Leave the safe bubble, catch a few fish, return before your oxygen runs out, and use the first sale to fix the gear problem that slowed you down. Roblox Abyss is an underwater survival and exploration experience from Deep Spirit Games, built around diving, harpoon fishing, gear upgrades, quests, and new areas.
Your early hub is called Forgotten Deep and is also referred to as Forgotten Dome. These names point to the same starter area. The safe bubble is your place to regroup, while open water drains oxygen and can put you in a fight with the fish you came to collect.
Keep code-specific help separate from the dive route: the Abyss codes page is the better place for redeemable code details, which can change independently from the basic early-game loop.
Finish the tutorial, catch a few fish, and sell them to the Kraken
Start close to the hub. Follow the opening tutorial, equip your starting harpoon gun and tube, and learn where Kraken, the shops, and the return bubble are before you travel farther.

- Swim out of the bubble and aim at a nearby fish.
- Fire the harpoon to begin the catch.
- Keep the fish marker inside the green zone until the catch finishes. Good aim starts the job, but the minigame finishes it.
- Turn back while you still have oxygen to spare.
- Return to the hub and sell or turn in the catch to Kraken.
On PC, WASD moves, Q and E move you vertically, Shift boosts, G opens your backpack, and the number keys select quick slots. Use the prompt shown by the game when you interact with an NPC. The interaction key can vary, so the on-screen prompt is the one to follow.
Upgrade the tube when oxygen or depth is the problem
Once the first catch-and-return loop feels safe, choose upgrades by bottleneck. The starter hub has the services you need close together, so take a moment to recognize the routes to Kraken, Virelia, the tube shop, and the harpoon shop.

Pick a tube when the dive ends too soon. Tubes affect oxygen, maximum depth, carrying weight, and movement speed. Choose one when you run out of air, cannot reach the depth you need, fill your carry limit, or spend too long swimming home.
Pick a gun when the catch itself is the problem. Gun upgrades affect damage, control, and cooldown. Choose one when fish are difficult to control, take too long to catch, or fight back hard enough to disrupt the run.
Use Shift for short repositioning rather than charging into unknown water. Faster movement can tempt you to travel beyond the oxygen buffer that makes the return trip safe. Chests are worth checking when they sit along a safe route, and they may contain oxygen-support items or other rewards.
Use quests, geodes, and a safe return route to keep progressing
After your basic loop works, add the systems that give each dive a purpose.

- Accept hub quests. Take available starter tasks, especially from Kraken. They give your next dive a clear goal while you learn the area. Scientist, Virelia, and Mr. Black are useful follow-up stops, but you do not need to chase every NPC on your first swim.
- Finish the chest state during fishing. A treasure-chest state can appear inside the catch minigame. Finish the chest progress when it appears. Completing it can award a geode.
- Take geodes to Virelia. Virelia opens geodes into randomized artifacts. The resulting artifact adds a bonus that can support later dives, so treat it as a progression layer after your basic tube and gun are working.
- Set the return before you leave. Pick a route back to Forgotten Deep or Forgotten Dome, leave room for detours, and turn around before oxygen is empty. Oxygen failure can cost part of the run, so one extra fish is rarely worth gambling the trip home.
- Save convenience tools for later. Radar and the teleporter can make searching and travel easier after your oxygen and gear needs are covered. They are follow-up goals, not the first thing to buy.
The early loop stays simple: dive, catch, return, turn in, upgrade, and repeat. If you are comparing Roblox fishing games, Fisch’s Halibut Harpoon Gun guide covers a different game’s harpoon setup, so keep its item names and controls separate from Abyss.
