Bioinsect is the Cell-inspired Mythic unit from Warrior Saga (Update 1.0) in Anime Expeditions. Pull it on banners, clear its trial path for Bioinsect Core (and East Town Mechanical Wings gear), evolve it into Bioinsect (Final Form), then ramp Imperfect → Semiperfect → Perfect while copying and buffing your strongest nearby unit.
It is a slow-start support and stall hybrid, not a pure self-DPS carry. The fun is the form climb: every 50 takedowns spawns a path boss you have to beat before the next form unlocks.
Pull Bioinsect, clear its trial, then evolve to Final Form
Summon Bioinsect from Standard or Mini Banner
- Open the lobby Summons spot.
- Check the Standard Banner and Mini Banner for Bioinsect as a featured Mythic.
- Spend Gems only while it is featured, unless you are fine waiting on pity.
Mythic odds are commonly reported as 0.25%, with a 400-summon pity while featured. Standard rotates several Mythics each hour (center slot is the stronger feature). Mini features one Mythic at a time. Wait for Bioinsect to show before dumping Gems if you can.
Clear the Unit Trial for Bioinsect Core and Mechanical Wings
After you own Bioinsect, run its Unit Trial (often labeled A Perfect Challenge). Clear 15 waves, with Bioinsect (Final Form) as the final-wave boss. That clear is the reported source of Bioinsect Core, the unique evolution material.
On East Town, the Bioinsect NPC (left of the portal, near the beach during an active stage) frames the same path as Perfection's Trial. Finish that quest and you also get Mechanical Wings plus 15× Equipment Reroll. Full NPC steps sit in how to complete East Town quests in Anime Expeditions.
Unit Trials are endgame-style presets. Bring a team you already trust; this is not a free tutorial stage.
Evolve to Bioinsect (Final Form)
Evolved form: Bioinsect (Final Form). Reported Evolve materials (confirm on the in-game Evolve panel if your list differs):
- 20× Sprite (Red)
- 20× Sprite (Pink)
- 1× Sprite (Rainbow)
- 1× Bioinsect Core
- 10,000 Gold
Sprites come from Challenges and crafting. Grey Sprites craft into colored and Rainbow Sprites. The Core is the trial-unique piece above.
Some notes also treat Mechanical Wings as an evolution material. The usual material list above does not include Wings. Treat Wings as Final Form unit equipment from Perfection's Trial (also listed at Armory Forge), and trust the Evolve preview if the game asks for something else.

Equip Mechanical Wings on Final Form when you have them. That gear grants Genetic Duplication: summon 1 Mini Bioinsect at Bioinsect's position (capacity 1). The Mini stays permanently Imperfect, has no passives or abilities, keeps full SPA and Range, and buffs the strongest unit in range by 10% damage. Mini damage share is reported around 45% of current damage (some unit kits list about 35%). Check the in-game tooltip and use the number your panel shows.
How Final Form works once it is on the map
Final Form starts Imperfect and climbs forms by scoring takedowns, then beating the bosses it spawns on the path.
Passive Absorption (form chain)
- Imperfect: after 50 takedowns, spawns Mecha 17 (10,000 HP). Defeat it → Semiperfect.
- Semiperfect: after 50 takedowns, spawns Mecha 18 (20,000 HP). Defeat it → Perfect.
Genetic Code and control tools
- Imperfect: copies 50% of the strongest unit's base Damage in range, and raises that unit's Damage by 10%.
- Semiperfect: attacks apply Bio Gel (Slow 60% for 5 seconds, then Stun 3 seconds when the slow ends). Genetic Duplication / Mini access unlocks around this stage of the kit.
- Perfect: unlocks Bio Reset. On takedown of Bio Gel targets, gain +0.2% Range (cap 30%) and +0.4% AoE size (cap 20%).
Bio Reset (Perfect ability): on activation, return to Imperfect and permanently gain +1% Damage and +1% Range (range stacks reported with capacity 15), on a per-unit cooldown. If the ability feels off, recheck the tooltip after updates.
Placement tips
Put Bioinsect where it can actually score the 50 takedowns that spawn Mecha 17 and 18. Keep your highest base-damage ally inside its range so the 50% copy + 10% buff does real work. Early waves feel slow; the kit pays off after forms and Bio Gel start stacking control.
Unit cards also report Terra + Magical typings, and a Final Form spawn cost around 1350 Yen. Confirm those on your card if you build around them.
In longer modes, Bioinsect shines as support and stall once forms and Bio Gel are online. For wider roster ranking, see best units in Anime Expeditions.
