Nextbots are the faces (and a few full 3D models) that chase you across Evade maps. Most sit in the public pool, while others only show up in special rounds, VIP inserts, map locks, or Legacy mode. Use tier, speed, form, and spawn notes to tell a normal face from a round that wants your full movement kit.

Common
Default public chase pool. These are the faces you will learn by sound and silhouette first. Most run near average nextbot speed, so clean sprint lines and map knowledge beat raw panic.

Evade is a round-based hide-and-run game, and nextbots are the main threat. A few of them are active at once in a normal match. They path along the map, close in when they hear or see you, and kill almost instantly if they get within a couple of studs. Fighting them is rarely the plan. Their health is enormous, so you win by not getting cornered.
How a chase actually feels
You usually hear a nextbot before you cleanly see it. Proximity audio ramps up as it gets closer, lights can flicker, and a screen filter can kick in when the hit is near. Average public bots are a hair slower than a full sprint, which is why cola, bhop lines, and clean map routes matter more than standing still and hoping they miss.
Many bots also teleport when they get stuck. That keeps pressure on even if you lose line of sight. Some of the fastest and 3D specials behave differently: they may high-jump or struggle to teleport onto high ledges the same way a normal 2D face does. Treat tall cover as useful, not automatic free safety.
What the tiers mean in play
- Common is the everyday public pool. Learn faces and sounds so you can path early instead of panicking late.
- Uncommon is where special rounds, hard AI, extreme speed, TF2 mercs with lower spawn chance, and map-locked 3D threats live. These are the ones that punish bad habits.
- Exclusive bots are VIP-style or special inserts, including whole Rebel variants and seasonal-looking roster entries. Do not expect them as normal randoms.
- Legacy only appears in the Legacy gamemode after Overhaul. Same chase idea, older roster.
Speed that actually changes the run
Most commons run near average chase pace with no special speed modifier. When a bot lists one, treat it as a real warning:
| Speed band | Examples | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Slightly off average | Sanic, Bobo R6, Mimic, Rebel (-25%) | Normal movement tools still work; Rebel is the rare slow one |
| Noticeably faster | Hard Difficulty, Angry Bobo variants, Angry Munci (+66%) | Save cola and clean corners; Angry Munci also turns hard and is tough to juke |
| Extreme | Super Munci (+240%), Cat Jard / Wolf Rebel (+255%) | Pre-plan high ground and full-speed routes the second the round starts |
Sight-gated specials such as Bacteria, Defect, Eyeless, Triple T, and Trollge are extra mean after they spot you. Do not peek the same hallway twice if one already has line of sight.
Survival habits that hold up
- Keep moving. Dead ends and clumps of players make teleports and tight chases worse.
- Learn the hard names first: Angry Munci, Super Munci, Cat Jard, Wolf Rebel, and the Backrooms-locked Bacteria.
- Use vehicles, cola, and map geometry against extreme speed, not raw panic sprinting into a corner.
- When a special round starts, read the threat before you loot mid-map. Some rounds are basically a named nextbot event.
- In Legacy mode, expect older faces that no longer sit in the modern public pool.
Common mistakes
- Treating every face like the same speed. The average bot is manageable; Cat Jard is not.
- Standing still once proximity audio starts. That filter is a countdown, not flavor.
- Trying to kill a nextbot for sport. Despawns from voids or hazards can just bring another one in.
- Ignoring form. 3D and GIF specials often come with different movement or audio tells than flat 2D faces.
- Assuming Exclusive or Legacy bots will show up in a normal Overhaul public round. They will not.
Master the public faces for day-to-day runs, then treat Uncommon specials as the real skill check. Speed and ability notes are the difference between a chill escape and a round that ends in one bad turn.
VIP panel and exclusive inserts, including Rebel variants and seasonal-styled roster entries that stay listed outside normal public randoms. You will not see these as ordinary public pool rolls.
Only in the Legacy gamemode after Overhaul. Same chase fantasy with older faces that left the modern public roster.
Special rounds, hard AI, extreme speed, reduced-chance TF2 mercs, and permanent 3D specials. Read speed and ability here before the round gets loud. Angry Munci, Super Munci, Cat Jard, Wolf Rebel, and map-locked Bacteria are the big skill checks.
FAQ
What is a nextbot in Evade?
A nextbot is a chase enemy that paths after players. Most look like flat 2D faces, some are GIFs, and newer specials use full 3D models. If one closes within a few studs, it hits hard enough to end a life almost instantly.
Are all nextbots the same speed?
No. Average public bots sit slightly under a full sprint, which is why movement items still matter. Specials can jump far past that: Angry Munci is a large boost with sticky AI, Super Munci is extreme, and Cat Jard or Wolf Rebel are among the fastest listed.
How do I survive Angry Munci?
Treat it as a special-round hard chase, not a normal face. It turns quickly, holds speed differently from soft-accelerating bots, and is hard to juke in tight halls. Keep distance early, avoid dead ends, and spend cola or high-speed tools when it already has you in a line.
What is the difference between Common and Uncommon nextbots?
Common bots fill the normal public pool. Uncommon covers special rounds, reduced-chance sets like the TF2 mercs, extreme-speed threats, and permanent 3D specials. Uncommon is where the round rules change and you need to play sharper.
Do Exclusive nextbots spawn in normal public rounds?
No. Exclusive entries are VIP-style or special inserts, including many Rebel variants. They sit outside the ordinary public random pool even when they stay on the durable roster.
What does Legacy mean for nextbots?
Legacy nextbots only appear in the Legacy gamemode. After Overhaul they are not part of the modern public roster, but they still exist for that older mode.
Why do some nextbots teleport?
Many bots teleport when they get stuck so they keep pressure on the lobby. Extremely fast bots and some 3D specials may not teleport to high places the same way, and can high-jump or take longer paths instead. Height helps, but it is not free forever.
Can I kill nextbots with weapons?
Technically they have hit points, but their health is so high that combat is almost never the real plan. Focus on escape tools, map routes, and not getting surrounded. Hazard or void deaths can also despawn a bot and bring another one in.
What does form (2D, 3D, GIF) change?
Form is how the nextbot is presented. Classic bots are flat 2D faces. GIF bots animate in place. 3D specials use full models and often come from special-round or collab updates, sometimes with sight-based speed boosts or map locks like Bacteria on Backrooms.
