Throw Food For Animals is a Roblox game where you throw food to catch pets that earn you money every second. Mutations are special versions of those pets that make them worth more. There are five of them, and each one multiplies both a pet's sale value and its earning rate, with Rainbow giving the biggest boost at 20x.
| Mutation | Chance on a Normal Throw | Multiplier | Appearance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 13% | 1.5x | Sparkling golden skin |
| Diamond | 4% | 3x | Crystal-like skin |
| Emerald | 2% | 5x | Green |
| Ruby | 1% | 10x | Red, ruby-like |
| Rainbow | 0.5% | 20x | Multicolored |
What Each Throw Food For Animals Mutation Does to Your Pets
A mutation boosts two things at once: what a pet sells for and how much it earns every second. A Gold pet is worth 1.5 times the same pet without a mutation, while a Rainbow pet is worth 20 times as much. Because both numbers rise together, one mutated pet can make a real difference to your income.
Each mutation also has its own look, so you can tell a Rainbow pet from a Gold one at a glance. That matters when you decide what to do with your pets. You can keep a mutated pet to keep it earning, or sell it when you want quick cash.

How Often a Throw Gives a Pet a Mutation
Every catch gets one roll for a mutation, and most catches come up empty. On a Normal Throw, about 79.5% of pets have no mutation at all. The rest are split among the five mutations, so a mutated pet is the exception rather than the rule.
Gold shows up the most often, and Rainbow is the rarest, which makes a Rainbow pet a real find. A pet can only have one mutation at a time, so a Rainbow pet can't also be Gold. Expect plenty of plain pets, and treat each mutated one as a bonus.
How Luck and Throw Type Change Your Mutation Odds
Your odds depend on two things: the type of throw you make and your Luck multiplier. A Lucky Throw gives mutations a better chance than a Normal Throw. Its exact percentages move with your Luck, though, so there isn't one fixed set of numbers to memorize.
Luck is the part you can build up before a throw. These are the main ways to raise it:
- Train your Throw Power. A stronger throw sends the food farther, and the food gains Luck as it covers more distance in the air.
- Buy higher-tier food. Better food raises your Luck before the throw.
- Buy the Lucky Throw power-up. It's sold for Robux and bought before you throw to improve your chances.
Each of these shifts the numbers, which is why the odds are worth checking before every throw.
How to Check Mutation Odds Before You Throw
The game shows the exact chances for the throw you're setting up, so you don't have to guess. Follow these steps:
- Go to the map and start preparing a throw. The Details button only appears at this stage.
- Press Details to open the chances for that throw.
- Read the mutation percentages. They reflect the Luck that throw has.
- Change your setup if you want better odds, such as training Throw Power, picking higher-tier food, or adding the Lucky Throw power-up. Then open Details again to see what changed.
Checking after each change is the only reliable way to know what a throw is worth, since the same throw type can show different chances from one setup to the next.

How Mutations Combine With Pet Sizes
Pets in Throw Food For Animals also come in nine sizes: Big, Large, Huge, Colossal, Gigantic, Titanic, Monstrous, Cosmic, and Infinite. A pet can have a mutation and a size at the same time, and the two don't replace each other. Both raise a pet's sale value and earning rate.
The two effects combine on the same pet, so the most valuable catch has a top mutation and a top size. That's why a Rainbow pet at Infinite size sits at the top of what you can catch.
