Showdown is Red Dead Revolver's local multiplayer mode, and most of its levels stay locked until you earn or buy them. Each locked level opens through a rating, a Bounty Hunter clear or a $1,000 shop item. Knowing which chapter opens which level tells you where to focus.

Open from the start
Earn a rating
Good-rating levels have no shop route, so the story rating is the only way in.
Clear a Bounty Hunter chapter
Bounty Hunter mode opens after you finish the story once. Each of these levels also has a shop item, so the chapter clear is optional.
Shop only
Fairground and The Mansion have no free route, so you have to buy them. The Xbox version also has The Coliseum, an extra Showdown stage.
Twin Rocks and Desert Fortress are ready from your first launch. Sunset Canyon and Fallen Creek each have a Bounty Hunter route and a $1,000 shop alternative.
Good ratings in story order
A Good rating on these chapters opens the matching level. Ghost Town comes from Chapter 10, The Cemetery, and The Ranch from Chapter 11, Range War. The Bridge opens on Chapter 13, The Traitor, and The Mine on Chapter 17. Mansion Grounds is the last one, on Chapter 25, The Siege.
Chapter 13 does double duty. A Good rating there opens The Bridge, and a Bounty Hunter clear there opens Fallen Creek.
Excellent ratings on Chapters 1 and 3
Broken Creek comes from Chapter 1, Bull's Eye, and Widow's Patch from Chapter 3, Ugly Streetfight. Both need an Excellent rating, and that means passing any 3 of the 4 targets. Here are the numbers for each:
| Chapter | Level | Accuracy | Damage Taken | Time | Best Combo |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1, Bull's Eye | Broken Creek | 50% | 40% | 5:30 | $150 |
| 3, Ugly Streetfight | Widow's Patch | 70% | 125% | 5:00 | $200 |
Bounty Hunter levels
Sunset Canyon comes from Chapter 14, Sunset Canyon, where you steal the horse without being spotted. Fallen Creek comes from Chapter 13, The Traitor, where you keep at least two charge setters alive.
What each shop item costs and when
Every purchase costs $1,000. Buying all of them comes to $6,000, but you only need the ones for levels you can't earn.
| Level | Item | Where and when | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Widow's Patch | Deed to Saloon | Brimstone bank, after Chapter 5, 7 or 22 | $1,000 |
| Broken Creek | Burnt Gun Case | Start of Chapter 2 | $1,000 |
| Fairground | Uniform | Brimstone tailor, after Chapter 8 or 10 | $1,000 |
| Fallen Creek | Gold Nugget | Start of Chapter 20 | $1,000 |
| Sunset Canyon | Coach | Start of Chapter 21 | $1,000 |
| The Mansion | Poster | General Store in Brimstone, after Chapter 22 | $1,000 |
The Bridge, The Ranch, The Mine and Ghost Town have their items already owned, so those levels cost nothing extra.
Mistakes that waste time
- Mixing up Mansion Grounds and The Mansion. The names sound alike, but Mansion Grounds opens on a Good rating in Chapter 25, The Siege. The Mansion needs the Poster, which isn't for sale until after Chapter 22.
- Buying an Excellent level before trying its run. A purchase skips the rating. Try the targets first, and pay only if they keep beating you.

FAQ
Is Red Dead Online part of Showdown?
No. Showdown is the local multiplayer mode of the original Red Dead Revolver, and nothing from Red Dead Online is part of it.
Is there a Showdown level that only the Xbox version has?
Yes. The Coliseum is on the Xbox version only. The PS2 and PS4 releases use the shared stage roster.
What is the Well Provisioned trophy?
On the PS4 re-release, Well Provisioned requires you to buy every item the Shop has for sale, from every vendor. The Showdown purchases count toward it, but they don't finish it on their own.
