Ride A Pet Radar Guide: How to Get and Use Radars

Updated on September 30, 2026 (4 days ago)

Searching for a particular egg in Ride a Pet can turn into a long ride around the map. A Radar narrows that search to one egg rarity, so you can travel toward a target instead of hoping you cross its spawn.

Ride a Pet has six standard Cash Radars, sold through the Gears Shop. Each one is single-use, and the tracking window starts as soon as you activate it, so prepare your mount, route, and open nest first. Here is which Radar matches each rarity, how to buy one, and how to complete the trip back to your plot.

All Ride a Pet Radars: Prices and Egg Rarities

Each standard Radar tracks one egg rarity. The price increases with the rarity it targets, but a more expensive Radar does not track every lower rarity too. Use the table to match your planned egg to the correct purchase, then confirm the price on the live Gears card because prices and stock can change.

RadarTarget egg rarityCash priceUse it when
Advanced RadarRare$50You are learning the system or looking for Rare eggs early on.
Jewel RadarEpic$3,000Your target is an Epic egg.
Royal RadarLegendary$20,000You want to track a Legendary egg.
Magic RadarMythic$300,000You are ready to spend more Cash on a Mythic hunt.
Angelic RadarDivine$7,000,000You have the Cash and travel setup for a Divine egg.
Eternal RadarEthereal$30,000,000You are prepared for a top-tier Ethereal run and can bring the egg home quickly.

If you need to identify the egg rarity before buying, the Ride a Pet eggs reference can help. The Ride a Pet Gears collection is also useful for checking the six Radar entries in one place.

How to Get Radars in Ride a Pet

Standard Radars are Cash purchases from the Gears Shop in the central ranch or market area. Before you buy one, make sure you have enough Cash and that the tier you want is in the live shop listing.

  1. Prepare for the run. Check the rarity of the egg you want, make sure you can afford its matching Radar, and clear an open nest at your plot. Having a controllable mount ready matters because the search begins immediately after activation.
  2. Visit the Gears Shop. Open the shop in the central ranch or market area and look through the Radar cards.
  3. Choose the matching tier. Select the Radar for the egg rarity you want, then confirm the Cash purchase. Buying a higher-priced tier is not a shortcut to every rarity, so do not spend on an Eternal Radar if your target is a Mythic egg.
  4. Check your inventory or hotbar. Make sure the Radar appears before you leave the shop. Buying or equipping it does not start the search by itself.

The Gears listing rotates, so a Radar can be unavailable when you visit. If the matching tier is missing, check the live listing again after a later restock instead of buying the wrong rarity.

How to Use a Radar in Ride a Pet

A Radar only becomes useful after you activate it. Set up the return trip first, then complete the following sequence.

  1. Get the return trip ready. Equip a mount you can control, plan to follow the marker without unnecessary detours, and leave an open nest at your plot for the egg.
  2. Equip the Radar. Select it from your inventory or hotbar. Equipping the item alone does not begin the hunt.
  3. Click anywhere on the screen to activate it. A direction marker and distance readout should appear. They guide you toward an eligible egg of the Radar's target rarity.
  4. Follow the marker immediately. The exact target-selection rule can vary, so use the live marker as your route and do not assume it always means the nearest or strongest egg.
  5. Check the egg label before picking it up. Confirm that the egg matches the rarity you bought the Radar for. Another player can reach a shared target first, so arriving at the marker is not by itself proof that the run is complete.
  6. Pick up the egg and return directly to your plot. If you see an Egg Will Break warning while carrying it, treat that as a signal to stop taking detours and head home.
  7. Place the egg in an open nest. The run is complete when the egg is placed at your plot, not merely when you find it or see it in a tracking menu.

There are two different time risks to keep straight. The Radar's guidance window is roughly five minutes from activation, while the egg's break warning applies during the return trip after pickup. Activate only when your mount, route, and nest are ready, then follow the marker and the visible warning instead of waiting for a fixed number of seconds.

Why Your Ride a Pet Radar Hunt Failed

A Radar points you toward a possible target, but the item does not remove every risk from the run. These checks explain the most common ways a hunt can end without a placed egg.

The Radar targets the wrong rarity

Radars are rarity-specific. An Advanced Radar is for Rare eggs, while Magic, Angelic, and Eternal target Mythic, Divine, and Ethereal eggs respectively. Check the table before activating so you do not spend a single-use item on a hunt for the wrong target.

The matching Radar is not in stock

The Gears Shop listing rotates. If the tier you need is missing, wait for a later listing and check again. A different Radar will not substitute for the rarity you actually want.

The marker disappeared before you reached the egg

Standard Radars are single-use, and the guidance window is roughly five minutes after activation. A slow route, difficult terrain, or waiting before moving can use up that window; prepare first and start traveling as soon as the marker appears. If the window expires, the spent Radar is not reusable.

Another player claimed the target

A marker does not guarantee that the egg will still be available when you arrive. If another player reaches a shared egg first, verify the target at the destination and begin another run with a fresh Radar when necessary.

The egg shows a break warning

Once you pick up the egg, return straight to your plot and follow the visible Egg Will Break warning. The exact carry duration is not stable enough to plan around, so use a direct route and a mount you can control rather than relying on a memorized timer.

Your plot has no open nest

Finding and carrying the egg is not the final step. If there is nowhere to place it, prepare an open nest before you activate the Radar so the return trip can end with the egg placed at your plot.

Which Radar Should You Buy in Ride a Pet?

Buy the Radar that matches the egg you want, not simply the most expensive one you can afford. Advanced, Jewel, and Royal are sensible purchases for Rare, Epic, and Legendary hunts while you are building up Cash. Magic is the next major step for Mythic eggs, and Angelic or Eternal should be reserved for players who can afford the purchase and reliably complete the return trip for Divine or Ethereal eggs.

The optional Infinite Radar gamepass is a Robux alternative with unlimited use, but it is not required for the standard acquisition loop. For most players, the safest plan is to identify the target rarity first, buy the matching in-stock tier, and activate it only after the mount and open nest are ready.
