Haki is extra combat power you unlock once you are into Lineage Piece, not something you spawn with. Observation helps you live through hits. Armament makes your hits hurt more. You unlock them on different islands with different books, so the real choice is which grind you take first.

Items
You can own Observation and Armament together. They do not replace each other. Conqueror's Haki is not in the game, so do not park your grind waiting for it. If an NPC prompt asks for a higher level or more gems than the listed cost, trust the prompt in front of you.

Which unlock to chase first
Start with Observation if later islands still drop you. Deeproot Jungle is the earlier stop, and the dodge kit helps you finish the world-boss work that quest already asks for. Armament waits on Frostborn Island (the Lv 601 to 1000 area), so most players reach it after they can already survive a bit.
Observation is the stay-standing unlock. Armament is the hit-harder unlock once you can keep the aura on.
| If you want | Unlock | Why |
|---|---|---|
| To stop getting dropped | Observation | Dodges buy time on islands that still clip you |
| More damage | Armament | The aura only helps while it is active |
| An earlier unlock | Observation | Jungle Island comes before Frostborn |
Do not mix up the books
Each unlock wants its own book, and they do not swap. The Observation book is a one-time quest item from the last torch. You cannot trade it, buy it, or hand it to the Frostborn NPC.
The Armament book is the farmable one. Any mob or boss can drop it, and Lineage Town's Merchant can rotate a paid copy. Farm whatever you were already grinding instead of staring at one spawn. The drop likes to hide if you camp a single enemy. Save the Merchant gem buy for when you are done waiting.
Color rerolls only change Armament's look. They do not raise the damage. If you already like the aura you rolled, spend the coins on something that actually hits harder.
FAQ
Is Conqueror's Haki in Lineage Piece?
No. Conqueror's Haki is not obtainable. Do not hold Yen or gems waiting for it.
Is Buso Haki the same as Armament Haki?
Yes. Armament Haki is also called Buso Haki, and some players say Bosu Haki. Same Frostborn Island unlock, same Haki Book, same damage aura.
Is Ken Haki in Lineage Piece?
Ken is just another name players use for Observation Haki. Same Sogeking quest on Deeproot Jungle, same dodges.
What is the difference between the Observation Haki Book and the Haki Book?
They are different items. The Observation Haki Book is an untradeable one-time quest item from lighting the fifth torch, and it only unlocks Observation. The Haki Book is a 0.1% drop from any mob or boss (or a 10,000 Gem Merchant listing) and it only unlocks Armament.
Which Haki should you unlock first?
Unlock Observation first if you still die a lot. Deeproot Jungle comes earlier, and the dodges help you finish the world-boss grind. Get Armament on Frostborn Island once you can reach that area and want more damage.
Where is the Observation Haki NPC?
Sogeking stands on Deeproot Jungle, also called Jungle Island, near the wooden bridge. Talk to him first, then come back with the Observation Haki Book and 2.5M Yen after the 40 world bosses and five torches.
How do you change Armament Haki color?
Armament rolls a random color when you unlock it. Use a Haki Color Reroll from Rare or higher chests, a 4% mob or boss drop, or the Lineage Town Merchant for 7,500 Coins. Color is cosmetic and does not change the damage buff.
