The Pumpkin King is the Halloween event's boss, and you fight him in the Abandoned Castle dungeon. The big rule is simple: he heals until you destroy his tombstones. Before you go in, know that the event uses two currencies. Haunted Shards buy crates, and Candy Corn XP unlocks track rewards.
How the Abandoned Castle Dungeon Works
Dungeons is the game mode the Halloween event adds, and it runs on the Abandoned Castle map. It's an endless run, so there's no finish line. You keep moving deeper through the castle.
Each room gives you an objective, like rescuing trapped survivors, aligning laser relays or disarming traps. The room banner names the task. Room 1 says Grab the Key, and room 7 says Hold the Fort.
Work through each room in this order:
- Complete the room's objective.
- Find the room's key.
- Advance to the next room.

Pumpkin Guards appear every five rooms, and Spooky Crate chests show up every five floors.
How to Beat the Pumpkin King
The Pumpkin King has two phases and roughly 400,000 to 500,000 HP, so plan for the top of that range.
Reaching the Boss
The Pumpkin King appears every 15 rooms. The milestone also gets called a floor, so if the counter in your run shows something different, go with what the game shows.
Stopping the Healing
- Attack from range rather than closing in.
- Destroy each tombstone as soon as it appears, so he can't heal.
- Keep attacking until the Pumpkin King goes down.
Classes to Bring
Tactician and Bastion are good picks for this fight. Both offer utility and can deal passive damage, which suits a boss you're hitting from range.
Earning Candy Corn XP and Haunted Shards
Defeat Halloween zombies in the game's different modes to earn Candy Corn XP and Haunted Shards. Candy Corn XP moves you up the Halloween Rewards Track, and Haunted Shards pay for crates.
Halloween Rewards Track

The track has six rewards, starting at 500 XP and going up to 64,000 XP. Each reward unlocks at the Candy Corn XP amount in the table.
| Candy Corn XP | Reward |
|---|---|
| 500 | Haunted Shards |
| 8,000 | Hauntback |
| 16,000 | Midnight Bell |
| 27,000 | Soulstice |
| 43,000 | Headless Horseman |
| 64,000 | Loaded Jack |
The Headless Horseman is the big prize on the track. It's a Legendary Offense class that unlocks at Rewards Level 5. Hauntback and Soulstice also show up in Spooky Crates, so you can go after them either way.
Spooky Crate Odds and Costs
Spooky Crates and Artifact Crates each cost 50 Haunted Shards. You can also buy a Spooky Crate with Robux. The crate is random, so you may need to open several to land one specific weapon.
The event's three artifacts are Candy Bucket, Midnight Bell and Loaded Jack. Candy Bucket is a rare Artifact Crate reward, and Midnight Bell and Loaded Jack come from the Halloween Rewards Track.
Here's what a Spooky Crate can drop, from rarest to most common.
| Reward | Chance |
|---|---|
| Crownbreaker | 0.03% |
| Soulstice | 0.49% |
| 100K Credits | 1.07% |
| Jack-o'-Doom | 1.75% |
| Hauntback | 3.51% |
| 25K Credits | 4.32% |
| Sugar Shock | 5.72% |
| 10K Credits | 8.58% |
| Respin +3 | 10% |
| 5K Credits | 15% |
| 2.5K Credits | 24.28% |
| 2x Luck | 25% |
Crownbreaker is the rarest drop, and it's a weapon. If your crate panel shows different odds, trust the panel.
If the Headless Horseman is what you're after, the track table shows the Candy Corn XP you need. The event runs through November 14, 2026, so plan your farming around that date. If the countdown in your game shows a different end date, trust the countdown.
