Scope

This follows the Undead Nightmare single-player expansion route, including its epilogue entry. It does not cover the regular Red Dead Redemption campaign, Survivor Side-Missions, multiplayer, Undead Overrun, challenges, outfits, cemeteries, towns, or 100% activities. The same expansion route applies across the 2010 DLC, the standalone disc, and later releases that include Undead Nightmare. Bundled multiplayer material on the standalone release remains outside this scope.

Route and gates

After the Blackwater chapter, the Seth and Nigel branches open in New Austin. Their branches can be tackled in either order, while the displayed sequence keeps Seth before Nigel for easier route planning. American Imperialism is the crossing point into Nuevo Paraíso. Its progression notes keep the supporting side-activity gate visible without turning those activities into Story Mode entries.

Some route versions name Missing Souls alone around the American Imperialism gate, while others also include Birth of the Conservation Movement, Paternal Pride, and Dinner for Two. These are supporting side activities, not additional story entries. The Mexico section has a similar pause around Filth and Other Entertainment and Biographies and Lies.

Spoiler note

The late-story entries carry critical spoilers. Open their detailed notes only when you are comfortable with the expansion’s final transition and post-story boundary. Completing the story does not remove the remaining side activities from free roam.

FAQ

Q.

Are these missions from the regular Red Dead Redemption campaign?

No. They belong to the Undead Nightmare single-player expansion. The regular Red Dead Redemption campaign has its own separate mission route.

Q.

Can I complete the Seth and Nigel branches in either order?

Yes. Both branches open after Curious Tales from Blackwater. The displayed sequence keeps Get Back in That Hole, Partner before A Cure for Most of What Ails You, but the branches can be approached in either order.

Q.

Are Survivor Side-Missions part of this Story Mode route?

No. Survivor Side-Missions remain separate activities. Some can appear as progression gates around the later story, but they are not Story Mode mission entries here.

Q.

Why do the American Imperialism gate notes mention different side missions?

Route versions differ around this gate. Missing Souls is named on its own in some versions, while Birth of the Conservation Movement, Paternal Pride, Dinner for Two, and Missing Souls appear together in others. Keep those activities separate from the story route and check the progression note for the distinction.

Q.

Is On a Pale Horse a regular mission or an epilogue?

It is treated as the expansion’s epilogue entry. After its story boundary, side activities, challenges, and other free-roam content remain available.

Q.

Do different packages create different mission sets?

No. The 2010 DLC, standalone release, and later packages that include Undead Nightmare use the same expansion story route. Platform packaging does not create duplicate entries, and bundled multiplayer content is separate.
