Every FischFright ritual in Fisch starts with Frankenstein in the Cemetery on Caustic Hallow. You pay 100 Treats, then fill the Jack-o-Lantern and Skeletal Hand slots within 1 minute and 30 seconds. There are 11 rituals in one fixed chain. Later rituals need the one before them, a Hex Stage, and a set number of awakened Skeletal Hands.

How to Start a FischFright Ritual with Frankenstein in Fisch
Frankenstein runs every ritual from the Cemetery, so that's where each run begins. Starting one takes three steps:
- Walk to Frankenstein in the Cemetery on Caustic Hallow.
- Talk to Frankenstein and choose the ritual you're working toward.
- Pay 100 Treats and confirm.
Every ritual costs the same 100 Treats, and the timer starts the moment you confirm. It runs for 1 minute and 30 seconds, so gather your ingredients before you pay, not after. Rituals also have a 10-minute cooldown, so it pays to be fully prepared before you start.

How Hex Stage and Awakened Hands Gate Each Ritual
Each ritual is locked by up to three things: the ritual before it, a Hex Stage, and a number of awakened Skeletal Hands. Hexing has no gate at all, and Scary Relic only needs Hexing finished and one awakened hand. The third gate is that hand count, which can be filled with five different awakening items.
Hex Stage is a progress number for the whole chain. You raise it by offering Witch's Ingredients to Beatrix's Cauldron and by filling out your bestiary. Stage V requires 80% bestiary completion, so the last three rituals depend on bestiary progress as well as cauldron offerings.
Hex Stage doesn't come from rituals, even though rituals pay out rewards. Finishing a ritual gives you its reward, but it doesn't move your Hex Stage.
Awakened Skeletal Hands: Items, Grasps, and Where to Get Them
Five items awaken Skeletal Hands, and each one wakes a different hand with its own Grasp name. The two rituals that need five awakened hands can't be finished until you have all five, so it's worth collecting them early.
| Awakening item | Hand it awakens | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Dark Art Skull | Kaelith's Grasp | Complete Goblin objectives |
| Ethereal Rose | Xylar's Grasp | Capture a ghost from a Haunted House (15% chance) |
| Davy's Rose | Azael's Grasp | Buy from the Dutchman Merchant for 5,000 Treats |
| Fable Rose | Korvath's Grasp | Complete Dullahan's quest |
| Gourdemort's Rose | Malakor's Grasp | Complete Pumpkin Pete's quest |
A ghost from a Haunted House gives it 15% of the time, so plan on capturing more than one ghost. Davy's Rose is the one you buy outright, and the Dutchman Merchant lists only one in stock, so buy it when it's available.
How to Fill Jack-o-Lanterns and Skeletal Hands in FischFright
Ritual ingredients go into two kinds of slots, and they work differently.
- Jack-o-Lanterns take most of the ingredients. Each one holds a single item, and a count in the ingredient list means that many slots.
- Skeletal Hands hold the items each ritual lists for them, one item per hand. The number of Skeletal Hand items always matches that ritual's awakened hand count, so a ritual that needs three hands needs three items there.
Ghoul Nessie also uses Destroyed Jack-o-Lanterns, a separate slot type that only that ritual has. It takes three Dark Art Skulls.
Matching has to be exact. A prefix like Grim-mutated means that exact mutation, so a Grim fish can't stand in for a Vile one. Some Boglin slots also exclude shiny or sparkling fish, and size words like small or tiny, or big or giant, need to match too.
Where to Get FischFright Ritual Ingredients in Fisch
Ritual ingredients come from five sources, and the rarest ones need a specific rod, pool, or cauldron offering.
- Witch's Ingredients come from roaming goblin objectives. You need them for the Eldritch ritual and to raise your Hex Stage at Beatrix's Cauldron.
- Event fish come from Caustic Hallow. Named mutations have to match: Boglin mutations come from the Boglin Branch, Doomsekkar mutations from the Doomsekkar rod, and Dutchman's Curse mutations from the Dutchman's Rod.
- Colored 2026 Skulls come from the Frightful Pool that matches each skull. Pools appear at Moosewood, the Statue of Sovereignty, Terrapin Island, and Harvesters Spike. Doomed, Grim, and Vile pools each show up about 26.6% of the time, and Eldritch pools 20% of the time.
- Cauldron rewards: Omniscient Bone and Plush Nessie are unlocked at Beatrix's Cauldron at 350 and 470 Hex Energy. The full breakdown is in Beatrix's Cauldron rewards.
- Merchant items: The Dutchman Merchant on the Flying Dutchman sells Dutchman's Grasp for 25,000 Treats and Omniscient Souls for 10,000 Treats. Dutchman's Grasp has a stock of one, while Omniscient Souls is always available.

Zombie Nessie and Ghoul Nessie Rewards in FischFright
The Haunted Cemetery ritual doesn't give you a fish directly. It gives you 10 minutes in Haunted Cemetery to catch Zombie Nessie, and Zombie Nessie is one of the Omniscient ingredients, so plan that catch before you reach Omniscient.
The Ghoul Nessie ritual is the last one in the chain, and it gives you 5 minutes in Haunted Cemetery to catch Ghoul Nessie. Neither ritual awards the fish automatically, so you have to catch it yourself during that window.
