
  • Opening the wrong 120-Pearl chest for your build. Pirate and Magma both cost the same as Ice; gun players want Pirate, loot and hunger players lean Magma, speed and control players lean Ice.
  • Ignoring multi-chest pets. If Shark, Dolphin, or Swordfish is your target, check which chests still share that roll before you dump a full stack into one pool.
  • Treating drop percents as permanent. Rates on the cards can shift with patches. Trust the buff identity more than a single percentage if the shop updates.

Equip the companion that fixes your current bottleneck, swap when a better roll lands, and let Pearls go into the chest that matches the job you still need.

FAQ

Q.

How do you get companions in 100 Days At Sea?

Earn Pearls, open the Companion Shop, buy a chest, and open it. Each chest rolls a random companion from its pool. Equip the one you want; only one companion stays active at a time.

Q.

How do you earn Pearls?

Pearls come from daily quests, island and map chests, achievements or badges, codes, and a later bonfire craft path. Spend them on Companion Shop chests, not on named pets directly.

Q.

Can you equip more than one companion?

No. You equip one companion at a time. Its passive buff stays active until you swap to another companion you have unlocked.

Q.

Which companions drop from more than one chest?

Shark can drop from Fisherman's or Warrior. Dolphin can drop from Fisherman's or Magma. Swordfish can drop from Warrior or Pirate. Drop rates differ by chest, so check the notes on each card if you are hunting one of those three.

Q.

Which companion chest should you buy first?

Start with Fisherman's Chest at 40 Pearls when you need any early buff. Move to Warrior at 80 Pearls for materials and better melee lines, then spend 120-Pearl stacks on Ice, Pirate, or Magma based on whether you want control and sprint, guns and food, or loot and hunger help.

Q.

What are the best companions for combat?

For melee, aim for Shark (+7.5%) or the +10% group: Swordfish, Polar Bear, and Magma Golem. For guns, climb from Crab to Parrot, then Pirate Gunner at +10%. Pair combat pets with health companions like Orca or Whale if you keep getting chunked.

Q.

Which companions help with food and survival?

Frog and Lava Snail reduce hunger. Seagull and Crow bring food every 120 seconds. Penguin spawns bandages on a longer timer. Turtle, Snorf, Orca, and Whale raise max health so you survive hits better.

Q.

Is Salamander worth the Magma Chest?

If you hate running around for ground loot, yes. Salamander picks up and delivers nearby loot for you. It is a rare Magma roll, so treat it as a lucky utility win rather than a guaranteed buy.
