Grow a Garden Cloud Hound Guide: How to Get the Legendary Pet

Updated on September 12, 2026 (1 day ago)

Cloud Hound is the Legendary pet at the end of the Beanpod Chest route in Grow a Garden's Beanstalk Event Part 2. To reach it, you must help Jack grow the Beanstalk, climb to Jill's Gold Cauldron during its 20-minute active window, and submit a Gold-mutated resource weighing 30–75 kg. The chest can roll Cloud Hound, but it is not a guaranteed reward.

The event's availability and Jack's requested crop trait can change, so check the in-game event panel and the request shown above Jack before you start. Have the Gold submission ready first so the active-tree window is spent reaching Jill instead of preparing your inventory.

How to Get Cloud Hound in Grow a Garden

The complete route is:

  1. Prepare a Gold-mutated submission weighing 30–75 kg.
  2. Visit Jack in the Beanstalk event area and submit crops matching his displayed trait until the shared meter reaches 900 points.
  3. When the Beanstalk is fully grown, climb it within the 20-minute active window.
  4. Find Jill and submit your Gold-mutated resource to the Gold Cauldron at the far end of the island. A successful fill awards one Beanpod Chest.
  5. Open the chest and hope for Cloud Hound. The listed community-facing table gives it a 14.5% chance, so one chest is only one random roll.

The sections below explain the two preparation checks that matter most: how the shared meter works and what counts as a valid Gold submission.

Jack's request is not a fixed crop list. The requested plant trait changes hourly, so read the trait displayed by Jack and submit crops that match it. Every valid submission advances the shared event meter, and the Beanstalk becomes fully grown when that meter reaches 900 points.

No fixed crop count is provided for the route because the points per submission are not published. Watch the meter itself rather than assuming you need a particular number of plants. For broader context on Jack's progression, see the Grow a Garden Beanstalk event explainer.

How to Reach Jill's Gold Cauldron in Grow a Garden

Once the Beanstalk is fully grown, it stays active for 20 minutes. Climb during that window and continue to the top or far end of Cloud Island, where Jill and the Gold Cauldron are located. Starting with your Gold-mutated submission already in your inventory makes this step much less risky.

How to Fill Jill's Gold Cauldron in Grow a Garden

Jill's cauldron requires a Gold-mutated submission weighing 30–75 kg. Submit a valid amount at the cauldron to fill it and receive one Beanpod Chest. After a successful fill, the cauldron has a three-minute cooldown before it can produce another chest.

Gold is the important requirement here. Do not substitute Cloudtouched or another similarly named mutation. The Grow a Garden crop-mutations guide lists Gold with a 20x multiplier, a 1% natural chance, and sources that include Dragonfly, Cockatrice, Golden Bee, and Gold Fertilizer. Use one of those listed Gold sources to prepare your submission before you begin the climb.

Grow a Garden Beanpod Chest Rewards and Cloud Hound Chance

The reported Beanpod Chest table lists six possible results. It is useful for planning your attempts, but treat the percentages as reported or listed community-facing odds rather than an official guarantee.

Beanpod Chest resultListed chanceWhat the roll gives you
Cloud Hound14.5%The Legendary pet this guide is targeting
Fableflower Seed35%A Fableflower seed
Sheep35%The Sheep pet
Harpvine Seed14.5%A Harpvine seed
Elder Beanstalk Seed0.5%An Elder Beanstalk seed
Chest Mimic0.5%The Chest Mimic pet

A Beanpod Chest gives you one random result from the table, so there is no guaranteed Cloud Hound chest or fixed number of attempts that will unlock it. If you want to keep rolling, prepare additional Gold-mutated submissions and return after the cauldron's three-minute cooldown. The Grow a Garden Beanstalk Part 2 guide covers the wider event reward context.

What Does Cloud Hound Do in Grow a Garden?

Cloud Hound's passive is called Cloud Absorption. It occasionally absorbs a Cloudtouched fruit and advances the cooldown of a random pet, allowing that pet's ability to become available sooner. There is also a chance for Cloud Hound to absorb three Cloudtouched fruits at once and refresh pet cooldowns instead.

The passive depends on having an eligible Cloudtouched fruit available, so Cloud Hound is not a free cooldown reset on its own. Gold helps you earn the Beanpod Chest; Cloudtouched is the separate mutation that matters after you obtain the pet.

For the safest attempt, keep the Gold-mutated submission ready, read Jack's current hourly request, and start climbing only when you can reach Jill during the 20-minute window. That preparation gives you another Beanpod Chest roll whenever the cauldron is available, even though the Cloud Hound result itself remains random.
