Swoop with Baby Blooper is the best pick for regular races in Mario Kart World, and it scores highest in both Classic and Modern Races. For Tour Races, switch to Toadette with Reel Racer, and for Knockout Tour, Mario with Reel Racer is the pairing to start with. Each character and vehicle has its own stats for speed, acceleration, handling and weight, and a pairing adds them together, so the best match depends on the race type.
| Tier | Character | Vehicle | Classic Races | Modern Races | Tour Races | Knockout Tour |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | Swoop | Baby Blooper | 100.00% | 100.00% | 97.60% | 70.59% |

| S | Baby Mario | Mach Rocket | 96.63% | 97.00% | 91.73% | 63.89% |
| A+ | Swoop | Reel Racer | 94.24% | 91.13% | 99.98% | 87.87% |
| A+ | Swoop | W-Twin Chopper | 93.92% | 91.62% | 98.00% | 82.94% |
| A+ | Toadette | Reel Racer | 93.60% | 89.31% | 100.00% | 91.93% |
| A+ | Toadette | W-Twin Chopper | 93.46% | 89.97% | 98.21% | 87.14% |
Pairings with identical stats score the same, so Swoop also covers Para-Biddybud, Baby Peach and Baby Daisy. Toadette also covers Nabbit, Baby Mario also covers Goomba and Spike, Mach Rocket also covers R.O.B. H.O.G., and Mario also covers Rocky Wrench.
Knockout specialist: Mario with Reel Racer scores 95.49% in Knockout Tour, which is higher than any pairing in the tier list. It's left off that list because its Classic Races score is 84.80%.
How to Read the Mario Kart World Combo Scores
Each percentage shows how close a pairing comes to the best one in that mode. The top pairing in each mode is set at 100% and the weakest at 0%, with everything else in between. The scores come from a model that weighs each measured stat differently for each race type, so they aren't in-game stats, win rates or official Nintendo ratings.
The S and A+ tiers use Classic Races scores only. S covers the top six pairings, which fall between 96.63% and 100%, and A+ covers the next four, between 93.46% and 94.24%. Pairings within a tier sit close together, so treat the tier as a guide rather than a strict order.
The same pairing can rank well in one mode and lower in another because each mode values the stats differently. That's why road speed alone won't tell you which pairing to pick. Look at the full set of stats alongside the mode you play most.
Stat Levels Behind the Top Pairings
Every character and vehicle has levels for speed, acceleration, handling and weight, plus hidden values for Mini-Turbo, coin curve and invincibility. A pairing adds its character's and vehicle's levels together. Each part ranges from 0 to 13, so a pairing's total can go past 13.
Speed and handling are split by surface: road (paved tracks), rough (dirt and other off-road ground) and water. Speed also has a gliding value for when your vehicle's wings are out. The levels below reflect the game after the 1.7.0 update, and they're internal levels, not the bars shown on the vehicle screen.

| Pairing | Road speed | Acceleration | Road handling | Mini-Turbo | Weight | Invincibility |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Swoop + Baby Blooper | 7 | 13 | 16 | 10 | 1 | 1 |
| Toadette + Baby Blooper | 9 | 11 | 16 | 9 | 3 | 4 |
| Swoop + Mach Rocket | 6 | 14 | 17 | 11 | 0 | 0 |
| Toadette + Mach Rocket | 8 | 12 | 17 | 10 | 2 | 3 |
| Toadette + Reel Racer | 10 | 7 | 11 | 5 | 5 | 8 |
| Mario + Reel Racer | 12 | 5 | 9 | 3 | 7 | 12 |
Rough, water and gliding values for the same pairings:
- Swoop + Baby Blooper: rough speed 2, water speed 2, rough handling 12, water handling 12
- Toadette + Baby Blooper: rough speed 3, water speed 3, rough handling 10, water handling 10
- Swoop + Mach Rocket: rough speed 1, water speed 1, rough handling 13, water handling 13
- Toadette + Mach Rocket: rough speed 2, water speed 2, rough handling 11, water handling 11
- Toadette + Reel Racer: rough speed 9, water speed 9, rough handling 9, water handling 9
- Mario + Reel Racer: rough speed 11, water speed 11, rough handling 7, water handling 7
Gliding speed is 0 for all six pairings.
Road numbers lead the table because they're the easiest to compare. A pairing can still be stronger on road than on rough or water ground, so check the full set when a course crosses dirt or water.
Why Swoop and Baby Blooper Lead Classic and Modern Races
Swoop with Baby Blooper is the only pairing in the table at 100% in both Classic and Modern Races. Swoop is a small, lightweight character, and Baby Blooper is a kart that adds speed on road, rough and water ground. Together they reach a road speed of 7, acceleration of 13 and road handling of 16.
Its closest rival is Swoop with Mach Rocket, which sits less than a point behind in Classic Races and is almost level in Modern Races. Mach Rocket leans toward handling and acceleration, with 14 acceleration against 13 and 17 road handling against 16. Baby Blooper gives more road speed (7 against 6) and more speed on rough and water ground (2 against 1 on each), and it also scores higher in Tour Races and Knockout Tour, which makes it the stronger all-round pick.
Toadette with Baby Blooper is close behind at 99.64% in Classic Races. Toadette gives up some acceleration (11 against 13) for more road speed (9) and more weight, and she has the highest Tour Races and Knockout Tour scores of any Baby Blooper pairing in the table. Baby Mario with Baby Blooper (97.43%) and Baby Mario with Mach Rocket (96.63%) complete the S tier. They're still strong in Classic Races, but their Tour Races and Knockout Tour scores fall further back.
Best Tour Races Pick: Toadette With Reel Racer
Toadette with Reel Racer leads Tour Races at 100%, and Swoop with Reel Racer is almost level at 99.98%. Reel Racer is a kart with speed of 8 on road, rough and water ground, the highest of any vehicle in the table, and Toadette adds to that on all three surfaces.
The trade-off is acceleration. Toadette with Reel Racer sits at 7, compared with 13 for Swoop with Baby Blooper, so it takes longer to get up to speed. It scores 93.60% in Classic Races, which is A+ rather than S, so think of it as a Tour Races pick first.
It's also the most consistent pairing in the table. Its lowest score across the four modes is 89.31% in Modern Races, the highest low point of any pairing listed, so it's the one to consider if you want a single pairing for everything.
Best Knockout Tour Pick: Mario With Reel Racer
Mario with Reel Racer is the pairing to start with for Knockout Tour, scoring 95.49% there. The six S-tier pairings land between about 64% and 75% in Knockout Tour, so this is a clear step up. It isn't confirmed as the single best build for that mode, but it's a strong starting point.
The stat levels show where its strengths lie. Mario with Reel Racer has the highest road speed (12) and invincibility (12) of any pairing in the table, along with the heaviest weight (7). Its acceleration (5) and road handling (9) are the lowest in the table, so it takes longer to get going.
The build has a cost outside Knockout Tour. It scores 84.80% in Classic Races and 79.56% in Modern Races, though it still reaches 93.91% in Tour Races, so it's a mode-specific pick.
If you want a close Knockout Tour alternative:
- Toadette with Reel Racer: 91.93%. It's lighter (weight 5 instead of 7), with less road speed and invincibility.
- Swoop with Reel Racer: 87.87%. It has more acceleration (9 instead of 5), but less road speed (8 instead of 12).
