Weather in Grow a Garden can speed up growth, trigger mutations and change what happens on your plot. Some patterns belong to normal play, while others depend on events or admin activity. Time your farming around the boost or mutation you want.

Standard

Acid Rain

Chance to apply Acidic mutation. Functions the same as normal rain.

Details: Skybox turns green and a dark green fog engulfs the map, making visibility shorten by 50 studs. Acid Rain used to be an admin weather yet was changed to happen within the normal weather cycle in the Cooking Event.

Aurora Borealis

+50% Grow speed. Chance to apply Aurora.

Details: Neon purple, pink, and blue waves stretch out from the sky. May appear every around few hours The skybox is pale-blueish. Looks and resembles Night.

Blood Moon

Chance to apply the Bloodlit mutation. The Sky-box turns red.

Details: Default: Six crops become Bloodlit per cycle (once every 40 seconds over 4 minutes). Placing a Night Staff increases Bloodlit crop yield based on the number of charges it has. 1 in 3 chance to replace Night for that cycle. Lasts 10 minutes. During the Lunar Glow Event, Blood Moon lasted for 15 minutes. Both the sky and the moon turn red. During the Lunar Glow Event, the Blood Moon Shop appeared during Blood Night. Soundtrack: Same as Night

Crystal Beams

Once all crystals have been activated, crops have a chance to get a few mutations (Known: Celestial, Aurora, Shocked).

Details: Spawns 8 crystals around the map, players can click each one 5 times to apply various mutations. Crystal Beams used to be an admin weather yet was changed to happen within the normal weather cycle in the Prehistoric Event.

Earthquake

Chance to apply Cracked mutation to crops.

Details: Cracks form on the map. Second event that effects the map, the first is Sliced.

Frost

Increases growth speed by 50%. Chance to apply Chilled or Frozen. Triggers shivering animation for players, along with a shivering sound effect.

Details: 25% chance to replace Rain. It was made unavailable during the Summer Update, but was made available again in a soft update before the Zen Update (9pm EST)

Gale

Rare version of Windy. High chance to trigger the Windstruck mutation. Players will be blown by strong wind currents, slowly moving them towards the gear shop area.

Details: Applies a white tint to the player's camera. Makes large wind particle effects fly around the map. Makes the player's camera shake slowly.

Gentle Drizzle

Chance to apply the Moist mutation.

Heat Wave

Crops hit by sun rays obtain the Sundried mutation.

Details: Placing a Tanning Mirror redirects sun rays to crops 10 times before it is deleted. Accompanied by a sound similar to the buzzing of cicadas.

Meteor Shower

Meteors fall from the sky. Crops hit by meteors obtain the Celestial mutation.

Details: Placing a Star Caller directs meteors to crops within its range three times before it is deleted. Duration: 3 minutes. Only appears during Blood Moon or Night.

Night

Chance to apply Moonlit. Six crops become Moonlit per night (once every 40 seconds over 4 minutes). Sky-box turns a dark purple, and the moon and stars appear in the sky.

Details: Placing a Night Staff will increase Moonlit crop yield by the amount of charges it has. Appears 30 minutes after every cosmetic restock, six times each day (00:30, 04:30, 08:30, 12:30, 16:30, and 20:30 GMT). Lasts 10 minutes. Soundtrack: Clair De Lune and Gymnopédie No. 1 by Eric Satie During the Lunar Glow Event, the Twilight Shop appeared during Night.

NPC Birthday

Feed the NPC to get something from their shop. Players cannot feed the NPC 2 times.

Rain

Increases growth speed by 50%. 50% chance to trigger the Wet mutation.

Details: You hear constant rainfall layered over the background music. Grey clouds spread across the skybox.

Sandstorm

Sand particles fly around the map, adding a yellow-tinted fog and making the ground a sandy-yellow. Chance to apply the Sandy mutation.

Details: Makes the player's camera shake slowly.

Solar Eclipse

Chance to apply Eclipse mutation to crops.

Details: The Skybox turns completely dark. The sun turns black from the center.

Sun God

Applies the Dawnbound mutation to four or more sunflowers when presented in front of the Sun God. A golden Jandel spreading his arms will appear behind the egg, cosmetics, and gear shops with a golden, god-like aura.

Thunderstorm

Increases growth speed by 50%. 50% chance to trigger Wet. Crops struck by lightning obtain the Shocked mutation.

Details: Placing a Lightning Rod attracts lightning strikes within the rod's range three times before deletion. During the events of 8/2/2025-8/3/2025, Thunderstorm occurred multiple times throughout the day and night. 10% chance to replace Rain.

Tornado

The sky turns cloudy, and tornadoes spawn around the map. Crops struck by a tornado will obtain Twisted mutation.

Details: Multiple tornadoes may spawn in simultaneously.

Tropical Rain

Increases growth speed by 50%. Chance to apply the Drenched mutation. The sky turns sea green and rain particles fall from the sky.

Details: Whenever a player walks, a water splash effect can be seen on the ground. The ground is lightly flooded by water. Soundtrack: Tropical Breeze -- The Puahia Street Players

Windy

Chance to apply the Windstruck mutation.

Details: Applies a white tint to the player's camera. Will make wind particle effects fly around the map.

Bat Attack

Chance to apply Vamp mutation.

