Items keep Animal Hospital moving when the lobby piles up and the wards go sideways. Tools cover sanity, speed, fire, and fights. Shop upgrades permanently speed DNA, printing, recovery, and check-in. Treatment stock is free at the room stations and has to match the diagnosis, or you lose a life the hard way.

Spend cash where the queue actually hurts
Money from early shifts should go into the bottlenecks you feel every round. DNA Analysis and Patient Recovery Speed clear beds faster once ambulances start stacking. Patient Check-in is cheap desk QoL. The second Check-in Window is the late-game reception unlock when two arrivals hit at once. Printer speed matters once photo paperwork is the thing holding the desk.
Tools are more situational. Coffee is free and renewable, so drink it between crises and save Chocolate for when sanity is already bad. Run Fast Cola is for cross-hospital sprints. Fire Extinguisher, Taser, and Gun are emergency answers, not default inventory clutter. Teddy Bear is pure co-op insurance: expensive, useless on yourself, and the only way to stand a teammate back up after zero sanity.
Match the cure, then handle the side jobs
After DNA, the screen above the bed tells you what to bring. Wrong treatment kills a normal patient. Keep free stock from the hall machines: herbs for headaches, medicine for stomach aches, thermometer for fever, medkit and bandage for wounds, ointment for burns and rashes, cough syrup for flu, maple syrup for low sugar, eye drops for dry eyes, and IV drops for dehydration.
A few treatments moonlights as crisis tools. Maple Syrup, Organ, and Transplant can feed the Bed Monster. Eye Drops calm Mass of Eyes and, with IV Drops, can clear death-ritual candles without eating sanity the hard way. Room 8 surgery wants IV prep first, then blackboard tools like scalpel, scissors, organ, and transplant on a short timer. If you put a patient out with your hands instead of the extinguisher, finish with Ointment.
Small habits that save shifts
- Carry a cure mix, not only weapons. Empty hands still kill patients if a bad inventory upgrade is live.
- Return the Fire Extinguisher and recharge the Taser box when you can. Borrowed tools are team property.
- Sip coffee smart: two sips for you, last sip for Head Banger or Barney still works.
- Do not shoot or tase everything. Surgery tendrils and some patient states punish the wrong weapon.
FAQ
Where do you buy tools and upgrades in Animal Hospital?
The Supplies Shop opens after early shifts and sells tools plus upgrades for cash. Some tools also appear as free wall boxes, vending Robux options, or class starters.
Are treatment items free?
Yes. Grab them from treatment stations outside patient rooms or from Room 8 surgery supplies. They do not cost shop cash.
What restores sanity fastest?
Coffee is free and restores a little per sip. Chocolate costs money or Robux and restores much more if you finish the whole bar.
Which upgrades should you buy first?
DNA Analysis and Patient Recovery Speed usually pay off first because they free beds faster. Patient Check-in is a cheap early pickup, then the second check-in window when arrivals double up.
What items help with emergencies, not just diagnoses?
Fire Extinguisher for fires, Taser and Gun for hostiles, Maple Syrup or organ/transplant for Bed Monster, and Eye Drops or IV Drops for some ritual candle clears.
Can the wrong treatment kill a patient?
Yes. Using an item that does not match the diagnosis can kill a normal patient and cost a hospital life. Always read the bed screen after DNA.
