How to get and evolve The Drink in Anime Expeditions

Updated on August 12, 2026 (about 3 hours ago)

The Drink is the Trunks-inspired Mythic from Warrior Saga (Update 1.0) in Anime Expeditions. Players call it Trunks. The roster label is The Drink, and the evolve form is The Drink (Juicebox).

You do not grind a long multi-quest line for the base unit. You run East Town Expedition, hit an Encounter node, talk to the Trunks / Drink NPC, claim a Toy Capsule, then clear the capsule stage. That path is separate from banner Mythics like Carrot or Bioinsect, and from the Prodigy Scholar's Trial on East Town Story.

How to get and evolve The Drink in Anime Expeditions

How to unlock The Drink with the Toy Capsule

  1. Open the Expedition Map and enter the East Town Expedition.
  2. Route toward an Encounter node and clear into that fight.
  3. After you spawn, find the Trunks / The Drink NPC and hold E to talk.
  4. Claim the Toy Capsule from that interaction.
  5. Return to lobby and set your best squad before you open it.
  6. Open Inventory, select the Toy Capsule, and choose Use Item to enter the special stage.
  7. Clear the stage to unlock base Mythic The Drink.

Encounter nodes are RNG. The right NPC is not guaranteed every Expedition run, so keep replaying East Town Encounter routes until Trunks shows up.

The Toy Capsule is treated as one-time use. Opening it with a weak team can burn the capsule and leave you empty-handed. Bring farm units for Yen, place your strongest upgraded carries, and only then use the item.

Do not confuse Ballin' Drink (a cosmetic name in update lists) with the unit. East Town Story quests near the basketball court are the Prodigy path, not the Drink Encounter.

How to evolve The Drink into The Drink (Juicebox)

Evolved form: The Drink (Juicebox). Reported Evolve materials (confirm on the in-game Evolve panel if your list differs):

  • 20× Sprite (Red)
  • 20× Sprite (Blue)
  • 1× Sprite (Rainbow)
  • 10,000 Gold

This unit does not use a unique trial item like Medication or Rage Catalyst. Sprites come from Challenges and crafting Grey Sprites into color and Rainbow Sprites. Gold comes from normal Story and Expedition clears.

Evolve in the lobby through Upgrades → Evolve. For the shared lobby flow and sprite loop, use how to evolve units in Anime Expeditions.

What The Drink (Juicebox) does

Once evolved, the kit is built around The Drink Mark, Follow-Up Attacks, and a short transform.

Precision Slash

Every 6 regular attacks, apply The Drink Mark for 15 seconds. Marked targets take +10% Follow-Up Attack damage and gain 10% Physical Weakness.

Quick Assist

When a Follow-Up Attack happens inside this unit's range, The Drink fires its own Follow-Up at 150% of current damage and applies Precision Slash.

Perfected Strikes

While in The Drink Transformation, applying The Drink Mark makes this unit's Follow-Up Attacks critically strike and deal +15% critical damage.

Golden Ascension (ability)

Transform for 60 seconds: Precision Slash attacks required -1, Follow-Up Attack damage +15%, SPA -10%, Range +10%.

Place The Drink where allies already create Follow-Ups so Quick Assist and the Mark keep firing. It plays as Follow-Up support with a Physical-side buff, not a pure solo carry. Unit equipment Pointy Straw exists for Juicebox and can change Precision Slash numbers, so trust the base kit text first, then check gear tooltips.

FAQ

Q.

Is The Drink the same as Trunks in Anime Expeditions?

Yes. The in-game unit is named The Drink and evolves to The Drink (Juicebox). Players often call it Trunks from the design.

Q.

Can you summon The Drink from banners?

The primary unlock is the Toy Capsule stage from the East Town Expedition Encounter, not normal banner pity. Check the live Summons UI after patches, but plan around the Encounter path first.

Q.

What does the Toy Capsule do?

Using the Toy Capsule opens a special stage. Clear that stage to unlock Mythic The Drink. Prepare your best squad first, because the capsule is treated as one-time use.

Q.

What materials do you need to evolve The Drink?

Reported list for The Drink (Juicebox): 20 Red Sprites, 20 Blue Sprites, 1 Rainbow Sprite, and 10,000 Gold. Confirm on the in-game Evolve panel if your list differs.