Details: Bats appear and visits the players' gardens. Chance to appear after filling up the witch's cauldron

Bee Swarm

A bee visits a player's garden. Applies the Pollinated mutation to a random crop.

Details: Duration: ~10 minutes Soundtrack: Hungarian Dance No. 5, Johannes Brahms and Trumpet Concerto, Joseph Haydn.

Christmas Dinner

2x Cooking speed Christmas Food return double

Details: 4 tables appear on the map, with each containing candles, plates, and Christmas-themed food.

Corrupted Aura

Pixel particles and leaves revolve around the skybox like Zen Aura but red. Once every 30 seconds of the Corrupted Zen event the Zen Channeller summons an orb that applies the Corrupt mutation to a random crop.

Details: Have a chance to replace Zen Aura Players can see when the next Zen Aura will occur, which is shown above the Zen Tree.

Fairies

Fairies visits the players' gardens. Applies the Glimmering mutation to a random crop.

Details: Lasts 10 minutes, but Fairy Upgrades can make it last longer. The sky turns into a purple haze with sparkles drifting around.

Fall Bloom

Applies the Fall mutation to a random crop. Restocks the Fall Market.

Details: The sky turns into an orange sunset, and leaves are falling.

Festive Night

Chance to apply Ornamented mutation.

Details: Gifts and lights appear in the ground while it snows.

Full Moon

Slightly higher chance of the Bloodlit mutation.

Details: The Sky-box turns orange and a full moon comes up, similar to the Night and Blood Moon weather. Added during the Ghoul Garden update. First event to feature an emoji in it's description, it being the 👻 (Ghost) emoji. Chance to appear after filling up the witch's cauldron

Halloween Night

Opens the Halloween Market and makes the Ancient Jack O Lantern appear.

Details: This is the moment when the spirit world collides with the living world. Turns the sky into an orange and red gradient with stars.

Harvest Moon

Fruits can get Moonbeam, and plants grow twice as fast.

High Tide Harvest

Submit summer fruits or Tidal-mutated fruits to earn event rewards.

Kitchen Storm

Doubled Cooking Time Chance to get Aromatic mutation random crop. Increased chances of food carrying over crop mutations.

Leprechaun Rainbow

Every 60 minutes, crops can get the Luck mutation.

Details: Submit Luck-mutated crops to the gold pots for rewards.

Mega Safari Harvest

Safari Joe Arrives! 2x points from submitting! Players can submit pets to Safari Joe for a random reward.

Details: The sky rains milk, while cookies fall.

Nutty Fever

The player who activated the event will have their Chubby Chipmunk's cooldown reduced to 30 seconds.

Details: Several acorns can be seen floating in the sky. This event is client-based, so it doesn't affect other players' Chubby Chipmunk.

Safari Drought

Details: The ground turns desaturated and yellow, with small patches of grass.

Safari Dusk

Chance to apply Twilight mutation.

Details: The sky turns dark purple and foggy.

Safari Hunt

Increased chance to trigger Arid and Mirage mutations.

Details: Gray clouds fill up the sky, and red eyes can be seen everywhere.

Safari Night

Increased Nocturnal Fruit Chance

Details: Sky-box turns a dark purple, and a pixelated moon appears in the sky. The ground turns desaturated and yellow, with small patches of grass.

Safari Oasis

Increased Mirage Fruit Chance 5x Crafting speed.

Increased Wet Fruit Chance

Details: Rain falls from above. The ground turns desaturated and yellow, with small patches of grass.

Safari Stampede

Increased Stampede Fruit Chance Pet cooldowns advance 2x faster.

Details: Safari animals can be seen running in a straight line. If the player touches one of the animals, the player gets flinged. The ground turns desaturated and yellow, with small patches of grass.

Safari Storm

Chance to apply Typhoon mutation.

Details: Lighting strikes all over the map.

Safari Tour

Rewards every player in the server at each stop. The rewards are Levelup Lollipop, Safari Seed Pack, Safari Crate, and Safari Seed Pack.

Details: A jeep appears on the event island. It circles the map, stopping at each location for the players to take a look. The stops are the Lions, Hyenas, Crocodiles, and the waterfall, before the jeep returns to the event island. The ground turns desaturated and yellow, with small patches of grass.

Safari Typhoon

Chance to apply Monsoon mutation.

Details: This weather also has a mutation that goes by the same name.

Silent Night

When the bells ring, gives all players a random boost for 45 seconds. The boosts are: 3x Movement Speed, Snowy Mutation chance.

Details: The sky turns dark, it snows, and bells can be heard.

Smithing Fever

Chance to apply Tempered mutation.

Details: Hammers are flying around.

Smithing Storm

5x Crafting speed

Details: Hammers, shields, anvils, and smithing tools can be seen spinning and flying around.

Snow Day

Chance to apply Chilled mutation.

Details: A Snow Fort appears near the Gear Shop Snowballs appear on the map, and players can collect them.

Snowball Fight

Working Bee Swarm

Multiple worker bees visit each player's garden. Applies the Pollinated mutation to random crops at a greater speed than in a standard Bee Swarm. x10 craft speed.

Yeti Night

Spawns dead trees around the map. By approaching the dead trees, the player can interact with it to chop the tree down, giving three snow-related mutations to crops in the players garden!

Pixel particles and leaves revolve around the skybox. Once every 30 seconds of the Zen event the Zen Channeller summons an orb that applies the Tranquil mutation to a random crop.
