Which Blox Fruit should you use? If you want one all-around answer, Dragon is the most complete choice. Buddha is the safer grind-first pick, Dough, Tiger, or Control make more sense for a PvP-focused build, Light is the comfortable First Sea option, and Magma is the specialist to consider for Sea Events. Gas is another high-end all-around alternative.
This article ranks all 42 current base fruits after Update 30. It is an editorial comparison, not an official developer list, and no fruit wins every activity.
Blox Fruits Tier List: All 42 Fruits Ranked
The overview uses one overall scope: cross-mode usefulness, grinding and PvE, Sea Events, PvP, movement or utility, and learning curve. The tiers are best-first, while the mode-specific recommendations later explain why a lower overall placement can still be the right pick for you.

How This Blox Fruits Tier List Ranks Every Fruit
This is one overall ranking rather than separate PvP, grinding, or beginner lists. I weigh how consistently a fruit contributes to PvE grinding and raids, Sea Events, PvP, movement or utility, and the learning curve required to get value from it.
Price and trading demand are context, not automatic reasons to move a fruit up. A fruit can sit in A overall and still be the better choice for a specific activity, while a high-demand S-tier fruit may be a poor fit for a player who only wants faster leveling.
The roster follows the current names: Buddha is listed as Buddha, and Rocket, Blade, Ghost, Creation, Portal, Spider, Pain, Lightning, Eagle, and Tiger are not separate entries from their older aliases. Mutations, replaced fruits, the reworked Dragon (Classic), and the admin-only Meme entry are not counted as base fruits.
S Tier
| Image | Fruit | Best use | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Control | High-skill PvP control | Takes more practice than a simple grind pick |
![]() | Dark | PvP control and pressure | Depends more on player execution |
![]() | Dough | PvP combos and stuns | Better for a PvP specialist than a simple leveling route |
![]() | Dragon | General-purpose PvE and PvP | Buddha is clearer for a grind-only build |
![]() | Gas | Area damage, damage over time, and transformation utility | Its broader kit is less direct than a dedicated farming pick |
![]() | Buddha | Grinding and raids | Not the best PvP specialist |
![]() | Tiger | Aggressive PvP and mobility | More combat-focused than beginner-focused |
![]() | Shadow | High-skill combat | Requires more familiarity than straightforward picks |
![]() | Venom | High-pressure combat | Not the default first grind recommendation |
![]() | Magnet | New control, defense, and transformation tools | Provisional placement; meter, mastery, speed, and Lightning matchup matter |
Dragon is the anchor of this tier because it combines damage, durability, mobility, transformation, and broad PvE/PvP usefulness. Gas belongs in the same all-around conversation because it combines area damage, damage over time, and transformation utility, but neither should be read as the universal winner for every player.
The other S-tier fruits split by purpose. Buddha is the clear value pick when your priority is leveling, since its transformation improves melee and sword reach while adding survivability. Dough and Tiger are more natural PvP choices, while Control and Dark reward players who are comfortable with high-skill control tools. Shadow and Venom are strong upper-tier options, but they are less obvious beginner recommendations.
Magnet is the one deliberately provisional placement in the tier. Its scrap-powered Magnetic Power meter, staged transformation, and passive pull give it real control and defensive utility, but the new fruit also asks for mastery, can feel slow while transforming, and takes extra damage from Lightning. Keep it in S if you value its toolkit, but treat it as an S/A-border pick while the Update 30 meta settles.
A Tier
| Image | Fruit | Best use | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Kitsune | High-end general combat | Recent balance pressure keeps it below the most consistent S picks |
![]() | Gravity | Strong offensive alternative | Less universally easy to recommend than Dragon or Buddha |
![]() | Ice | PvP and utility | Can be more valuable in PvP than its overall tier suggests |
![]() | Lightning | High-value PvP | More demanding than beginner-friendly farming picks |
![]() | Magma | Sea Events, especially when awakened | Specialist strength is not the same as all-around value |
![]() | Mammoth | High-end alternative combat | More situational than the S-tier all-around choices |
![]() | Phoenix | Flexible support and combat | Needs a clearer role than the best general-purpose options |
![]() | Portal | Mobility, utility, and sword mains | Its value is highest when that utility fits your build |
![]() | Sound | Flexible combat alternative | Less immediately focused than a dedicated grind or PvP pick |
![]() | Yeti | Strong alternative for experienced players | Less proven all-around consistency than S tier |
![]() | Quake | High-impact combat | A stronger fit for players who know the combat system |
![]() | Sand | PvP and utility | Can outperform its overall rank in the right matchup |
![]() | Spider | PvP and utility | More specialized than the top all-around fruits |
A tier is where strong alternatives live. Magma is the clearest example of why one ranking cannot answer every question: it rises sharply for Sea Events, especially when awakened, even though it is less complete across the whole scope. Portal similarly becomes more valuable when mobility or sword play matters, while Ice, Sand, and Spider can punch above this tier in PvP or utility.
