Slayers 2 Stone Breathing Style Unlock Guide

Updated on September 28, 2026 (4 days ago)

Reached Gyorei in Slayers 2 but Stone Breathing still will not start? Level 25 only gets you to the beginning of the route. You also need 4,000 Wen, the Axe and Mace, enough Beast Cores, and six training objectives in a fixed order.

This guide takes you from Bamboo Grove to Gyorei's Stone Sanctuary conversation, through every training task, and into the Skill Tree check that confirms the style is available.

Slayers 2 Stone Breathing Requirements

Prepare these requirements before making the trip to Stone Sanctuary. The weapon and Beast Core checks are easy to miss because reaching Level 25 or finding Gyorei does not complete the unlock by itself.

RequirementWhat to prepareWhy it matters
Slayer progressionReach Level 25 on the Slayer pathThis is the level gate for the Stone route.
Payment4,000 WenGyorei needs the payment before training can begin.
WeaponObtain and equip Axe and MaceThe weapon is part of Gyorei's prerequisite check and is needed again for Boulder Split.
MaterialBeast Cores from Beast Born DemonsCarry five as a safe amount, then follow the number in Gyorei's live prompt.
Movement helpWall Climb and Double Jump, if you have themWall Climb can shorten the sanctuary ascent and Double Jump helps with Parkour, but neither is a universal Stone unlock gate.

The Beast Core requirement can appear as four or five. Carrying five keeps you covered without treating five as a guaranteed minimum, so read Gyorei's current prompt before you hand the cores in.

Where to Find Gyorei and Stone Sanctuary in Slayers 2

Start in Bamboo Grove and follow the route into the Wilderness and mountain area. When the path splits, stay on the lower cliffside route instead of taking the upper path toward the Thunder area.

From there, climb the marked rock wall for the direct ascent if you have Wall Climb. If you do not, use the longer approach to reach the upper Stone Sanctuary grounds. Gyorei stands beside the large wooden dojo. Look for the Stone Trainer Gyorei chat prompt, since the nearby Gyorei or Stone Hashira world-boss encounter is not the trainer interaction you need.

How to Get and Equip Axe and Mace in Slayers 2

Gyorei will not move you into training if the weapon requirement has not registered. Get the Axe and Mace from the Stone Trainee on the upper Stone Sanctuary grounds, then set it as your equipped weapon before returning to the trainer.

  1. Defeat the Stone Trainee and loot the reward chest. The weapon drop is not guaranteed, so you may need to repeat the encounter.
  2. Open your inventory after the weapon drops.
  3. Check the Uncategorized or miscellaneous Weapons section for Axe and Mace.
  4. Equip Axe and Mace, then speak to Gyorei again.

Simply owning the weapon is not enough if a different weapon is equipped. Keep Axe and Mace equipped when you reach Boulder Split later, because switching weapons can stop that objective from registering.

The chest hunt and the final Stone Trainee task are separate checkpoints. The first encounter supplies the weapon prerequisite; the last encounter comes after the other training objectives.

How to Complete the Six Stone Breathing Training Tasks

After you meet the level, Wen, weapon, and Beast Core checks, speak to Gyorei to start Stone Breathing Training. The tracker sends you through Meditation, Push Ups, Boulder Push, Boulder Split, Parkour, and a final Stone Trainee fight in that order.

Meditation

Go to the training marker or training house and follow the active indicator. Press the requested input when the indicator reaches the correct position, then continue until the required progress or counter registers. The next marker should appear after Meditation is complete.

Push Ups

Follow the repeated button or timing prompts at the next training marker. Keep matching the displayed inputs until the counter finishes, rather than treating the first prompt as the whole objective.

Boulder Push

Interact with the marked boulder and push it along the assigned course. Boulder Push is complete when the boulder reaches the marked endpoint, so keep moving it through the route instead of stopping after the first movement.

Boulder Split

Leave Axe and Mace equipped for this task. Perform the prompted attacks or timing-meter inputs until the boulder breaks and the tracker advances. If you switched weapons after getting through Gyorei's conversation, re-equip Axe and Mace before retrying this objective.

Parkour

Enter the Parkour or Parkour Dungeon course and cross its platforms and ledges before the attempt expires. Follow the levers or section markers where they appear, and preserve your limited lives or attempts for the harder jumps. Wall Climb and Double Jump can make the course easier, but they are movement advantages rather than requirements you should assume are mandatory for the entire Stone route.

The important check is reaching the finish of the course. You do not need to plan around a fixed timer number, so focus on the route, the hazards, and keeping an attempt available for the final stretch.

Stone Trainee

Defeat the marked Stone Trainee mini boss for the final training objective. This is the second Stone Trainee checkpoint in the overall route, after the earlier chest hunt for Axe and Mace. When the fight ends, read the training tracker and return to Gyorei only if it asks you to do so.

How to Confirm Stone Breathing Is Unlocked in Slayers 2

Do not rely only on the Stone Trainee defeat message. Confirm that the training tracker reaches 6/6, then open the Skill Tree and check that the Stone branch is active or available.

If the branch is still locked, identify which objective failed to register and repeat that task with its required interaction or equipment. If the tracker sends you back to Gyorei, follow that return step before checking the Skill Tree again. Once the tracker shows 6/6 and the Stone branch is available, the unlock route is complete.
