Madaro (Edo Tensei), Cursed Lover (Pure Love), and Valcrad (Unleashed) are the early consensus carries in Anime Origins. Bluma (Data Analyst) is the farm unit most guides still build around for Infinite and long sessions.
Anime Origins is a Roblox anime tower defense from Origins Project. You summon units, place them on the path, and clear Story, Infinite, and Raids. This board is an early soft ranking for overall PvE priority right after release. It is not an official balance sheet, and mid Mythics are still moving.
Criteria, in order: where early guides agree, kit value when the numbers match across sources, role coverage (carry vs farm vs support), then investment efficiency so you do not dump traits into every mid unit on day one. Soft buckets beat copying one site's letter grid.
Live experience: Anime Origins on Roblox. Codes and patch notes often land first in the Anime Origins Discord. Unit names below are in-game parody names first (Madaro, Cursed Lover, Valcrad), with anime aliases only when they help recognition.
If you also play other anime TDs, the early boards for Anime Expeditions units and Anime Final Strike DPS are separate games with separate rosters. Do not mix their ranks into Anime Origins.

S Tier
| Image | Unit | Role | Why it ranks | Watch out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Madaro (Edo Tensei) | Carry DPS / AOE | Dual top placement; every 5th hit extra 75% AOE + Calamity; Heaven Splitter 500% damage up to 3× range | Spelling swings (Madaro vs Madara); Secret chase cost |
![]() | Cursed Lover (Pure Love) | Carry / copy actives | Dual top placement; Copy stores up to 4 actives; Love Beam 5-hit 300% damage total | Needs setup time to bank copies |
![]() | Valcrad (Unleashed) | Carry / boss control | Dual top placement; +15% crit; range from crits; Coffin Trap 7s boss stun once per boss | Restriction Release wants kill progress; Secret cost |
These three Secrets sit at the top of both major launch boards. When you pull one, spend gems and traits here first.
Madaro (Madara on some unit cards) clears packs with the fifth-hit AOE and drops a huge Heaven Splitter when you need range. Cursed Lover turns enemy actives into your toolkit and finishes with Love Beam. Valcrad stacks crit and bleed tools, then parks a boss with Coffin Trap.
You do not need a forever #1. Any of these three is a fair first Secret if the kit matches how you clear.
A Tier
| Image | Unit | Role | Why it ranks | Watch out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Bluma (Data Analyst) | Farm / Infinite income | Training Data income checkpoints up to +30% Income at 380 Data; farm consensus across guides | Combat letter ranks can sit lower than farm value |
Bluma is the economy slot, not a pure DPS race. Combat-heavy boards may park her lower than S while still calling her the best farm and Infinite income unit. Build her when long sessions matter more than one more attacker.
Pair Bluma with a real carry. Do not trait-dump three mid DPS units while your income unit is still bare.
B Tier
| Image | Unit | Role | Why it ranks | Watch out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Bon (Purgatory) | Support / economy | High on support-heavy boards (food buffs + money); strong team glue if that kit holds | Other boards dump him mid; pure DPS testing may underrate him |
![]() | Goju (Honored One) | Support / CC | Infinity nullifies hits; Infinity Expansion 30% Slow after 6s in range | Damage ceiling unclear; same large letter swing as Bon |
Bon and Goju are the clearest early disagreements. Some boards treat them as top support cores. Others park them mid because damage testing is still thin.
If your clears stall on boss control or team buffs, test Bon and Goju before you burn every resource on another mid attacker. If you only care about raw wave clear and already have S carries, wait for more hands-on data.
