Search for the Needle is a quest in The Hollow, Roblox's Halloween event. You enter a GRAVEYARD match, dig four hidden candles out of haystacks, and light each one with a match. How to Enter the Search for the Needle Match in The Hollow
The quest runs in its own match, so you have to set one up before you can dig. The route starts in the theatre and takes five steps:
- Go to the theatre in The Hollow's hub.
- Talk to the ticket-counter NPC.
- Select the Search for the Needle icon.
- Choose GRAVEYARD from the party map list.
- Create a party, then set the difficulty and party size.
The party map list also shows Farmhouse, Basement, and Ranch, so check that you've picked GRAVEYARD before you start.
How to Find the Four Hidden Candles in the Haystacks
The four candles aren't out in the open. Each one is hidden inside a haystack, so dig through the piles until a candle turns up. Pick it up and carry it to one of the four empty candle holders around the giant pumpkin near the centre, and keep going until all four are placed.
Your objective board tracks the count as you go, starting with Find the Candles (0/4). That makes it easy to see how many are still missing.
How to Light the Candles With a Match
Each candle is lit with a short match minigame. The match sits on the left beside a striking strip, and the wick is on the right. Drag the match head across the strip until it ignites, which can take two, three, or four strikes. When the prompt reads LIGHT THE CANDLE!, drag the lit match onto the wick.
Lighting candles also opens graves and releases skeletons. The puzzle takes over the full screen, and skeletons can close in while it's open, so clear nearby enemies before you start each match.
What Summons the Pumpkin Boss and How the Fight Starts
Once the fourth candle is lit, the giant pumpkin cracks open and reveals the Pumpkin Golem. Your objective changes to defeating it. The entrance banner calls the boss the Hollow King, and its health bar reads Pumpkin Golem, so you'll see both names during the fight.
How to Beat the Pumpkin Boss: Attacks, Dodging, and the WOUNDED Prompt
The boss attacks in a few different ways. It throws pumpkins into the arena, marks spike rings on the ground, and uses a burning ring. Skeleton waves and a blackout phase also come up during the fight.
Spike rings show up on the floor before they hit, so watch the ground during each attack's wind-up. When you see a marked area, move out of it instead of standing still.
When the WOUNDED! HIT IT NOW prompt appears, the boss is open to damage for that window. Attack right away and make the most of it.
Skeleton waves keep coming from the graves. If they chase you, the red pickup truck near the gate can break them off: jump onto its bed, and the pursuit is interrupted.
How to Finish Chapter 4 After the Pumpkin Boss
Defeating the pumpkin boss doesn't end the chapter by itself. Once the boss is down, a white van breaks through the gate, and you finish Chapter 4 by boarding the back of it.
Don't keep fighting skeletons in the arena while you wait, because the graves can keep releasing them. Head for the van as soon as it breaks through.
Boss Badge vs. Chapter 4 Badge: Where to Claim the 20 Tickets
Two badges mark the ending, and they confirm different things. Defeat the Pumpkin Boss confirms the boss kill, while Finish Chapter 4 confirms that the chapter is complete. Earning the first one doesn't mean you're done, so check for the second before you move on.
Once Chapter 4 is finished, return to The Hollow's hub and check the listed 20 Tickets.
