The Fish Index is your record of every fish you have discovered in Heavyweight Fishing. Filling it in is mostly about exploring each island and catching every kind of fish on it. That gives your fishing a clear goal, and it's a good reason to visit islands you've skipped.

Islands and Progression

Heavyweight Fishing moves you from island to island, and each one is a step up from the last. Beginning Isle is where you start. It offers low-value loot and easier catches, so it's a good place to get comfortable with the basics. The islands further along hold more valuable catches, and they need a better rod and more Power before you can catch their fish reliably.

How to Reel in a Fish

After you cast your line, you use your active skills to drain the fish's HP bar. The reel itself is a timing mini-game, and staying out of the red zone is the single most important habit to build. Skills are essential for the bigger fish and bosses, so building them up matters as you go after the largest catches.

Power, Luck and Bait

Your rod sets your Power and your Luck. Power controls how fast you drain a fish's HP, so a rod with more Power wears big fish down faster. Luck raises your odds of catching rarer fish, and bait is one of the ways to raise it.

Bait comes in tiers, and each tier costs more Cash but adds a bigger Luck bonus. That makes the higher tiers the ones to reach for when you're chasing rarer catches.

Summoned Fish and Secret Catches

Some fish don't come up through normal fishing. Instead, you summon them with a specific bait. Rainbow Bait summons the Rainbow Dragon Fish, and Frost Bait, crafted at the Bait Seller, summons the Frost Queen Fish. Each of these is a secret fish, so if a fish you need isn't turning up, check whether it's one of the summoned ones before you keep waiting.

Selling Fish for Cash

Sell your catches to Nana, the Fish Buyer, for Cash. That money pays for bait and for some rods, and those upgrades are what let you handle bigger fish and reach harder waters.
