Ride a Dino is a Roblox game where you catch dinosaurs by jumping onto them and holding on until the pink heart meter fills, before your green Stamina meter runs out. Caught dinosaurs go into your pet pen, and the ones in Active slots earn Cash while you keep playing. The first session comes down to four steps:
| Step | What to do | What it gets you |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Train at the Dino Machine at your base | More Stamina, so more dinosaurs meet their Required value |
| 2 | Catch a dinosaur whose Required value is lower than your Stamina | Your first pet pen dinosaur and your first Index entry |
| 3 | Open your collection, press Equip Best, and check the Active slots | Cash every second from each Active dinosaur |
| 4 | Open the Index and press Claim All | A one-time Cash reward and a permanent Stamina boost |
How to Train Your Stamina at the Dino Machine
The Dino Machine is at your base, and it's the first stop in any session. Press E to use it. The machine builds Grip, which the ride screen shows as Stamina.
Training comes first because Stamina sets the limit on what you can catch. Every dinosaur shows a Required value on its nameplate, and your Stamina must be higher than that number. If it isn't, you'll be thrown off no matter how well you time your jumps, so every bit of Stamina you add opens up more of the field.
How to Catch Your First Dinosaur in Ride a Dino
Runs start in the starting zone, where dinosaurs run around. On a keyboard, W, A, S, and D move your character, Spacebar jumps, and E interacts. Before each jump, read the Required value on the nameplate, since a dinosaur you can't meet is a wasted ride.

- Pick a running dinosaur whose Required value is lower than your Stamina.
- Press Spacebar to jump onto it.
- Watch the two meters. The green Stamina meter drains while you ride, and the pink heart fills while you stay on.
- When the green meter runs low, jump to another dinosaur. Each jump refills your Stamina completely, so one run can turn into several catches.
- When the pink heart fills, the dinosaur is caught. If the green meter empties first, you're thrown off and the dinosaur escapes.
Caught dinosaurs go into your inventory until the run ends. Walk to your pet pen and deposit them there, since the pen is where they start earning.
How Active Slots Turn Caught Dinosaurs Into Cash
Your pet pen holds every dinosaur you've deposited, but only the ones in Active slots count toward income. A dinosaur outside an Active slot earns nothing, so a big collection does little until the right dinosaurs are active.
Open your collection and press Equip Best. The game fills your Active slots with your highest earners. After each better catch, check that the new dinosaur is in an Active slot.
Once a dinosaur is active, it earns Cash every second, and your pet pen keeps earning while you're out catching. Rarity, zone, size, and variant all raise the rate, so a rare dinosaur from a later zone usually earns more than a common one from the starting zone.
How to Claim Index Rewards for Cash and Stamina
The Index tracks the dinosaurs you've caught. Your first catch of each species or variant adds an entry, and each new entry comes with a reward. Open the Index and press Claim All to collect every reward at once.

Each reward pays a one-time Cash amount and a permanent boost to your max Stamina. Claim them as soon as they're available. The Stamina boost helps every catch after it, even if the dinosaur that unlocked it earns less than your best earner.
Use One Aura at a Time to Boost Your Stamina
The Aura Shop sells Auras, and each one multiplies the Stamina you've built while it's equipped. You can buy them with Cash and switch between the ones you own.
Only one Aura works at a time, so equipping a new one replaces the current multiplier. Auras matter for catching because the boosted number is the one checked against each Required value. An Aura can turn a dinosaur that was out of reach into a catch you can make.
How to Travel to Other Zones With Jurassic Airlines
The zones include Plains, Desert, Jungle, Snow, and Volcano, and each one has its own dinosaurs. To travel, talk to the Jurassic Airlines NPC with E. Its menu shows each destination, the flyer that reaches it, and that flyer's cost in Cash or Robux.

Check the Required values of the dinosaurs you're after before you pay. A flyer gets you to a zone, but it doesn't lower any Required value, so a trip only pays off when your Stamina can meet the targets there. Once you land, start your runs the same way you do in the starting zone.
Fuse Spare Copies Without Losing Your Active Earners
Fusion is optional, and you can skip it early. At the Fuse Machine, press E and combine three dinosaurs of the same type. All three are used up whether the attempt works or not, so only put in copies you can spare.
Spare copies protect your Active earners. A dinosaur in an Active slot is already paying you, so keep it out of the machine and use extra copies instead. Claim any Index firsts before you fuse, so those rewards are claimed before the copies are gone.
The base success chance is 50%, and Luck from the shop raises it. When an attempt works, your biggest dinosaur moves up one size tier, such as BIG to GIANT. It can fail, so don't count on a bigger dinosaur every time.
