Bug Evolution is a Roblox survival game by Corgi Crew where you play as a bug that starts life as a Spider Egg. Roll into the glowing orbs to earn XP, and your bug grows into a Spiderling at level 5 and an adult Garden Spider at level 12. At level 12, the Bug Tree lets you unlock your first new bug, and the Housefly and Grasshopper each cost 200 coins.

Bug Evolution PC Controls and Early Survival Basics
You play Bug Evolution with a keyboard and mouse. These are the keys to learn first:
- W, A, S, D: Move
- Spacebar: Jump
- Left mouse button: Bite, your main attack and the one you'll use in every fight and hunt
- Q: Ability 1
- E: Interact
- R: Auto
- T: Bug Tree
- G: Team menu
T and G matter most in your first session. T opens the Bug Tree, where coins buy new bugs, and G opens the Team menu. Knowing both saves you from digging through menus while other bugs close in.
Survival comes down to stats. Each bug has its own stat spread, and in a fight your bug needs stats that match or beat its opponent's, or it will likely lose. Many bugs are much bigger than a young one, so it's usually wiser to walk away. Other players can attack too, so check their level before you engage, since a large gap can end a fight quickly.

How Your Bug Grows From Spider Egg to Garden Spider and Which Traits to Pick
Every run starts as a Spider Egg. XP does two jobs: it levels your bug up and ages it through its life stages. Stage changes happen automatically once you reach the right level. At level 5, the egg hatches into a Spiderling, and at level 12, the Spiderling becomes an adult Garden Spider. As your bug grows, it gets larger and better able to fend off other bugs.
Your starting bug line is free, and new players get a Bonus XP boost that speeds up the opening levels. Use that head start to collect orbs and finish quests.
Traits are passive bonuses you unlock as you grow. On the Garden Spider line, the first trait prompt comes at level 10. The game offers three at random, and you keep the one you pick, so read the whole card, since some traits trade one stat for another.
- Big Appetite: +10% XP gain, no drawback
- Long Legs: +8% movement speed, no drawback
- Thick Carapace: +12% max health, no drawback
- Glass Fangs: +15% bite damage, but -8% max health
Glass Fangs is the trade to watch. It hits harder but makes you easier to kill, which is a poor deal when nearly everyone on the server outranks you. Pick the trait that suits the bug you're playing.

Where to Level Up Safely and How to Hunt Bugs for XP
Start in Sunny Meadow, which is recommended from level 1. A fresh egg respawns there, so it's a sensible place to begin. Muddy Lake, recommended from level 8, is the next step once your bug has grown. These levels are recommendations rather than locks, so you can walk into a harder zone early, but expect bugs there that can eat you.
Hunting is one of the more efficient ways to level up. Find an NPC bug roaming the map, defeat it, then eat its body to gain a lot of XP and resources. Hunting works best once your bug is at least somewhat grown, since a young bug can lose a fight fast. Pick bugs you can beat and leave the much larger ones alone.
How to Earn Coins for Your First Bug Unlock
Coins come from quests, survival and timed rewards, so they start adding up in your first minutes. The Quick tab on the objectives panel tracks short tasks like staying alive for a set time, eating XP orbs, eating bugs and breaking objects. Each finished task pays out right away. The quest to eat 120 XP orbs pays 120 coins, and staying alive for 3 minutes pays 36.
Bug-eating and object-breaking tasks stay on the panel while you move, so you can work on them while you farm orbs. Staying on a server also triggers a PLAYTIME REWARD popup worth 100 coins, which you collect with the CLAIM! button.
For faster XP, watch for Night Hunt. It's a timed phase that gives 1.5x XP, so it's the best window for farming orbs and working through quests.
How to Unlock Your First New Bug at Level 12 on the Bug Tree
Open the Bug Tree with T. Each entry shows the bug's tier, the level you need, its coin price and a stat card. Every unlock follows the same pattern: own the bug before it, grow it to the required level, then pay the coins.
At level 12, your Garden Spider can branch into two tier 2 bugs, the Housefly and the Grasshopper. Both cost the same, so either one works as your first unlock. Compare their stat cards before you buy. The Grasshopper grades Speed A, Health D, Bite Damage D, Bite Speed B and Stamina B, so it's quick but fragile.
A NEW BUG READY! popup offers another way to buy. It can appear in the early minutes or in the middle of a fight, and its Unlock button charges the price immediately. Check your coins first so you don't spend money you were saving for another branch. If you're not ready, ignore it, because it comes back.
Each new bug starts as an egg at Level 1, and your Garden Spider's levels don't carry over.

How to Unlock the Jumping Spider Through the Grasshopper Line
The Jumping Spider sits on the Grasshopper branch. Grow your Grasshopper to level 15, then unlock the Jumping Spider for 450 coins. On the way, the Grasshopper passes through a Nymph stage at level 6.
The Jumping Spider is the longer climb. It stays a Spiderling from level 5 until level 28, and its trait choices arrive at levels 13, 16, 19 and 20. Its stat card grades Speed B and Bite Speed S, so it gives up some speed for the best Bite Speed of the three early bugs in this path. That long stretch is where Night Hunt pays off most.
What Happens When Your Bug Dies and How Reviving Works
When you die, a YOU WERE EATEN screen names your killer and shows your kills, time survived, levels lost and the level you reached. Levels lost can be nearly your whole run. A Level 28 Jumping Spider that dies loses 27 levels, so think before you choose.
The death menu offers these options:
- REVIVE FOR FREE keeps all your levels, but it goes on cooldown after you use it.
- REVIVE NOW costs 12 Robux and replaces the free option while that cooldown runs.
- RESPAWN (LV 1) restarts the same bug as an egg.
- CHANGE BUG switches you to another bug line.
- BUG TREE lets you buy an unlock first.
Since the free revive has a cooldown, don't count on it every time. Save it for a run you can't afford to lose.
How to Team Up With Other Players in Bug Evolution
Open the Team menu with G to create a party and hunt with other players on your server. Teammates can't damage each other, and they gain 10% more XP when hunting together. For a small bug, a team is the simplest defense.
Other players can also send you a team invite. It appears as a popup with ACCEPT and DECLINE buttons, and accepting joins that player's team. You can also send friend requests from inside the game, which makes it easy to find the same players in your next session.