C Tier
| Image | Unit | Role | Why it ranks | Watch out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Starku (Primordial) | DPS | Cluster of high early ranks across boards | Kit depth still thinner than Secrets |
![]() | Igritto (Commander) | DPS | Same high-mid cluster as Starku | Form title can read differently in UI |
![]() | Noroto (Linked) | DPS / transform | Dual-sourced cloak: after 10 Chakra, +25% Damage, −20% CD, +15% Range for 20s; every 3rd cloak hit small 50% AOE | Needs Chakra build-up before the cloak spike |
![]() | Tojei (Sorcerer Killer) | DPS | Strong mid-high on both boards | Some writeups say he cannot receive buffs |
![]() | Vegita (Super) | DPS | High-mid on both boards | Some notes lean on Goki synergy |
![]() | Yoto (Calamity) | Exclusive DPS | Exclusive with high early placement | Exclusive access; less kit documentation |
![]() | Zeldo (Piety) | DPS | Boards agree mid-high | Less kit detail than Noroto |
This band is where the meta is still wet cement. Noroto has the clearest shared kit story (cloak after Chakra). The rest are strong Mythic and Exclusive DPS names both launch boards still like, without Secret-level proof.
Invest after an S carry and a farm slot are covered. Promote the unit that actually closes your hardest live stage, not the one with the coolest anime look.
D Tier
| Image | Unit | Role | Why it ranks | Watch out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Aneko (Queen) | Disputed DPS / mid-high | Largest letter swing on the early board (top-half on one side, bottom on the other) | Do not treat either extreme as settled law |
Aneko is parked alone on purpose. Averaging a top rank with a bottom rank into a fake mid letter hides the fight. If you own her, run her and judge the kit yourself. If you do not, skip a full trait plan until more clears settle the argument.
E Tier
| Image | Unit | Role | Why it ranks | Watch out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Itsugo (Dangai) | Mid DPS | Solid mid across boards | Not a first-chase Secret |
![]() | Konpatchi (Unleashed) | Mid DPS | Solid mid across boards | Same investment caution as other mid Mythics |
![]() | Gyutari (Upper Moon) | Mid DPS | Solid mid across boards | Thin kit notes at launch |
![]() | Goki (Super) | Mid / boss focus | Mid combat ranks; some boards flag boss work | Form title can read Super 3; not an S carry |
![]() | Melio (Assault) | Mid DPS | Both boards agree mid | Fine placeholder, weak chase target |
![]() | Roxi (Mage) | Mid support | Mid placement; utility lean | Also labeled Oxi on some lists; same unit |
![]() | Shinaru (Butterfly Dance) | Mid / single-source high | High on one launch board only; portrait matches Shinoru naming | No second ranking source yet |
Use E as fillers and situational holds, not as your main gem sink. Goki can matter more on boss-heavy clears than a pure wave farm. Roxi (Oxi on some lists) is a mid support name, not a second Bluma.
Shinaru (also labeled Shinoru) sits here with a single-source confidence tag: one board ranks her high, the other never lists her. Fun if you pull her. Do not treat that solo high placement as settled law.
F Tier
| Image | Unit | Role | Why it ranks | Watch out |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Sosuke (Eternal) | Low early DPS | Both boards agree low on the early high-rarity board | Form suffix Eternal is list-dependent |
![]() | Itsoda | Legendary note | Appears as a low-rarity footnote, not a Secret chase | Outside most high-rarity lead tables |
![]() | Leorio | Epic farm note | Early Epic economy footnote; refund-style kit in early notes | Not a Secret-tier farm; Bluma still leads income |
Sosuke is the shared low name on the early high-rarity board. Keep him only if he is already on the field and you need a body.
Itsoda and Leorio are optional lower-rarity footnotes, not the core Secret/Mythic chase. Leorio can help early money loops; he does not replace Bluma for Infinite income scaling.
How to spend resources without regret
- Lock a farm slot first if you grind Infinite. Bluma is the safe economy name on this board.
- Pour traits and evo mats into one proven carry. Prefer Madaro, Cursed Lover, or Valcrad when you own them.
- Treat Bon, Goju, and Aneko as experiments. Test them in your hardest clear before full investment.
- Hold heavy spend on C and E Mythics until a unit repeatedly saves your stage.
- Redeem release codes for gems and rerolls when the live codes list is up, then pull toward Secrets and Bluma rather than random mid names.
Traits (Immortal, Overseer, Hustler, Ascendant, and friends) multiply keepers. They do not turn every mid Mythic into an S carry. Roll them onto the unit you already trust.
Ranks will move as more players finish kits and patches land. Recheck your board in-game after big updates instead of freezing a launch-week letter in stone.
