Firefly, Gojo, and the other melee kits sit on a different shop. Strength feeds those styles. Power feeds fruits. Weapon is the stat that makes these swords hit harder.

What to buy next

Stay on Katana until Deeproot Jungle. Dual Katana is the cheap next shop. Gryphon costs more coins and a few gems for the same M1, Z, and X kit, so buy it only if you already have the pile. Yoru is the Frostborn shop once you can reach that island.

Keep Stylish Bandit Slayer as a side quest, not a replacement for every shop blade. Cid wants crowbars and a long damage sit, then a coin and gem pay. You only need that sword if Shadow is on your list.

Hueco Mundo is the first real fork. Buy Zangetsu if Tensa is the plan. Walk to Legend's Arena for Excalibur, or Scorched Ruins for Player's Dagger. You can own more than one. Each craft just wants its own material pile.

Which swords need an older sword

Some later swords will not sell unless you still own the earlier one.

Race gates and late farms

Raiden Shogun and Kokushibo will not sell if the race is wrong. Unlock Archon or Demon first, then farm the materials. Do not start a race chase just because you like the name.

Solemn Lament is the Frostborn money-and-materials sink. Start that farm only when you already live on Frostborn bosses.

What mastery unlocks

Mastery is a second NPC, usually on the same island as the seller. Finish those quests and most later blades unlock R. Raiden's R is a mode swap: the second form gets its own M1, X, and V.

Shadow Daggers already lists R on the weapon itself. There is no second mastery NPC to visit. Starter shops are done when you buy them.

Common mistakes

• Walking up to Raiden or Kokushibo before the race is ready.
• Dropping Stylish Bandit Slayer, then wondering why Shadow will not sell.
• Treating Miyabi like a Frostborn shop blade. The banner is in Lineage Town.
• Mixing Saber Alter and Excalibur Morgan into two swords. Same blade, one shop.
• Calling Stylish Bandit Slayer "Beater." That is the old name.
• Treating Firefly, Gojo, or Sukuna as swords. Those are melee styles.
• Starting Shadow Daggers before level 5,000. The seller will not talk until then.
