In Fish It, the map is the progression track. Every island and underwater room has its own fish index, shops or quests, and a gear gate (boat, elevator fee, diving gear, or a puzzle) that decides when you can actually farm there. Learn the route and you stop guessing which pier is for coins, which cave is for secrets, and which dive needs a better suit.

You spawn on Fisherman Island (players also call it Stingray Shores). Buy a rod, a bobber, and a boat, sell fish when your bag is full, and pick up diving gear from the Utility Store when you are ready for deep water. Almost every other stop is a boat ride away, and the open Ocean between islands has its own fish index, so casting while you travel is not wasted time.
Early boat loop
Tropical Grove is the first easy money and Enchant Stone farm west of spawn. Kohana Island sits farther out with shops and the cave path into Kohana Volcano. Grab the free Lava Rod from the Lava Fisherman inside the volcano, then farm the lava pool when you want coins faster than the starter piers allow. Coral Reefs and Crater Island fill mid-game indexes; at Coral Reefs, the purple crystal cave is the efficient cast spot.
Paid and gear gates
Esoteric Depths is not a normal dock stop. Pay the elevator fee (about 400 coins), ride down, and fish the small underground pool. The Enchant Altar lives here, so this is where Enchant Stones you farmed earlier get applied to rods.
Lost Isle sits on the northern edge of the map. Land on the surface rock, equip diving gear (about 75,000 coins from the Utility Store on Fisherman Island, unless someone gifts it), then swim into the underwater rooms. Sisyphus Statue is the big temple pool for deep-sea secrets and Ghostfinn / Deep Sea quest progress. Treasure Room is the deeper chasm hall with King and Queen Crab style targets. The nearby mini-temple can sell the Angler Rod while you are already underwater.
Late islands and secret rooms
Ancient Jungle is a permanent late island with its own shops and jungle index. Walk the island for color-coded artifacts, place them at the temple levers, and open Sacred Temple. The Underground Cellar door sits beside the temple and only opens at night, so plan a night visit if the cellar is your goal. Temple rooms feed Elemental / Element Rod quests and high-value temple fish.
Pirate Cove is a permanent late island (added in the Pirate Cove update), not a holiday map that disappears. Surface quests with the Carpenter, Captain Jones, and other NPCs sit on the docks. Crystal Depths needs Advanced Diving Gear and the rope at the island center. Pirate Treasure Room is a separate secret path: finish the Carpenter TNT quest, blow the rock pile, dive the cave, clear the maze, then fish the treasure room. It is not the same pool as Lost Isle’s Treasure Room.
Common mistakes
- Sailing past the Ocean without casting. Travel water has unique fish you will not catch at piers.
- Jumping off the Kohana volcano rim instead of using the cave path into the lava pool.
- Paying for Esoteric Depths before you have Enchant Stones ready to spend at the altar.
- Trying Lost Isle or Pirate underwater rooms without diving gear (or Advanced Diving Gear for Crystal Depths).
- Treating Christmas Island, Mount Hollow, or Classic Island as permanent map stops. Those are seasonal or removed event zones; stick to the durable islands and dive rooms when you are planning a long-term route.
FAQ
How do I leave Fisherman Island?
Buy a boat from the boat shop on Fisherman Island, sail toward island markers on the map, and dock at the pier you want. You can also cast in the open Ocean while you travel.
Is Fisherman Island the same as Stingray Shores?
Yes. Stingray Shores is another name players and guides use for the starter hub. Same island, same shops, same spawn.
Where should I farm coins early?
Tropical Grove is a strong early money and Enchant Stone stop. Once you can reach Kohana, the volcano lava pool with the free Lava Rod is one of the best mid-game coin farms.
How do I unlock Esoteric Depths?
Find the elevator entrance, pay the access fee (about 400 coins), and ride down to the underground fishing pool. Use the Enchant Altar there to apply Enchant Stones to your rod.
What do I need for Lost Isle?
Sail to the northern Lost Isle marker, land on the surface island, equip diving gear, then dive into the underwater temple pools. Sisyphus Statue and Treasure Room are the main fishing rooms under the surface.
How do I open Sacred Temple on Ancient Jungle?
Fish or collect the color-coded artifacts around the island (a radar helps), place them on the temple levers, and open the doors. The Underground Cellar entrance is next to the temple and opens at night.
Is Pirate Cove a limited event island?
No. Pirate Cove is a permanent map island added in the Pirate Cove update. It can host pass-style quests, but the island itself stays on the map with Crystal Depths and the Pirate Treasure Room.
Are Christmas Island, Mount Hollow, or Classic Island still part of the normal map?
Those are seasonal or removed event areas, not durable permanent stops. Plan long-term fishing around the regular islands, Esoteric Depths, Lost Isle dives, Ancient Jungle, and Pirate Cove instead.
