The Mysterious Stranger wants 6 Bundles of Forks during Adopt Me's Tux & Shepherd on the Stray Case update (from August 14, 2026). Bring them back for 75 Bucks.
Your Task Board may show Cafeteria Cutlery with the objective Retrieve Hidden Forks. The forks hide in plain sight on Adoption Island, and the exact props can differ for each player.
While the task is available, you start and finish at the School, walk with a pet to 6/6, then turn in at the same locked door. Same-update lore sits with Inspector Shepherd if you want the Tux and Shepherd side of the case.

What the forks look like

A Bundle of Forks is a stack of blue forks wrapped in white paper, tied with a dark blue ribbon. You may also hear Fork Bundle or just forks. Once you know that package, random park props get a lot less sneaky.
How to start the fork task and turn them in

Knock on the locked door in the School cafeteria. That is where the grumpy Mysterious Stranger starts and finishes the hand-in. The door sits on the blue wall under the spoon and fork murals.

The Task Board tracks the same job as Cafeteria Cutlery / Retrieve Hidden Forks, with progress up to 6/6 and a $75 reward line.
- Equip any pet and keep it out while you hunt.
- Head to the School on Adoption Island. If the map still feels new, the Adopt Me beginner guide covers island orientation.
- Enter the cafeteria and knock on the grey locked door.
- Talk to the Mysterious Stranger and accept the task.
- Walk Adoption Island so your pet can identify Bundles of Forks hiding as everyday objects.
- Interact with candidates (often E when a Collect prompt appears) until you reach 6/6.
- Return to the same School door and hand the forks in for 75 Bucks.
You can complete the task once every in-game day. Wait for that in-game day to roll over before the stranger sends you out again.
When a bundle is nearby, your pet may show hearts in both eyes. Slow down, scan the props next to you, and collect when the prompt shows. Any equipped pet works; you do not need a special breed for the hunt.
Skip the Nursery when you are looking for the stranger. Nursery-area props can still hide forks, but the turn-in door is at the School.
Example places to look for Fork Bundles

Fork spawns vary per player. Treat every spot below as a possible place type, not a fixed Location 1-6 map that works for every friend or server.
Check these kinds of objects while you follow your pet:
- Beach crates, barrels, campfire wooden logs, sticks, and sand buckets
- Park and bridge areas: wooden barrels by trees, stones near bridges and the playground
- Mini gardens and flowers (forks can sit under flower props)
- Outer-circle mini Christmas trees
- Nursery-area world props only: bushes near the mini nursery, broken wooden fence pieces opposite the Pet Shop
- The first chair on the Fly Balloon
- Other plain-sight props that look slightly off until you get close
A simple loop that covers a lot of ground: beach, then bridges and park, then the school approach. If your pet reacts, re-check nearby objects instead of sprinting past them.
When the task is open again after an in-game day, the stranger may want another round of cafeteria cutlery. Until then, spend the 75 Bucks on something that is not, ideally, more silverware.
