Special rounds are the modifier rounds that break Evade's normal nextbot loop. Every third round (while the run keeps going), the game swaps in a gimmick: flipped controls, black fog, bigger or faster bots, or a full flood of named nextbots. Public specials sit on top of the same survival loop, not a separate mode. You still need to last the round, but the rules change how you move, what you can hear, how crowded the map gets, or which nextbots show up. VIP servers can force the same public specials from the private panel; the public pool is what normal lobbies roll through.

Think in four buckets. Player modifiers change your body or camera (speed, jump, inverted look, reversed inputs). Environment specials cut vision, mute idle audio, hide bots until close, or grow the bot count when someone goes down. Nextbot modifiers leave the usual pool alone but scale speed, size, or count. Featured nextbot rounds replace that mix with a named cast, from Bobo packs to Plushie Hell's CatJard and Wolf Rebel flood.

Multipliers and when to lean in

Reward multipliers sit above a normal round when the special is documented. Plushie Hell pays the top listed rate (×2) and fills the map with two of the fastest bots. Cat Jard (×1.7) and Lurking / Super Munci (×1.6) are pure speed pressure with lower counts. Angry Munci sits at ×1 with a hide-first tagline: raw sprinting loses to smart pathing and corners. Newer spotlight specials (Spectre's Wish, Damnation, 3D Rampage, Trollge, and friends) often have no published multiplier yet, so treat them as chaos first and farm value second until numbers land.

Loadouts that actually help

  • Darkness / Damnation / Spectre's Wish: Night Vision and sound discipline beat pure line of sight.
  • Quiet: Radar and Sensor replace idle audio tells; kill sounds still play.

Featured floods vs scale modifiers

Double and Triple Trouble multiply the normal spawn count and close safe corners without changing who can spawn. Size specials (Tiny / Big / Huge) change how easy bots are to spot and how much space they block. Featured rounds do both a cast swap and a density plan: party specials (Cat Party, Bunny Party) pack high counts of themed bots; spotlight specials (Baldi's Basics, Defect, Oswald, The Eyeless) put one family front and center. Spawn notes often scale with server size, so a "normal" count and a large-server range can both be right.

Mistakes that waste the round

  • Treating every high multiplier as "just run faster" when the gimmick is visibility, silence, or permanent downs (Spectre's Wish notes permanent deaths).
  • Ignoring taglines: Incursion is about sightlines; Angry Munci is about hiding; Mimic wants you watching friend-shaped chasers.
  • Saving radar or night vision for later rounds, then rolling Quiet or Darkness empty-handed.
  • Camping vertical spots in Survive The Gubbies when Gubbies can jump high.
  • Reading a missing multiplier as free: newer featured specials can still wipe the lobby even without a listed farm bonus.

Pick usables for the rule that just appeared, not the round you wish you had. Speed and Super Sonic reward clean movement; fog and quiet reward tools and patience; featured swarms reward knowing which bot family just owned the map.
