Prodigy is the free Secret unit from Warrior Saga (Update 1.0). Think Gohan energy with an in-game name that sticks to Prodigy and Prodigy (Rage).
You do not pull base Prodigy from a banner. You finish The Scholar's Trial on East Town, claim the unit, then evolve it into Prodigy (Rage) for the full passive set and ability. How to unlock Prodigy from The Scholar's Trial
Reach East Town Story (Act 1) and load an active stage (not sandbox).
Talk to the Prodigy NPC near the basketball court, right of the portal. Accept The Scholar's Trial. Progress lives under Quests.
Bioinsect's Perfection's Trial gates this path, so finish that NPC first if Prodigy will not open. The East Town guide covers that gate end to end.
Reported Scholar's Trial objectives (recheck the quest UI after patches; order can shuffle):
- Complete East Town one time
- Participate in one Tournament (join is enough; you do not need the win)
- Clear a Boss Node on East Town Difficulty 3
- Collect 350 Mechanical Scrap (farm East Town Expedition; watch the quest counter)
- Clear 150 waves with Bioinsect (Final Form)
- Complete Prodigy's Trial (preset Unit Trial from the quest UI)
- Evolve one unit
- Clear 150 waves with Carrot (Unleashed)
Carrot and Bioinsect come from the Standard or Mini Banner. Evolve them to Carrot (Unleashed) and Bioinsect (Final Form) before or during the 150-wave grinds. For lobby Evolve steps and the usual sprite loop, use how to evolve units in Anime Expeditions.
Prodigy's Trial is a preset Unit Trial, not a full custom raid. Open it from the quest UI, finish the run, and move on.
When every objective is done, claim at the Prodigy NPC or quest reward. You get base Secret Prodigy in inventory. Lock the unit if you use Sell All often. This reward is not Prodigy (Rage) yet.
How to evolve Prodigy into Prodigy (Rage)
Open the Evolve menu with base Prodigy selected and gather:

Craft color and Rainbow Sprites from Grey Sprites (Story and Challenges), same pattern as other Secret evolves. Gold comes from normal clears.
Rage Catalyst drops from Prodigy's Unit Quest (the Hidden Potential path after you own the unit). Finish that unit-quest line for the catalyst, then evolve.
Costs can shift in a hotfix. If the Evolve panel shows different numbers, trust the live menu over any printed list.
What Prodigy (Rage) does
Deploy: Secret rarity, Physical + Light, 1,150 Yen place cost, spawn limit 1.
Hidden Potential
- On Upgrade 3, transforms into Prodigy Transformation.
- Every 3 regular attacks deal 50% of this unit's damage to all enemies in range.
- On Upgrade 5, unlocks Rage Unleashed.
Rage Unleashed
- Prodigy Meter starts at 0.
- +5 meter per regular attack; +1 when enemies leave range.
- At 100 stacks, transform into Prodigy Transformation 2: +25% damage, and every 3 regular attacks deal 75% damage to all in range.
Unyielding Spirit
- Regular attacks vs status-affected enemies deal +10% damage per stack of each status (cap 100).
- Against a DoT status, refresh duration and set this unit as source, once per DoT type per enemy.
Father and Son Spirit Energy (ability)
- Aim a point in range for 10 seconds.
- Enemies in the beam take 75% of this unit's damage every second.
- The unit does not auto-attack while the ability is active.
- 90-second per-player cooldown.

Prodigy is a free Secret chase and a strong evolved DPS once Rage is online. You do not need it for every story clear, but it is one of the cleaner Warrior Saga rewards if you already farm East Town.
