What to do first in Anime Expeditions

Updated on July 19, 2026 (about 5 hours ago)

Anime Expeditions throws quests, banners, raids, traits, and evolution at you the second you load in. Use a short first-session order so you learn the tower defense loop and grow without burning Gems and Trait Crystals on junk.

Under the noise the game is simple: place anime units, stop waves from reaching your base, clear Story stages, and get stronger between runs.

What to do first in Anime Expeditions

Start with free rewards, the Beginner Path, and Story Mode

Do these in order. Skipping ahead into every mode just stalls you.

  1. Redeem active codes. Free Gems, Trait Crystals, and rerolls land here first. Grab them on the Anime Expeditions codes page, then redeem at Razorjaw (Hunter) near the Tournament platform, or open the menu (...) and pick Redeem Codes.
  2. Clear the Beginner Path. It is the real tutorial dressed up as missions. Path rewards include Gold, Gems, Stat Rerolls, Stat Locks, starter equipment, Grey Sprites, and Beginner Tickets.
  3. Spend Beginner Tickets on the Beginner Banner. Tickets belong on that banner. Pull there first so early summons favor higher-tier units instead of random filler.
  4. Push Story Mode. Story stages unlock content, pay Gems and Gold, and open later systems. Maps run through School Grounds, Flower Forest, Rose Kingdom, Fairy King Forest, and King's Tomb. Finish chapters before hopping into every side mode.

Inside a stage the loop stays the same. Place units, spend in-stage Cash to upgrade them, clear waves, claim rewards, then improve the roster for the next Story stage. Hard difficulty pays more Gems when your team can handle it.

Leave Expedition Mode, Raids, and tournaments alone until you have Story footing. Expedition unlocks at player level 20. Raid unlocks at player level 25. Those modes are fine later. They are not where you should dump time on day one.

While you are in the lobby, open the free tabs. Daily Calendar, Daily and Weekly Quests, Achievements, Level Milestones, Unit Index, Events, and the Battle Pass track all pay out. Hit the AFK Chamber when you are idle so rewards do not sit unclaimed.

Build a simple team and save the scarce resources

After tickets, spend most Gems on the Standard Banner so your roster gets wide. Save the Mini Banner for when you are hunting a specific featured unit. Do not empty every Gem the second it drops.

Early teams want solid damage dealers. Enemies that never die still leak to the base no matter how pretty the supports look. Pure supports matter more in Challenges and Raids later. Names and roles for the full roster live on Anime Expeditions units. Early targets that show up often include Flame Emperor, String Demon, Reaper, Lady Giant, and Elf Mage. Treat them as strong starting goals, not a permanent ranking. Meta shifts after launch.

Hold Trait Crystals until you own keepers (Mythic, Secret, or other long-term units). Starter units get replaced fast, and top traits such as Unbound, Primordial, Forsaken, and Draconic are rare. Reroll at the lobby station between Evolve and Crafting, and check Anime Expeditions traits before you spend.

Start collecting evolution materials and Grey Sprites early. Grey Sprites craft into colored Sprites for evolutions. Do not evolve random fillers just because the button lights up. Material names for that path sit under Anime Expeditions items.

Stat Rerolls and Stat Locks drop from the Path, stages, and codes. Early rolls on temporary units barely matter. When a keeper finally sticks, how to reroll stats in Anime Expeditions covers the system without wasting locks.

Once Story is rolling, deeper farming routes and mid-game modes become useful. Stick to freebies, Path, tickets, and Story until then, and keep scarce mats for keepers.

An avid Roblox player who loves exploring the small, niche games that quietly show up in my recommendations. I track new Roblox codes across social platforms and update them on Bloxodes as soon as they drop. I prefer writing guides based on real gameplay experience instead of plain surface level info, so players get tips that actually help in game. My favorite Roblox game is Egg Farm Simulator.
