Storage Hunters Wild West Event Guide: Earn Gold Nuggets and Unlock Exclusive Rewards

Updated on September 14, 2026 (less than a minute ago)

Storage Hunters: Open World's Wild West event gives you a short window to earn Gold Nuggets and turn them into random event rewards. It runs through September 26, 2026, and the loop is broader than a single quest: you will use Wild West Auctions for tools and safes, complete map activities, and save 200 Nuggets for each Wild West Market roll.

Start at Wild West Auctions or Wild West Town, then switch between panning, horse races, bounties, town defense, and safes as each option becomes available. Here is what each route requires, how you finish it, and what the Market can award.

How to Start the Wild West Event in Storage Hunters

The Wild West content is available automatically during the event window, so you do not need to find a separate unlock quest. Head to Wild West Auctions first if you need event gear, then use Wild West Town as your base for the Gold Panner, Stable, Sheriff, and defense activity.

You may get a 10-use Gold Pan from the Gold Panner in Wild West Town, and Gold Panner tools can also appear in Wild West Auctions. Check whichever source is available for your first pan, then use the other if you need an extra tool.

How to Earn Gold Nuggets in Storage Hunters

Gold Nuggets come from five supported routes. You can rotate between them instead of waiting on one activity, but each has a different requirement and completion condition.

RouteWhat you needWhat completes it
Gold PanningA Gold PanFinish the final sift and collect the Nuggets left in the pan
Horse racingA Horse from Wild West AuctionsFinish on the race podium; placement affects the reward
BountiesA working gun and the Sheriff routeDefeat outlaws and bring them back to the Sheriff
Wild West Town defenseAccess to Town when the defense event spawnsProtect the town successfully through the event
Gold Nugget SafesA safe from an auction or map area, plus a Lockpick or the Lockpick NPCOpen the safe and claim its Nugget reward

The exact Nugget payouts and activity timers aren't listed, so use the live event prompt to see what's available. While you wait for a race, bounty, or defense event, keep panning or opening safes.

Gold Panning in Storage Hunters

Gold Panning has a fixed sequence once you have a pan. The pan supplied by the Gold Panner has 10 uses, and the same basic process applies to a Gold Panner tool obtained from an event auction.

  1. Get a Gold Pan from the Gold Panner in Wild West Town or from Wild West Auctions. If one option is unavailable, check the other; the pan described from the Gold Panner has 10 uses.
  2. Take the pan to a beach or another sandy area.
  3. Equip it and click and hold to pick up sand.
  4. Click and hold again to sift the sand.
  5. Move toward the water, then click and hold one more time to sift the remaining sand.
  6. Collect the Gold Nuggets left in the pan when the final sift is complete.

Do not stop after the first sift. The water transition and final hold are part of the route, and the Nuggets are collected from the pan at the end.

Horse Racing in Storage Hunters

Win or collect a Horse through Wild West Auctions, then take it to the Stable in Wild West Town. Interact with the Horsekeeper NPC or wait inside the Green Circle for the race to begin.

To receive Gold Nuggets, finish on the podium. Your finishing position affects the reward, but no fixed amount is listed for each place. If no race is active, check back at the Stable when the Green Circle or event prompt appears and use another Nugget route in the meantime.

Hunt Bounties and Defend Wild West Town

Bounties. Get a working gun from Wild West Auctions, then use the Sheriff to claim or turn in the bounty. Find the outlaws around the map, defeat them, and bring the defeated outlaws back to the Sheriff so he can collect them and award Gold Nuggets.

Town defense. A separate defense event can spawn in Wild West Town. Join the event and keep protecting the town until it is successfully defended, which is the completion condition for its Nugget reward. Defeating roaming outlaws and turning them in does not complete this defense activity; the two routes have separate objectives.

How to Open Gold Nugget Safes

Gold Nugget Safes can appear in Wild West Auctions or in other areas of the map. Win or collect a safe, then take it to the Lockpick NPC or use a Lockpick of your own. Once the safe is opened, claim the Gold Nuggets from its reward screen.

This route is useful when you find a safe before you have a personal Lockpick because the NPC provides the other way to open it. The safe itself is the objective; you do not need to carry it through another event activity after opening it.

Wild West Market Rewards in Storage Hunters

The Wild West Market is inside the Saloon. Bring 200 Gold Nuggets for one roll, then receive one random reward from the event pool. The detailed percentages below are the Pro Game Guides-reported reward odds for this event, not developer-confirmed guarantees.

Market rewardReported chance
Cowboy Classic Car0.5%
Grade Removal Potion1%
Mutator Extractor Potion2%
Premium Certificate of Authenticity3.8%
Free Grade Re-Roll Potion5.2%
Wild West Luck Drink8.8%
Fast Grading Potion17.5%
Auction Rush Potion26.2%
Unlimited Xray Alien Potion35%

The Cowboy Classic Car is the rarest listed outcome, not a vehicle you can guarantee by saving a particular number of Nuggets. Treat every purchase as a random 200-Nugget roll, and do not mistake the Market pool for a direct shop where you can choose the car.

Wild West Mutators and Other Limited Event Loot

The Market rewards are only one part of the Wild West update. Event loot also introduces four limited mutators: Dusty, Tumbleweed, Gunsmoked, and Goldrush. These are separate from the Market roll and belong with the event's auction and item loot.

A Dusty item can be taken to a washing station or cleaned for a chance to become Saloon Sparkle. The event also adds a horse carriage vehicle, but it is not listed as a Market reward in the table above, so do not spend Nuggets expecting the carriage from a roll.

Items that already have one of the event mutators retain those mutations after the event ends, even though new event-mutated drops stop. That makes the September 26 cutoff important for finding new Wild West loot, while existing items remain useful afterward.

For a practical event loop, check Wild West Auctions first for the pan, Horse, working gun, and safes you need. Pan between races, bounty opportunities, and Town defense prompts, turn defeated outlaws in to the Sheriff, and open every Nugget Safe you can. Once you have 200 Nuggets, use the Saloon Market and repeat the cycle before the event ends.
