Blox Fruits fighting styles are the melee side of your build. They decide your close-combat style, sit on the Melee stat path, and become a long unlock chain once mastery, fragments, teachers, and materials start stacking up.
Combat is the starter style, but the real progression starts when you learn styles from teacher NPCs. Dark Step, Electric, Water Kung Fu, and Dragon Breath are early building blocks. Later styles turn those older choices into requirements for Death Step, Sharkman Karate, Electric Claw, Dragon Talon, Superhuman, Godhuman, and Sanguine Art.

Starter and First Sea fighting styles
Combat is the automatic starter style, while Dark Step, Electric, and Water Kung Fu are early teacher styles. These matter later because their mastery paths feed into stronger Second Sea and Third Sea unlocks.

Fighting styles are a melee progression path
A fighting style is the hand-to-hand combat style your character uses in Blox Fruits. You begin with Combat for free, then replace it by learning another style from a teacher. Combat is the odd one out because once it is replaced, it cannot be relearned like the other styles.
Most fighting styles are learned by paying a teacher, but the cost changes as you move through the seas. First Sea styles are mostly simple money purchases. Second Sea and Third Sea styles add fragments, mastery gates, keys, timed quests, materials, and special items.
How the main unlock chains work
| Unlock path | What the chain means |
|---|---|
| Combat | Starter melee style. It is automatic, free, and replaced once another style is learned. |
| Dark Step -> Death Step | Dark Step is an early style. Death Step later needs 400 Dark Step mastery, the Library Key route, money, and fragments. |
| Electric -> Electric Claw | Electric starts as a First Sea style. Electric Claw needs 400 Electric mastery, Previous Hero's timed quest, money, and fragments. |
| Water Kung Fu -> Sharkman Karate | Water Kung Fu leads into Sharkman Karate, which needs 400 Water Kung Fu mastery, Water Key, money, and fragments. |
| Dragon Breath -> Dragon Talon | Dragon Breath is fragment-only. Dragon Talon later needs 400 Dragon Breath mastery, Fire Essence, money, and fragments. |
| Four base styles -> Superhuman | Superhuman asks for 300 mastery on Dark Step, Electric, Water Kung Fu, and Dragon Breath. |
| Five upgraded styles -> Godhuman | Godhuman is the larger endgame chain. It needs 400 mastery on Superhuman, Death Step, Electric Claw, Sharkman Karate, and Dragon Talon, plus money, fragments, and materials. |
| Leviathan Heart route -> Sanguine Art | Sanguine Art follows a separate Third Sea path through Shafi, Leviathan Heart, materials, money, and fragments. |
Mastery stays with the style
Switching fighting styles does not wipe the mastery you already earned on that style. That makes the grind less punishing than it looks at first. You can work on Dark Step mastery, switch to another style, and still keep that Dark Step progress for Death Step later.
This is why early styles matter even after you outgrow them in normal combat. They are part of the unlock ladder. A player chasing Godhuman needs to plan several mastery grinds instead of only saving money for the final purchase.
Costs need to be read as currencies and items
Blox Fruits fighting style costs are easy to misread when every number is shown together. A style can ask for money, fragments, materials, or a special unlock item. Dragon Breath uses fragments instead of money. Godhuman needs money, fragments, and materials. Sanguine Art needs Leviathan Heart before the rest of the cost even matters.
Treat the cost as an unlock checklist: reach the right sea, find the teacher, meet the mastery gate, bring any key or material, then pay the listed currencies.
How to Use This Blox Fruits Fighting Styles List
Treat each fighting style as an unlock checklist.
- Check whether the teacher is tied to your current sea or a later sea.
- Confirm the cost type. Money, fragments, materials, and special items are different requirements.
- Check the mastery gate. A 300 or 400 mastery requirement means you need to grind an earlier style first.
- Watch for extra unlocks such as Library Key, Water Key, Previous Hero's timed quest, Fire Essence, Godhuman materials, or Leviathan Heart.
- Keep old mastery progress in mind. Switching styles does not erase the mastery already earned on that style.
FAQ
What are fighting styles in Blox Fruits?
Fighting styles are melee combat styles learned from teacher NPCs. They control your close-combat moves and connect to the Melee stat path.
Do fighting styles lose mastery when you switch?
No. A fighting style keeps its mastery after you switch away from it, so earlier mastery grinds still count when you need that style for a later unlock.
Can Combat be learned again after replacing it?
No. Combat is the starter style, and once another fighting style replaces it, Combat cannot be relearned.
Why do early fighting styles matter later?
Several late styles require mastery on earlier styles. Dark Step, Electric, Water Kung Fu, and Dragon Breath all feed into later unlock paths, and Superhuman becomes part of the Godhuman chain.
Why do some fighting style costs include fragments or materials?
Later Blox Fruits fighting styles are built as progression checks. Money is only one part of the cost; styles such as Death Step, Sharkman Karate, Electric Claw, Dragon Talon, Godhuman, and Sanguine Art can also involve fragments, mastery gates, keys, quests, materials, or special items.
