How to Unlock Water Breathing in Slayers 2

Updated on September 30, 2026 (2 days ago)

Water Breathing in Slayers 2 is not unlocked just by finding its hidden trainer. You need to reach the trainer with the right resources, complete six Water Breathing objectives, and defeat Water Trainee Sabito before the style appears in the Slayer-side Skill Tree.

The safest preparation is Level 25, 5,000 Wen, and 30 Demon Horns. Then follow the route below from the Bamboo Grove entrance through the final fight, and do not treat the Underwater Rocks 5/5 result as the end of the unlock.

Slayers 2 Water Breathing Requirements

Water Breathing is a Slayer-side style, so make sure you are on the Slayer path before traveling to the trainer. Bring the following items before you start the route:

RequirementWhat to haveWhat it does
Slayer pathSlayer pathMakes the Water Breathing trainer relevant to your character
Level25 or higherMinimum level to start training
Wen5,000Trainer payment to start training
Demon Horns30 preparedSafe preparation for the material check

Some builds may not ask for Demon Horns, so read the trainer's current prompt before confirming the handover. Carrying 30 Demon Horns is still the safest preparation; if you need more, farm Hoyuzo Subordinates or the Hoyuzo Boss. The Demon Horn farming guide has the related farming route.

Bring a working sword for the final Water Trainee fight. The trainer's live prompt determines the materials you hand over, so do not treat the sword as an extra Water Breathing fee.

Where to Find the Water Breathing Trainer in Slayers 2

Travel to Bamboo Grove and look for the small house or island near the bridge or waterfall. Walk around the house toward the waterline until you find the small, foliage-covered opening below the surface.

Swim through the underwater passage and keep an eye on your oxygen. Continue until you can surface on the other side, then climb the ladder into the wooden room. Running out of oxygen before you reach the exit can cause you to drown, so avoid taking a long detour underwater.

The NPC may be labeled Water Trainer Urokodaki or Water Trainer Sakonji depending on the live build or guide you are following. If the name is different, use the Water Breathing interaction rather than looking for a second trainer. Talk to the trainer, meet the current prompt, and hand over the requested materials. That interaction starts the Water Breathing Training tracker; standing inside the room alone does not unlock the style.

Slayers 2 Water Breathing Training Tasks

The tracker commonly unlocks these objectives in order: Parkour Dungeon, Push ups, Boulder Push, Aim Training, Underwater Rocks, and Defeat the Water Trainee. Use the active marker and the tracker as your final guide if your live task order differs. Each stage must register before the next part of the route matters.

1. Clear the Parkour Dungeon

Follow the marker to the Parkour Dungeon and clear the obstacle course to reach the exit. Make controlled jumps, avoid the hazards, and confirm that the tracker changes to Parkour Dungeon 1/1 before leaving the course.

2. Finish Push ups

Go to the marked mat or training station, interact with the Train prompt, and follow the timing or button prompts on screen. Continue until the progress completes and the tracker records Push ups.

3. Push the Boulder to its Destination

Interact with the marked boulder and follow the white arrow through the route or maze. Keep pushing toward the destination instead of making unnecessary turns, then wait for the Boulder Push objective to register as complete.

4. Complete Aim Training

Travel to the marked target range, reported near the Butterfly Estate or its shrine, and interact with the training prompt. Hit the targets as they appear until the progress completes.

5. Collect the Underwater Rocks

When the tracker shows Underwater Rocks 0/5, return to the marked water beside Bamboo Grove. Look for the glowing blue pickups, which may be labeled Sea Crystals by the interaction prompt, and collect all five.

Watch your oxygen during this step. Surface between short dives to refill it, then return for the next pickup until the tracker reads 5/5. The Slayers 2 Underwater Rocks locations guide has the exact pickup route if you need help finding the five spots. Reaching 5/5 completes this objective, but it does not unlock Water Breathing by itself.

6. Defeat Water Trainee Sabito

Follow the active marker to Water Trainee Sabito and win the final training fight. Bring a working weapon, keep your distance from unsafe area attacks, and check the tracker after the fight so you know the final objective registered.

How to Confirm Water Breathing Unlocked

After all six objectives register, open the Slayer-side Skill Tree and inspect the Water branch. Water Breathing should be available there once the training route is complete.

Completing the training unlocks the base style, not every Water technique at once. Individual moves can still require their own Skill Tree investment, mastery, or later conditions. If the Water branch is not available after collecting 5/5 Underwater Rocks, check the tracker and follow its next active marker, which may still point to the Water Trainee.

Once the branch appears, buy the first eligible Water node and continue through the remaining options as you build the style.
