Hoverboards make travel quicker in Pet Simulator 99, but the designs come from very different routes. Some unlock through normal play, while others mark an achievement, old event, shop offer, clan finish, leaderboard place, or partner perk. The ride is simple; choosing what to chase is the part with homework.

Start with a board you can earn directly
The standard Hoverboard unlocks when you reach Area 2, Colorful Forest. It is the practical first goal because it improves travel without needing Robux, a limited event, or another player. The M-10 Hoverboard is another gameplay route, earned through the Adventurer Merchant with Quest Medals.
Achievement boards are also clear long-term goals. Their requirements stay tied to actions such as using vending machines, fusing pets, eating fruit, or redeeming merch codes. They may take time, but at least the finish line is not hiding behind last year's gift box.
Read availability before choosing a target
A rarity label does not tell you whether a board can still be earned. Use the availability label to judge the route:
Permanentmeans the listed route is a standing part of the game or account progression.Achievementmeans a fixed milestone unlocks the board.Rotating offermeans the board belongs to a changing shop selection. It may not be on sale when you look.Limited rewardmeans the original pack, gift, calendar, or event route was time-limited.Leaderboard rewardmarks a competitive clan or world-ranking prize.Eligibility-gatedmeans the unlock depends on account status, such as the BIG Games Partner program.
For a board with an old limited or competitive route, look at trade status next. Tradable means another player may be the practical route now. Untradable means the original requirement cannot be skipped through a trade.
Do not treat rarity like a price guide
Two boards with the same rarity can have completely different histories. One might be a shop rotation, while another came from a clan battle that ended long ago. Rarity helps sort cosmetics, but acquisition route, availability, and trade status are better clues for planning a collection goal.
Market prices and demand can move quickly, so confirm any trade with current in-game information. A board being tradable says that a transfer is allowed; it does not promise a fair price or an easy seller.
Regular and shiny boards
Regular hoverboards share the same movement speed, so picking a design is mostly about style and how it was earned. Shiny hoverboards move faster, but shiny versions are variants of existing designs rather than separate hoverboard unlocks. That keeps the chase focused on distinct boards instead of counting every sparkle twice.
These boards unlock from account milestones, including gameplay achievements and merch-code achievements. The requirement is fixed, though reaching it may still take a while.
These boards came from seasonal gifts, calendars, quests, and event rewards. When the original event is over, a tradable board usually becomes a player-trading target.
These boards began in the Exclusive Shop, paid packs, VIP access, or spending rewards. A rotating offer can leave the shop, and a limited pack may no longer be sold, so availability matters more than the old Robux price.
FAQ
How do you get your first hoverboard in Pet Simulator 99?
Reach Area 2, Colorful Forest, to unlock the standard Hoverboard. You can then equip it from the hoverboard menu, the hoverboard icon, or the Q key.
Can every Pet Simulator 99 hoverboard be traded?
No. Some boards are untradable, including the standard Hoverboard, Axolotl Hoverboard, Bling Hoverboard, Blue Flying Carpet, and Red Flying Carpet.
Can you still buy a hoverboard marked Rotating offer?
Only when it appears in the active shop rotation. The label records its shop route, but it does not mean the board is on sale right now.
Are shiny hoverboards separate designs?
No. A shiny hoverboard is a faster variant of an existing design, not a separate design with its own unlock route.
