How the Duels Machine works and what to expect
The Duels Machine update launches on January 10, 2026, at 20:00 UTC (12:00 PM PT) and runs until January 14 at 09:00 AM PT. When you interact with the Duel Machine, you send a duel invite to a player on your server. If they accept, you both get teleported to a private duel server with just your bases.
Here’s the step-by-step process:
- Stand near the Duel Machine and open the duel screen.
- Pick a player on your server to challenge.
- Once accepted, you enter a private duel server.
- Choose one brainrot from your collection to bet.
- Review your opponent’s wagered brainrot.
- Press READY, wait for the 5-second countdown, then Confirm to start.
- Fight a best-of-five PvP match using free duel gear.
- The winner takes the opponent’s brainrot; both return to the public server.
Each duel is a gamble because you risk losing the brainrot you bet. The game shows the earnings per second for each brainrot so you can judge if the trade is worth it. For example, you might bet a brainrot earning $4.9 billion per second against one earning $1.4 billion. It’s your call whether that risk makes sense.
Note that some brainrots have special mutations or abilities that add value beyond their earnings. Look for icons above their heads when choosing what to bet.
Choosing the right brainrot to bet
Don’t rush to wager your rarest brainrots. Start with mid-tier ones so you can get a feel for dueling without risking your top collection. Pay attention to your opponent’s offer. If their brainrot is much weaker, it might not be worth the risk unless you want to practice or are confident in your skills.
Winning a duel means you get a new brainrot to boost your collection, while losing means you lose the one you bet. This adds a thrilling layer to the game where every fight matters.
Extra perks during the Duels event
You can find the Shop on the left side of the screen during the event. Scroll to the bottom to find the code redeem box. The only confirmed code related to this update is the Festive 67 Plush code, which was emailed to players who bought the Festive 67 Plush toy on December 13, 2025. This code is limited to 50,000 players and gives a unique reward.
Currently, there are no other public Duels codes, and general Steal a Brainrot codes mostly come from merch drops. Keep an eye out for new codes to get extra bonuses.
