How Holy Retribution and Inviting Oblivion work

Holy Deceiver (Dark) is built around two links: Holy Retribution rewards attacks and Holy allies, while Inviting Oblivion turns damaging active abilities from Dragon Sphere allies into tier progress.

Holy Retribution

  • Holy bonuses: The passive gives +80% Holy damage. Active abilities used by Holy units deal 50% more damage.
  • Slow and team damage: Every attack applies 50% Slow for 10 seconds. Holy Deceiver and Dragon Sphere allies gain 10% damage for 20 seconds, stacking up to 100%. New stacks do not refresh the timers of older stacks.
  • Personal scaling: Each attack gives Holy Deceiver 2% damage, up to 300%.
  • Overshield and Damage Reduction: When it attacks an enemy with either effect, other Dragon Sphere allies deal 100% more damage to that target.
  • Upgrade effects: Upgrades can raise qualifying Dragon Sphere allies and add Crit Rate in 12% stacks.

Inviting Oblivion

  • Charge: Each time a Dragon Sphere ally uses a damaging active ability, the meter fills by 25%. At 100%, it advances one tier and resets.
  • Tier 1: Dragon Sphere units gain 100% Crit Rate and Overcrit.
  • Tier 2: Damaging active abilities upgrade all Dragon Sphere allies by 1 level.
  • Tier 3: Attacks against Slowed enemies inflict Repulse and deal 30% more damage to enemies affected by Repulse Lockout.

Overcrit turns a Dragon Sphere critical hit into extra area pressure. The hit adds Sourceless damage equal to 10% of that hit to enemies in range and Stuns them for 2 seconds. That Sourceless damage triggers an Attack 2 Follow Up for 200% damage, with a 10-second local cooldown.

Build around Dragon Sphere allies that use damaging active abilities. Four qualifying uses fill the meter from empty, while a non-damaging active ability does not move it. The meter is patient, but at least it does the maths for you.

Holy Retribution's Slow also helps set up the Tier 3 Repulse effect. Plan the team around Dragon Sphere allies and damaging active abilities so the meter, Crit effects, Slow, and upgrade syncing work together.