Kitsune remains powerful, but recent balance pressure makes it harder to place above the most dependable S-tier choices. The rest of the tier is best read as a menu of capable alternatives. Choose the fruit whose specialty matches your build rather than assuming every A-tier entry is interchangeable.
B Tier
| Image | Fruit | Best use | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Blizzard | Solid combat and area pressure | Depends more on build and mastery |
![]() | Creation | General mid-tier use | Stronger options are more consistent across the full scope |
![]() | Diamond | Durable, straightforward use | Narrower overall utility than A-tier alternatives |
![]() | Light | First Sea progression | Less compelling as an all-purpose endgame choice |
![]() | Pain | Build-specific combat | Depends more on mastery than a broad farming fruit |
![]() | Rubber | Solid niche use | Gives up some cross-mode consistency |
![]() | Spirit | Build-dependent combat | More mastery-sensitive than general-purpose picks |
![]() | T-Rex | Build-dependent combat | Does not suit every progression route |
![]() | Ghost | Build-dependent combat | More conditional than the stronger upper tiers |
![]() | Eagle | Solid mid-tier option | Not as broadly recommended as the top alternatives |
![]() | Flame | Early progression | All-around value falls off beside stronger late-game choices |
B does not mean bad. Light and Flame are useful precisely because early progression has different needs from endgame PvP, and Light is especially comfortable in the First Sea. Blizzard, Spirit, T-Rex, Ghost, and Pain can also work well when your build and mastery support them.
The practical rule is simple: keep a B-tier fruit while it serves your current goal. Switch when another fruit gives you a clear upgrade in grinding, PvP, or movement.
C Tier
| Image | Fruit | Best use | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Blade | Limited or early progression use | Stronger alternatives cover more activities |
![]() | Love | Niche use and experimentation | Less reliable for a broad progression plan |
![]() | Smoke | Temporary early-game use | Quickly outclassed when broader options appear |
These fruits are still usable, but you have stronger options for most progression and endgame goals. If one is helping you through an early route or a specific build, there is no need to abandon it immediately. Treat a better drop as a practical upgrade rather than a statement that the current fruit cannot work.
D Tier
| Image | Fruit | Best use | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Bomb | Starter combat | Quickly outperformed in the all-around scope |
![]() | Rocket | Starter progression | Limited value once stronger fruits are available |
![]() | Spin | Starter or narrow use | Less cross-mode value than higher tiers |
![]() | Spike | Narrow-use combat | A stronger general-purpose option is usually worth the swap |
![]() | Spring | Starter movement or combat | Overall value is limited after early progression |
D is a recommendation to move on when a stronger fruit becomes available, not a claim that every D-tier fruit loses every matchup. These fruits can get you started, but they are quickly outperformed under an all-around ranking that includes raids, Sea Events, PvP, mobility, and long-term progression.
Best Blox Fruits for Grinding, PvP, Sea Events, and Beginners
| Goal | Recommendation | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| General use | Dragon | The most complete mix of damage, durability, mobility, transformation, and PvE/PvP usefulness |
| Grinding and raids | Buddha | Its transformation expands melee and sword reach while improving survivability |
| PvP | Dough, Tiger, Control, Dark, Lightning, Gas, or Portal | These fruits cover combo/stun play, aggressive mobility, high-skill control, area pressure, or mobility utility |
| Sea Events | Magma | It is especially strong for Sea Events when awakened |
| First Sea and beginners | Light | It is a comfortable early-progression choice |
| Mobility or sword mains | Portal | Its utility is unusually valuable when movement and sword play are central |
Use the overall tiers to narrow your options, then use this table to make the final call. If you are still deciding without a specific build, Dragon is the safest single recommendation. If your immediate goal is faster leveling, choose Buddha; if you are preparing for PvP, start with the fruit whose control or mobility style you actually want to practice.
