Sony, Microsoft and Rockstar have not announced an official PS5 or Xbox Series X|S bundle that includes Grand Theft Auto VI, as of November 6, 2026. The game releases on November 19, 2026, on both consoles and is sold on its own. The closest link is a Japan-only PS5 color model that Sony announced on October 13, 2026, which launches the same day but does not include the game.

Sony, Microsoft and Rockstar Have Not Announced a GTA 6 Console Bundle
Rockstar's official Grand Theft Auto VI page lists a November 19, 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and its game and platform pages offer the game by itself. The same goes for Xbox Series X|S, where no Microsoft bundle has been announced. This is the status of official announcements so far, not a promise that no bundle will ever come.
Until one is announced, the way to play on launch day is to own a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S and buy the game separately. The closest official GTA VI hardware is a pair of GTA VI Limited Edition DualSense wireless controllers, which PlayStation announced on September 3, 2026 for November 19. They are accessories, not a console, so they don't change the answer.
What the Japan-Only Midnight Black PS5 Includes
Sony announced the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Midnight Black Japanese-Only, model CFI-2200B02S, on October 13, 2026. It is a more affordable, deep black version of the Japan-only PS5 with an 825 GB SSD and no built-in disc drive. It launches November 19, 2026, in Japan at a recommended retail price of ¥55,000 including tax.

The console keeps the PS5's main features, including its high-speed SSD, 3D audio, PS4 backward compatibility, and the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Sony's list of included items is:
- One PS5 Digital Edition Midnight Black Japanese-Only console (825 GB SSD)
- One DualSense wireless controller
- Two horizontal feet
- HDMI cable, power cord and USB cable
- Printed materials
- Preinstalled ASTRO's PLAYROOM
Grand Theft Auto VI isn't on that list. Sony's announcement does list the game among titles launching on November 19, but the date match is just timing, not a bundle. The Midnight Black disc drive is sold separately and also launches November 19, and the stand is sold separately too.
Who Can Use the Japan-Only Midnight Black PS5
Sony says the console can be used only with a PlayStation account whose system language is set to Japanese and whose country or region is set to Japan. Buyers would need to match their region, store account, language and payment method to Japan's requirements. In practice, that means:
- A PlayStation account with the system language set to Japanese
- A country or region setting of Japan
- A Japan-issued credit or debit card for purchases rated 18+
If you live outside Japan, the standard PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game are the ones that apply to you.
