Ascension in Anime Origins permanently buffs a unit by fusing duplicates of that same unit, or a rare Fusion Core. Each successful fuse raises that unit's Ascension level by one, up to Ascension V.
The bonuses stay on the unit. They are not temporary match buffs. Ascension is a clean permanent stack for keepers you run in Story, Infinite, and Raids, while top Traits still usually move the needle more.
If summoning keeps handing you spare copies, this is the sink that turns those dupes into real stats on units you actually play.

How to ascend a unit in Anime Origins
Talk to the Ascension NPC near the Summon station in the lobby. That opens the Ascensions screen.

- Pick the unit you want to raise. Choose a keeper you actually play, not every common on the roster.
- Add fuse material. Slot duplicates of the same unit, or a Fusion Core when you have one.
- Spend Fuse Chips. The Fuse control shows your chip stock. Buy more in the Rift Shop with Cursed Tickets when you run low.
- Hit Fuse. The unit gains one Ascension level and keeps that permanent bonus.
Chip costs and duplicate amounts live on the Fuse screen. Read the live cost before you commit.
Fusion Cores raise Ascension by one level without burning a matching dupe. They drop from Raids and stay scarce. Save them for high-rarity units that barely reappear when you summon (for example Valcrad). Easy-dupe units can eat normal copies instead.
Spend Ascension on units you plan to keep for Raids and endgame. Feeding every low-rarity spare into random fillers starves the carries that need the stats. For early investment priority, pair this with the Anime Origins unit tier list.
Every Ascension level bonus (I–V)
![]()
Max rank is Ascension V. Each level is permanent once you fuse into it.
| Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| Ascension I | Damage +3% |
| Ascension II | Range +5% |
| Ascension III | Damage +5% |
| Ascension IV | Crit Chance +25% |
| Ascension V | Crit Damage +25% |
Early ranks nudge damage and range. IV and V lean hard into crit. Stack them on units that already have a strong Trait and a kit you play every run. Ascension does not replace evolution or trait rerolls. It sits on top of a unit you already trust.
