In House Flipper, a first-person renovation game, you buy run-down houses, fix them up and sell them for a profit. To start, you earn money by taking jobs from people around town, like cleaning, painting or installing a shower, and those jobs also unlock new tools for bigger work.
Most of a session is a simple cycle of taking a job, earning money and saving toward a house of your own. Once you buy one, you rebuild it by knocking down walls, clearing out trash, cleaning, and adding paint, tiles and furniture. Each tool you use earns experience, which you can spend on upgrades that make the work faster.
When the house is ready, you put it up for sale and buyers make offers. Buyers each have their own wants, and they will pay less for a messy or incomplete house. Your profit is the sale price minus what you paid for the house and its furniture, and that money lets you move up to bigger properties. The sequel, House Flipper 2, follows the same basic loop with story jobs, a sandbox mode for building from scratch and online co-op for up to four players.

House Flipper gameplay tips
- In House Flipper, work through the early jobs before you buy a house. They pay you and unlock the tools a bigger flip needs, so you'll have what you need when you're ready to buy.
- Clean a house before you decorate it. Trash and dirt pull down the price buyers will pay, and fancy furniture won't hide them.
- Start with a small, cheap house. Early mistakes cost far less on a small place, while large, expensive houses cost much more to get wrong.
- Give every room the things it needs. A bedroom needs a bed, a bathroom needs a toilet, a sink and a bath or shower, and a kitchen needs a sink and a fridge. The game only counts a room as working when it has these, and a useful room sells better than an expensive one.
- Choose one buyer and build for them. Buyers have their own likes, such as wanting more armchairs or disliking a messy presentation, so a layout built around one buyer usually beats a mix of styles.
- In House Flipper 2, try the furniture assembly mini-games on your tablet. Finishing one unlocks a store discount on that kind of furniture, which keeps more of the sale as profit.
